Evan’s Moving Co was created because we were simply tired of working for large moving companies. Our experience in working for them proved that they charge their customers outrageous rates, they don’t want to properly compensate their employees, and they want them to work backbreaking hours! What that creates is upset customers and disgruntled employees and that’s a recipe for a horrible move.

That’s why we founded Evan’s Moving Co! We pride ourselves in being the small local company that provides fair and competitive rates from employees who are happy and passionate about doing a good job! I contacted Evan 6 weeks prior to my move from Ridgefield to SW Portland. He provided a verbal bid of $ 1300. to do some packing and move my things.
He called a couple days prior and assured me everything was organized and in place.
He was to arrive at my home at 0900.
On the day of the move he arrived a little before 1 pm.
He explained they had a very late night with a difficult move.
After 11 hours of packing and loading Evan and his 2 guys (very nice but not professional movers) set off for the new home.
They were not able to fit all in rented Uhaul truck. So they left things in my garage.
I arrived at my new home around 1230 am. Evan called and said he had to feed his guys and then bring things to new home. He arrived at 1:30 am. I told him he would have to return in morning at 0800 to unload.
He then demanded payment of $ 1850.
This was $ 600. Over estimate.
The story gets worse… Basically Evan is not registered with the state of Oregon. He rents trucks, hires help as he can find them, has no business sense, professionalism or common sense. I finally got all my things 5 days later.
I would use Evan as a horrible warning, and a difficult lesson, terrible decision on my part.

Just moved to the area and found Evan on Craigslist. He responded super fast and was at my house the same day! I appreciated his professionalism and I had a very awkward piece of furniture to move upstairs. Rather than risk it, he said he would come back the next day with another man to make sure he protected my belongings and home. I was super impressed and sure enough, Evan and Cory were there the next day and time as promised. I could overhear them, yet again, communicating how to best move things to protect our home and furniture. Awesome level of professionalism and attention to detail! We will defiantly be using them for another move we have next year and highly recommend them! Thanks guys !!

My rating says as good as it gets and it is true. Evan is available, approachable and most importantly heavily focused on top-​shelf customer service. We’ve moved using his team a couple of times now. Some points to make:
Evan communicates with his team like no other, taking lead on handling and consideration for our property. This was a tough move-​in with a three level home and switchbacks in the stairs on each. We have large, heavy and expensive furniture — which he and his team protected not only with their capable skills but also with visqueen (plastic wrap) and padded blankets!!!
All of our furniture arrived safe and sound without any damages.
Another point — Evan has a flexible team of able bodied and gracious people, and he knows when to call them in for reinforcements. The move out was quick and easy but the move in (3-​levels) demanded fresh muscle and rotation so what did he do? Did he take breaks and work slowly???
Nope.
He called another hand in and got the job done. He didn’t increase my cost but I was so happy with them I payed the arranged bonus for «no-​damage» and tipped his team generously in addition to happily paying for lunch.
All I can say is that Evan’s leadership, communications and reliable staff made for a flawless execution of a very complex move with heavy, valuable furniture and personal belongings of great importance to my family.
Thank you Evan and team!!! I won’t move with another company as long as you are in the area (hopefully that wont be for a LONG time).
I would refer anyone moving to first check with this A-​Team of movers.

I have used Evan on 2 occasions to help me move. Once to hep me move some rooms at home and once to help me move an office. Both times he has been exceptional! Evan has been prompt, works hard the entire time, has all the materials needed to pack items properly and takes great care. Evan is personable and charges a fair price. I would highly recommend using Evan if you have to move a home or an office. –Brian

Evan is professional, fast-​paced and great to work with. We recently moved from OR to CA and Evan made our move go as smoothly as possible! He was extremely experienced when it came to packing the truck, knowing everything from how to load the boxes so they were secure enough to withstand a 10 hour drive, to ensuring that our valuable items were safely stored. Our items were also wrapped so that nothing was dirty or damaged during unloading. I will definitely use Evan’s Moving Co. again :)

I would give them 4.5 stars if it was an option. There were a couple of little things with communication but the overall experience was really good.
Evan and Noah were great to work with. They worked very hard to make sure everything made it on the truck in one pass and they kept a pleasant demeanor the whole day. I felt that they took pride in their work, were careful with my belongings and were wanting to make things as easy as possible for me.
When we got to the other end, they made sure everything that needed more than one pair of hands was dealt with so I wouldn’t be stuck. While Evan and I were reassembling the bed frame, Noah got the truck unloaded with efficiency and little direction.
Everything was in good shape and I had about as smooth of a move as I could hope for. I feel comfortable recommending them and I would definitely use them again.
