I had not been in favor of the ‘big box’ gym. Had been anticipating a very ‘fake’ environment. When my local gym was bought by World Gym we did the transfer. Much to my pleasant surprise… It was none of those things. The staff is considerate and helpful. The classes are interesting and a good variety to fit your needs. Even vary from class to class because different instructors teach at different times. The whole focus of the two gyms in PTC is different so you can bounce between to find the fit you like. Because Lexington has the pool, and a ‘silver’ classes you get a vibrant flow of older patrons that all seem to know one another and are committed to good health as they age. Late night you get the crowd of body builders spending their evening at the gym. Mid day you get all walks of mom’s and wives and occasional guy in the gym classes and using the rest of the facilities. Peachtree City location on 74 has the spin class so that drives a different type of fitness fan compared to the pool at Lexington. It is more centrally located in PTC so draws upon more of the neighborhoods on the west side of town. Other than that, they are very similar in their equipment and atmosphere.

I have been a member here for about a year. The staff is friendly and they have many options in regards to fitness classes and equipment. I really enjoy the classes and I like how the treadmills have TVs, also, no one bothers me when I’m here. However, I feel it could be more clean and I believe it was quickly constructed which led to some problems like awkward layout, poor construction, plumbing issues and ceiling leaks. Another thing I find strange is that I cannot attend other World Gym’s in the county, only the one I signed up with. Please view the website there’s more than I can explain.
