Any families welcoming a new baby who wants a little support with recovery, mom and baby care, a little practical care (meals, laundry, etc) or who have a million questions! We offer private classes for families welcoming twins or singletons, lactation visits to get breastfeeding off to a great start, placenta encapsulation, and gentle sleep consults that respect your approach to parenting your baby your way. Providing day and overnight service, we care for you until you are strong, confident, and ready to fly.

History

Established in 2001.

We began as a solo business but grew once we realized how many families are in the Portland metro area without support after a new baby arrives. Each year we have grown a bit, and currently we have 15 doulas serving very happy families.

Meet the Business Owner

Kimberly B.

Business Owner

Kimberly is the owner and founder of ABC Doula Service and also trains doulas both in Portland and all around the North and Southwest. She has worked extensively with families doing doula and lactation support for the past 14 years, still running the day to day operations (and answering the phone). She is a Certified Postpartum Doula and Postpartum Doula Trainer with CAPPA, a Certified Postnatal Educator (ICEA) and a Board-​Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Kimberly has been working with postpartum families since she had an infant of her own, and has a passion for newborns and their families. Since founding ABC Doula in 2001 she has seen the company grow to serve over 1200 families, and loves the collaboration of the team that has come together. Kimberly is the mother to two lively school-​aged kids, and enjoys the collaboration at home with her husband Mark, who supports ABC as the Accounts and Website Manager.
