I invested in a patio sunroom using this company instead of replacing the covering on my existing metal gazebo. I experienced a couple of snags, but the bottom line is that I am very happy with the end result!
The sunroom was designed to exact specifications that fit my existing patio slab perfectly. I now have a functional, cozy, and beautiful area to hang out in, even during inclement weather. I didn’t purchase high-​end materials, but the insulation has been quite adequate so far. I have received many compliments on it.
On the down side, it was a bit pricy and I’m wondering if I should have have negotiated the price a little more. I thought flooring was included and when it was completed on only the existing concrete, I called to express my concern, only to be given a hard time by a very rude customer service person. I later spoke to someone else who did not condone that person’s attitude, but did give a reason for it, admitting it’s still no excuse. He apologized and gave me the kind of customer service I expected. The concrete floor is working out well, but I do wish it was made clear at the time of purchase that flooring was not included. The last problem I had was that water leaked into the room when the sprinklers went on and when it rained. It took about 3 tries, but the problem was eventually fixed.
After all is said and done, I recommend this company as the work was excellent, the materials were very good quality, and the workers were professional. The sunroom also makes my backyard look much prettier! I dropped it down one star because of the glitches, but I would not hesitate to use it again for future projects!

Overview:
So Cal Contractors built our sunroom in June 2015 and we are delighted with the results. I have worked with other contractors in the past with other «major» renovations and additions to our house and would absolutely use them again for future projects.
Planning:
Adrian walked through the entire process of planning out the space that was purely conceptual. He was very thorough and accommodating to some of the additional asks that we had placed on him while he was taking the measurements and drawing up the specifications for the sunroom.
Upon agreement to the initial sunroom drawings, So Cal Contractors were able to finalize and submit the plans to the city literally the next day. Miraculously, the plan check approval only took on month! I have submitted plans to the city for two other projects and this was by far the fastest by 3 months. In fact, plan approval for this sunroom would have been even quicker if it were not for a minor correction to the design of the sunroom.
Building:
The building phase was truly a delighter. I thought Adrian was rather ambitious to state that the sunroom would only take one month to complete! In fact, there was a gentlemen’s bet between he and I on whether he could finish building the sunroom in a shorter period of time than how long it took to obtain plan check approval. I won the bet but only by a couple of days and it was primarily because of requests outside of the actual building of the sunroom that I made So Cal Contractors do for me.
I was truly impressed by the level of detail and professionalism of the So Cal Contractors workforce. Juston was basically the day-​to-​day contractor for the project and he was a delight to work with. He was very accommodating to our ideas regardless of how out-​of-​scope or crazy it was.
Another major delighter for me was that at the end of each working day, the work areas were diligently cleaned up and the trash was promptly collected. I thought this was really a professional «above-​and-​beyond» service when compared to my other house projects that looked like complete wastelands during the building phase.
Conclusion:
Building this sunroom really was the capstone project to my house. Thanks to So Cal Contractors for helping me realize my vision. I could not be happier with the results!

So Cal Contractors and Remodeling, Inc. has a misleading and deceptive practice in getting customer sign contracts at a stated price only later to increase the price and will not perform. I needed to get my roof replaced, So Cal Contractors inspected and measured the roof and quoted a price which was higher than a local competitor. Subsequently sales person called to check how they had fared and were informed that competition was cheaper. Informed that if they match competition they will get the job. Sales person later got back confirming in writing that they will match competition (after getting an approval from company Management). Sales person contacts to makes an appointment to visit my residence to get me sign the contract at the agreed upon price, Contract get signed by myself and sales person. Subsequently, I’m contacted by the Manager one week later after signing the contract that they cannot move forward, unless the price is increased by additional 30%. I informed the manager that I have a signed contract and why did they wait one week to contact me. I was told that the sales person made a mistake, contract was not binding because it states in the contract that its only valid with final approval and that their cost had gone up. Manager was informed that the sales person had given me in writing that the price was approved and questioned why have the customer sign a contract that is not final! to which I was not given a clear response. I also argued that I relied upon the contract and them to be a responsible and ethical contractor to follow through. The issue is that the other contractor promotions ended which increase the price. All I requested to So Cal Contractors and Remodeling to either complete the job at the stated contracted price or pay me the difference in amount that I will pay extra to the other contractor, but I was boldly denied. Stay away from this contractor to save money and time!

