George is the same guy who was at the Galleria. Totally honest, knows his stuff and super on time. I went to him to fix and replace 6 of my items. The area he opened his store is on the busy South st area. His gets a lot of customers so get there early. He charges 5 – 10 dollars on battery changes.
He also sells jewelry as well.

This guy was so nice! I needed a new clasp for a necklace I just got at a flea market. He showed me my options, assured me that I didn’t need the more expensive one, and had it fixed within 5 minutes! I would definitely go back here for more jewelry repair.

I was heartbroken when my newborn yanked my favorite necklace off my neck! I then consulted Unilocal to find a jeweler to repair it. My fellow helpers did not disappoint! Rave review after review set the bar really high.
George greeted me warmly and asked me if I needed help. I showed him my necklace and my watch which needed a new battery. He quotes me several dollars and told me it would be done in 10 minutes, which made me ecstatic because I didn’t want to leave it and come back since parking can be a bear and I wear it everyday! He offered me a seat and we chatted as he repaired my items. He was so pleasant and my necklace doesn’t look like it was manhandled by a baby! He gave me his card and said if anything goes wrong with my necklace, to bring it back! I’m so glad that George is right down the street from my house for any future fixes! Wonderful person, great service and prices. I highly recommend him!

With all of the small businesses in Philadelphia, it is rare to find a shopkeeper so congenial, talented, attentive, knowledgeable, and worth coming back for. George is as priceless as they come. I initially went in to find a piece of jewelry which she did not have in stock semicolon however, I remembered him and returned to have a necklace fixed which he did for a very reasonable rate and with a smile and a handshake. I highly recommend this excellent shop and its keeper to anyone interested in finding quality products or service

Amazing service! He changed my battery watch within minutes when I noticed he does jewelry repair as well. He was able to replace a small diamond in my ring that I have been missing for months at less than half the price I was quoted prior. He then proceeded to clean it and fix a bent in the band without me even asking. Thank you so much!

Such a wonderful experience. I had a stockpile of watches that needed new batteries, broken necklaces that needed soldering or new links, and even earrings that required new hooks. I dropped it all off with George, ran some errands, and within an hour everything was ready. The prices were between $ 5 – 10 a piece, which was discussed up front. Plus, there is a 10-​month warranty on the watch batteries in case anything goes wrong. George was so friendly… I’ll definitely be back!

George has been great to my watches! Battery replacements, nics, missing stones, making it shorter/​longer… you name it! All while carrying out great conversation with you. I recently went in for a few battery changes and without asking he automatically cleaned them for me, too. Not only do you get great workmanship and conversation the prices are extremely reasonable!

Just came from having my watch battery replaced, and all the positive reviews here were spot-​on. Took him 5 minutes to replace my battery for $ 5, so George gets 5 stars! Friendly service, and he even set my watch to the correct time and date for me. Very happy, will come back for any future watch or jewelry needs.

Be sure you visit the new location on South Street (no longer at Market East). If you need any type of jewelry repair, look no further. Repairs are competed fast and at a reasonable price. You will also get an honest opinion on what you need and won’t be sold or talked into anything you don’t actually need to buy. The five star reviews are well deserved.

I’ve always went to George to get my jewelry cleaned and to buy good stuff. He had to move from the gallery. Now he is located on south street. George always take care of us always. Love him.

George is really the best. Good to talk to. Definitely very good at what he does. So good that major jewelry chains will bring their work to George. Save the pain of going to a chain store and go to George instead.

George is the best! Very helpful, very friendly the best jeweler in town. I find he goes over and beyond what is expected. From changing watch batteries to finding that perfect ring or piece of jewelry, always willing to help with his knowledge and experience.

George at Creative Silvers has been able to repair multiple watches for me that I’ve collected over the years. He really hooked it up and the turn around time was amazing. I went to get a new battery and he even fixed the band of my watch, all with a smile.
I’ve never had any issues with receiving the correct parts for my jewelry. I’ve even taken some of my mothers items there to be cleaned and serviced for years. She was more than impressed with the turn around time and quality of the work.

Yet another fantastic experience with George. Came to get a new watch battery and it was done, along with a thorough cleaning, in less than five minutes. Oh, and he also updated the time and date on the thing!
George said that, after so many years, The Gallery is shuffling out a number of the kiosks, including his. His last day at The Gallery location will be 1÷31÷15, then it’s on to a new storefront at 620 SOUTH STREET. Doesn’t sound like they will be kind enough to let him leave signage so … you’ve heard it here.

George is always helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Great prices. I’ve been going to him for jewelry repair and purchases for close to 20 years.
Just found out that he will be relocating to 6^th & South st in Feb 2015. I will still support this business.

This gem located on the bottom floor of The Gallery. I first came here three years ago to get engravings on watches for my groomsmen. The service was excellent then and it still is today. George is helpful, polite and funny. He repaired a watch for me and had it ready within hours (and not a basic repair either). Now that’s service.
The pricing is extremely competitive at around 5 $-$ 6 for a new battery. They have a warranty for 10 months. But what I love is the fact that he signs his batteries so you don’t have to keep your receipt. If you need watch repairs or batteries, this is the place to go.

I own one of those fancy ABC watches whose battery runs out the more you decide to play with the fancy functions that you will likely never need living in the real world.
That being said, my battery did run out about 14 months after my initial purchase, so I needed my battery replaced; whereas with most other watches, the back cover is held together by tiny tiny screws, mine was held together by what it seemed like a tiny version of Fort Knox.
I was hanging out in the Market East area for the day so I popped into a few stores trying to get my battery replaced, everyone had difficulty getting the back plate to pop out and all returned me apologetic looks and more scratches on my back plate.
The guys at Creative Silver took one look at my watch, grabbed some fancy magical tool and opened my watch right up, and I was wearing my now-​working ABC watch within five minutes of visiting the stall.
Prices are reasonable, the staff is very professional; they write the store/​technician initials plus the date when the battery was replaced on the battery itself and tell you to come back if the battery dies within a year.
The only thing the technician couldn’t figure out how to do was set the time on my watch. That’s okay; even after reading the 100+ page, 6-​language manual that my watch came with, I’m not entirely sure either.

Can’t believe I am giving a store in the gallery good reviews…
But George is the man!
I got a nice new automatic watch that needed to be resized and I didn’t want to get ripped off by the stores on Jewelry Row.
I search Unilocal and this place popped out right away.
He is open to 7pm most days, is located near the 10^th street side on the basement of the gallery. He was friendly, approachable, made jokes with me, and was really fast and efficient.
When I think jeweler, I usually associate something negative like a used car sales man, but George is the opposite of that. I recommend him to all my friends, and would definitely go back to him again to get other jewelry/​watch adjustments and maintenance issues.
