Specialties

We’ve provided top quality, classic and contemporary, custom-fit men’s clothing to the elite and savvy men of Portland and beyond since 1952. We might be just what you’re looking for if you’re the kind of guy who’s not interested in paying the «popularity tax,» the inflated price tag to have some designer’s name on the label.

Instead, if you enjoy the finest materials, a tailored fit and elegant style — at an investment that reflects your intelligence — I invite you to come join our club of gentlemen. Enjoy the best of custom men’s clothing from head to toe: suits, tuxedos, shirts, ties, socks, and shoes. Even business casual menswear, including slacks, sweaters and sports jackets. Be treated like a king with personal services including a full service barber shop, shoe shine, dry cleaning & big screen TV in our men’s club.

Even if you normally find shopping a chore you may well find that the process with us is not only swift but enjoyable. And the cocktails are always on us.

History

Established in 1952.

Este’s was founded in 1952 by Este Morrison, in Portland’s uptown area. In 2003 current owner Tony Spear moved to its current location in the Pearl District. Due to its unique breadth of services, appeal as a travel destination, and devotion to its customers, Este’s has quietly prospered while 22 other local, fine men’s clothiers faded away. Este’s now stands as one of only two fine men’s clothing stores in Portland today.

Meet the Business Owner

Tony S.

Business Owner

Tony Spear began in Este’s providing professional styling services for men in 1975. By 1980, he entered into an arrangement with founder Este Morrison to buy the establishment. In 1988, he took ownership of the store and continued to build its appeal to – and value for — its clientele until 2003, when he moved the store into the Pearl district and expanded its services to include The Club Room and barber shop.

Spear prides himself on the quality and duration of his relationships with his clientele. To this day he maintains a personal interest in taking care of them.
