I went to lunch here for my second time. It is sooooo good. Everything was so fresh tasting. I had the steak stuffed pablano. I would definately bring more people here to try.

The street tacos with the homemade corn tortillas was absolutely crave-worthy. These were matched and possibly even topped by the tamales which had the lightest, fluffiest masa I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go back and try more menu options!

This is probably the best overall Mexican food in Redding I’ve found. Not a big place, and not exactly a divey cheap place either. But you can get different options that you will most likely enjoy.

I went based on great reviews but was not impressed at all. Very nice people but the food was blah and unimpressive and the price too high for what we got. Maybe we went on an off day?

My last visit here was so good, we had to try it again. My experience was not as great this go around. First, the prices have gone way up, seriously, like more expensive than any comparable Mexican Place in Redding, or the Bay Area for that matter. The food quality was good, but not great. I ordered Tacos for the wife, they are smaller street tacos, but very good and flavorful for sure. The quesadilla was a total joke, it was way small, and the price was so high for what they delivered, the Burrito was also much smaller and more expensive than last time. I would give the food a B– for taste, quality, temperature, and quantity. The restaurant is super small, which is fine, and sits in the parking lot next to a gas station. Parking is not an issue, the staff is super friendly. I will try these guys again in the future, I am hoping that I caught them on an off day, we all have them, so I will give them another shot in the future.

I was hopeful about lunch here, having read reviews and heard first hand accounts. It has now been crossed off the potential lunch options by myself and my coworkers. Compared to the large amount of quality food available at competing restaurants in the area for the same price, $ 16 got me a small plate of Chile Colorado, one tiny street taco(which had to be re-requested two times), and a glass of tap water. The Chile Colorado was bland, with no hint of spiciness to it, though cooked well. The taco was very plain, the main flavor being lime, when it had been stated it would be spicy. Coworkers purchased: enchiladas, fajitas, and Chile Poblano. All main dishes were quite small portions, supplemented by modest portions of rice and beans. None were particularly flavorful.

We stopped there on our way back from our Oregon vacation. It was the first place we saw and we were starving! We were sure glad we stopped! Enchiladas were delish, as were the carne asada and the tacos de pollo. Chips and salsa were never ending. So good. And the service… They took really good care of us. Will go back if we’re in Redding again!

This is most likely the best Mexican food I’ve had in years. It is authentic and feels like I’m eating a home cooked meal. The service is outstanding and this restaurant is sooooo clean! Great taco salad and the chile relleno was outstanding!

My fiancé and I went to check it out today and we’re not disappointed. He had street tacos and I have chicken sopes. We were able to watch our food being made right there. Tortillas and all! The red sauce on my sopes was killer and my fiancé said the Carne asada had great flavor. My favorite was that the sopes had beans stuffed in the middle. Plus we were able to eat lunch with drinks for under $ 20. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Authentic Mexican for me starts with fresh, warm, corn tortillas. Why is homemade rare? Because it is hard along with everything else an owner must do. At El Rinconcito everything works real nice on a small scale. Yet the menu is actually quite large, and there is specials board too. My wife tried the chicken tortilla soup on the specials menu. It was so totally homemade. I had the poblano chili with chicken. It was called Campestre, saucy, warm, and almost like a mole sauce on top. Killer. The kids had delicious looking chimichangas. They do have a nice selection of bottled beers too. Authentic indeed … you’ll love that you came to the real Redding.

Meh. Maybe it’s because I’m from Sonoma County where there’s an authentic taqueria on every corner, bit this place is not 4.5 stars special. The salsa is not very flavorful and neither were the tacos. Nothing was glaringly bad, except that the waitress must have been sick the second time I went because the cook had to help us, which meant slow service, but nothing is THAT good, either. Also it is quite tiny and so, when busy, cramped. Better to call ahead and take to go.

I was really surprised by this little place. Good, authentic, Mexican food at decent prices. Service is fast and friendly as well. So far I have had sopas, enchiladas, and tacos. All were really tasty. One of the best Mexican food places in Redding.

Pretty quick, fresh, great, friendly and affordable. Best taco salads in town/area. Nachos are excellent Tacos feel like you are eating them fresh from Baja Mexico! Best tacos I have ever had. Burritos good, not the greatest and nothing worth writing about.

Holy moly, this place is a gem. Others called El Rinconcito a hole-in-the-wall; they were right. The setting is modest; the food, excellent. We arrived tired and grouchy, having hiked in Lassen and almost run out of gas(I maintain: checking gas levels is the driver’s job! but somehow this was a blameless occurrence). Our GPS had steam coming out of its ears as we made one wrong turn after another. My SO was not loving the location, but I stuck to my guns based on reviews. The chile relleno? «One of the best I’ve ever had,» he said(coming from a guy who always orders the chile relleno). My tacos, one al pastor, one chicken, reminded me why I love tacos. I am so used to tough shredded chicken, that I forgot – forgot! – how good small, juicy, succulent pieces can be. The tamales were also excellent. Chips and salsa were standard fare. Our very young waitress could not have been nicer. Go here if you’re in Redding. I think you’ll like it.

Fresh. Authentic. Delicious. I loved the street tacos(al pastor)! I also had the taco salad(steak) and really enjoyed it. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and offered a menu. The service was quick and friendly.

Excellent Authentic food. Decent pricing and healthy portion sizes. Like someone said before the staff’s English isn’t the best but they are super helpful and aim to please. It’s one of my go to’s.

BOMB.COM…Mexican food is my go to dinner and this place has it pretty dialed! I highly recommend their steak fajitas. The mix of meat and veggies on a HOMEMADE corn tortilla is so stinking delicious. My mouth is watering just writing about it. A huge factor in what makes a Mexican restaurant amazing is their tortilla chips and salsa. It can make or break a restaurant. El Rinconcito has the best salsa I’ve tried in Redding. Eat here. You’ll love the service. You’ll love the food. You’ll love the atmosphere.
