History

Established in 1999.

Wooptido was founded by Jody Mathey and Shirley Peck with the goal to provide a fun, artistic atmosphere for clients. Specializing in color and precision cutting, we have been working together since the 1980’s and are happy to have our own place to take care of our guests.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Jody’s been a hairdresser since 1984, starting her career as an apprentice in downtown Portland. She moved to Georgia in 1987 where she worked behind the chair, teaching her clients how to participate in their service to ensure the best possible outcome, not only in the salon but at home. In 1989 she became a color specialist and educator through Redken and was able to teach her peers the latest techniques and formulation concepts. Having a baby in 1992 brought her back to Portland where she worked to build a generous clientele and eventually partner up with her friend Shirley who helped create a salon where clients could walk into a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and leave feeling excited about their new look. In 2014 Shirley moved on and Jody’s now sole owner, looking forward to many changes and beautiful «do’s.