I agree with Hungry G. review. I have received numerous calls from these folks, even after letting them know I have decided not to move forward with them. Somewhat shady– I didn’t trust the guy who came to my home, and the people on the phone pushy. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these Unilocal reviews are scams.

We had this patio cover that wasn’t quite a cover. It was just the lattice on top, no roofing/​cover. It got annoying not having shade and being blinded every time I’d step outside so I was referred to SoCal Contractors and Remodeling.
I called for an estimate on a patio cover and they came over and showed us our options. I was a little surprised, but VERY pleased that the service was very professional. Also, the cost for the quality was unbeatable. I had estimates done at other companies but SoCal Contractors & Remodeling was more affordable for my budget than the other places.
I’m pleased with the results and loving my patio area which is now covered and gives me shade! Very professional and I recommend them! Thanks!

Had a guy come give us an estimate for some work in the yard — he did a great job with the presentation — we signed a document giving us 3 days to decide, but because we found a much better estimate we had to cancel, that’s when the problem started, we called the guy that did the presentation but he wouldn’t answer, we then called the company and meet Mr Pushy, he turn the table in us and made it seem we were just too poor to afford them,. Man… all I wanted was an estimate for some house work but it was like I was buying a car.
Not a smooth experience I rather eat glass.

Having owned my home for 20 years, I can tell you of several construction jobs where every suggestion of improving the design resulted in a new Work Order and additional fee. That gets old fast. But, happily, that was not so with So Cal Contractors & Remodeling. Guaranteed through the Home Depot, I signed a contract to replace my old wood and composite patio cover with specific instructions that whatever they do, they not damage in any way, and find some method of supporting, my 20 year old wisteria vine that annually blooms with 2′ long bracts of righteous purple, fragrant flowers. That was a deal-​killer if they couldn’t do that. They went to the drawing board and came back with a design that wouldn’t work. I told them they needed to go back. They did and returned shortly with a gratifying and novel design that I readily accepted (with no effing revised Work Order!)
In three days, I had a beautiful new patio cover with my awesome (and extremely heavy) wisteria wrapping the eaves like it had been there forever. No extra fees or Work Orders, no complaints, no hassles. This was the easiest, most satisfying construction contract I’ve ever signed.
Kudos to the demo guys who removed all the old cover and cleaned everything up to spotless. And a big thanks to Doug and Matt who came up with the idea to support the wisteria, then built a great patio cover.
I couldn’t be happier with the results!

After months of searching for someone to build our backyard pergola I finally went with So Cal Contractors instead of their competitors and I couldnt be happier. From communication, arriving on time and coming in with a uniform it shows the professionalism of the team. While searching for a contractor we wanted someone that was honest and hardworking. SoCal was the ONLY contractor that offered us the option for a permit. The rest of the contractors either ignored our request or told us that it wasnt something that was important to get a permit for. We being the risk adverse people that we are wanted to get a permit for the job. The permit was signed sealed and approved by the city without us doing any of the leg work. So Cal went to the city and had our plans approved with blueprints and paperwork without any additional charge.
After searching for a while I am GLAD that I went with them. They are an awesome professional and competitive company. They have made the experience and stressful part of construction a breeze.

I wanted to write a review about so cal we specifically worked with Charles and Derek. We had our roof, tex coat and a patio cover installed. Sometimes the roof guys would show up sometimes they would not same for the tex coating guys. We live in San Diego and they were coming from Orange County so with the heat and ordering the products it was a little frustrating. The guys worked really hard. Our favorite was the patio cover, Jesus Gonzalez and Freddy Bermudez came early, worked hard and compled job as promised. It’s beautiful. Charles the project manager was great at follow up and easing my mind when I was concerned about specific things. I am pleased with the end result.

Our experience with So Cal was great. Steve was very professional and personal when he visited our home to scope out the patio cover. I cannot say enough about Patrick who did the install. Hard worker and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend So Cal Contractors.

I have hired Socal Construction to do some remodeling work after I read the reviews about a job the did for some one that lives close to me. I am very pleased with the service, the price and the time management. I have received numerous compliments on the concrete work. They have re-​done my kitchen counters with concrete. Results are amazing.
Very professional and within my budget.
I will hire them again.
