We have over 20 years of experience creating custom awnings, canopies, cabanas and carports for the Southern California community. At CalShades our focus has always been the creation of high-​end style and living! We pride ourselves in providing great products and excellent customer service to each and every one of our customers.

We have extensive experience in the specialty fabrics industry, with a focus in design and installation. We are a licensed, bonded, and a fully insured state contractor (CA Lic. #752 517).

CalShades & Awnings, Inc. is a complete manufacturing facility located in North Hollywood, California, with in-​house graphics department. In addition to our outdoor products, we also provide custom window treatments, indoor coverings, and outdoor furniture coverings. We offer an array of custom-​manufactured curtains, drapes, shades, blinds, and shutters.

CalShades has great communication and pricing. I called and got a consultation with Vince the next day! I received a few different quotes for different vendors and CalShades had the fairest price and was the most experienced. It took a few weeks to get the awnings in after the order was placed and installation was fast and perfect. They offer great quality awnings and customer service. I was very happy with CalShades because of 3 reasons: (1) Vince who runs the whole thing came out to give me an estimate. He was on time, measured everything and gave me an estimate. (2) The cost was very reasonable, half of what an awning company was going to charge me. The reason? Vince runs a very efficient business with low overhead expenses. Who benefits? Of course we do. (3)Clear and ongoing communication with customers. Vince will not leave you hanging, not knowing when and what the next step will be.
I don’t write reviews very often, but if a business deserves recognition, it warrants my time.

Professional, reliable, good price. Pretty much all you need to know. Vince just finished installing two awnings for patios on our condo. The awnings look and work great. He’s also very good about keeping in touch, showing up when he says he’s going to, etc… Wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again.

We had our old awning frames recovered and repainted to match the awning color.
Vince was a pleasure to work with. He came quickly to meet us, explain what he would do and give us an estimate. His crew came on time to remove the awnings. The awnings were made quickly. Vince and the his crew came to install them.
At all times, he was easy to reach, communicative about progress and schedule, friendly and easy to work with. His crew took great care during removal and especially during installation — thanks Martin and Javier!
Vince’s pricing was better than his main competition. And, having dealt with another supposed well-​regarded awning company in the past, I can tell you that Vince was way better in every aspect of getting new awnings.
I recommend him and his company highly.

4 awning companies later, I still wonder why I didn’t hit upon Cal Shades sooner.
Vince came to my house with hundreds of fabric swatches and pictures of other jobs… which none of the past 4 did!!! WTF?
From concept to installation… it was a breeze. Price was fair, service solid… would definitely use them again. Being a girl, I most likely will get tired of the color and change it way before the material deteriorates. Will see.
Thank you again to Vince and his crew. Lovely addition to add to a boring lookin’ house.

We were looking for a custom awning to cover ½ of our patio and one to cover a large kitchen window. I filled out the on-​line quote request on 8÷6÷14 at 10am. I was happy to receive an immediate response from Vince and absolutely thrilled when he said he would be in my neighborhood that very afternoon and would come by to give me an estimate. At 1:30 Vince showed up, we discussed the project, he took some measurements, showed me some fabric choices and as he was leaving he told me how busy they were. Never received an estimate or heard from them again. Would never use them at this point.

These guys are really good at their job. Called a few competitors to have an idea for prices and theirs was the most reasonable and color/​fabric options were plenty. Their work is remarkable and attention to detail is second to none. Vince likes to measure twice and cut once, which is important in my books. I was referred by a friend and I must say, best decision Ive made thus far. Free consultation, they came next day and gave their honest opinion. I wasn’t in need of a new frame however, major need of a new cover. The fact that they didn’t just try to sell a job but help us save money assures me that they know what they are doing.
