I would give 5 stars, but nobody is perfect. This is as close as it gets! We visited the store, and liked the vibes. Kevin made us feel comfortable that the company is reputable. We purchased laminate, tile and carpets throughout our home. The major work was done on schedule, which was very important. When a few minor problems arose, Kevin was always there with answers that kept the job going as we expected. We recommend Designers’ Magic to anyone in San Clemente!

It began with a kitchen remodel a year ago and just finished up with new laminate flooring in our living areas. RJ and Kevin provided excellent prices, friendly service and quality contractors. They wanted our satisfaction and not just our business. Hard to find these days.

hi everyone! i am probably the pickiest homeowner when it comes to have contractors in my home. i must say that designer magic floor, not only met my expectations, but far exceeded them in regard to product, installation and customer service.
the crew they had come to my home was of the utmost professional demeanor. they were superb in ensuring that my home was treated with care and were highly respectful to me while they were here. they got to work, completed their job and left! my carpet looks stellar and i told kevin that i would recommend them to anyone who asks.

From the moment we walked into the showroom, we felt right at home. All of our questions were answered. Prices were reasonable and we even were allowed to take home a sample of laminate flooring to make sure it would match in our two rooms. RJ’s installation team actually arrived 10 minutes early. Very professional and left the rooms spotless. We will go back to Designer’s Magic later this year when we end up doing the rest of our home. Also like supporting San Clemente local business.

I went in to the show room and I was impressed at the reasonable prices. I wanted to keep business locally here in San Clemente but I also didn’t want to have to pay a lot. After I settled on a color and a type of wood flooring that I liked, RJ and I agreed on an installation date. When the day came, RJ and his team arrived promptly and they did a top-​notch quality installation job at my home! I feel like my house looks more modern and it looks and feels so much better! I do not miss my old carpet, and I am completely in love with the Dark wood floors. The service and quality is five star from beginning to end.

Designer’s Magic recently installed hardwood floors throughout our home downstairs. Primarily we worked with Kevin but also had positive interactions with RJ and Richard. Kevin was prompt with his appointments and phone calls and always kept us informed as to the progress of our installation. The installers were skilled and worked quickly but accurately with attention to details. When finished our home was left clean and orderly. Overall we were extremely pleased with Designer’s Magic professional customer service and installation. Our floors look AWESOME and we would highly recommend them for any hardwood installation big or small!

Designer’s Magic just installed a beautiful laminate over our entire main floor and staircase. RJ was pleasant to work with and very accommodating when two days before our install I decided to change the materials we had ordered. He quickly ordered the new material and took care of returning the old material for us without a hitch and we were able to keep the same install date. As far as the install, their team worked hard and fast and completed it in one day. The floors look beautiful and the staircase looks perfect! We are very happy with our experience!

Designer’s Magic made a beautiful wall to wall, bound, rug with a thick padding for my bedroom. No more cold slate floors to step on! The prices were very competitive. I like to support businesses where I live. Kevin was a pleasure to work with and the install crew were polite and did a great job! I highly recommend them! I will work with them again!

I was prepared to purchase carpet from another supplier when our local carpet cleaner, Mike highly recommended that I give Designer Magic a chance. Since they are local San Clemente I was glad to try them, and I couldn’t be happier. Kevin met with me, measured the job and provided a quote all in the same day. 2 days later I had my carpet installed, on time, with no problem for the team to move large items in and out — all beating the budget! It was a pleasure working with them and I am glad to recommend them to anyone.

The showroom attention was good. Then RJ was almost an hour late meeting me at my Mom’s condo and be the time he called, I was already there.
The flooring itself is well done. HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE TOILET WHEN THEY FINISHED. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
They handled it however I should not need to find the toilet in the bathtub.

Richard and sons Rich and Kevin do a great job. We remodeled our home and DM replaced 75% of our flooring with hardwood the rest in carpet. We just had two bedrooms updated to wood and now the entire house is wood and we love it.
Their prices are competitive and their service and follow-​up is great!

Recently just remodeled our place with hardwood floors downstairs and carpet in the bedrooms. Kevin helped us design our products and got us a great deal. We original got an estimate from Lowe’s and Designer’s Magic beat their quote. Very happy with our new floors. Highly recommended.

My family went into their showroom and a hardwood floor sample fell off of the wall and onto my three year-​old. I emailed them and received a very unapologetic response. I prefer to support local small businesses, but they lost their opportunity. We ended up at LA Carpet in San Juan Capistrano and just had 1800 sq feet of carpet installed. The did a great job and I’d highly recommend them… ask for Kevin.

The owner is one of the most rude and angry men I have ever met! The workmanship was terrible, and when they came back to correct the issues, the installers damaged my wood floors taking chunks out of them! The owner’s son came by and insisted that the damage to the wood must have been there previously which it was not! THEY ARE THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

The Designer’s Magic Flooring driver nearly rammed my truck when he recklessly crossed over into my lane forcing me to brake hard to prevent a collision, This was at the I-​5 Frwy and Camino de Estrella in San Clemente 2 blocks from their store. The driver turned into the right lane to turn into the Ralphs parking lot where this store is located but looked at me as he did so and gave me the finger. So much for my repeat business. What is wrong with these people? Guess they never heard of Unilocal.You cannot repeatedly mistreat people anymore guys… your actions and word of mouth now cast a global shadow over your business. And why doesn’t this business have a website or a fictitious business license? Flying under the radar?

I totally agree with everyone that said to avoid this place like the plague! So true that Richard totally changes his personality after he gets your business. He lied about the installation time among other things… the job was sloppy, I’ve had other professionals in my house that couldn’t even believe how bad the workmanship was. The guys a jerk! When the workers were supposed to show up at 9am and still weren’t there at 11:00 he actually asked me what the «big deal» was! Unbelievable!!!

Easily the worst contractor we have worked with. Fast, sloppy, and careless. When they finished installing our wood flooring, we had glue on the walls, tool marks on the boards, and a sticky residue on much of the floor that was very difficult to remove. In addition, there were about a dozen creaky, low spots. They said it was due to an uneven sub floor, but we agreed to pay them extra to float out the low spots! They did come back to «fix» some areas, but their fix left more tool marks, excess glue on the floor, and, worst of all, did not resolve the creaking.
The tile work they did looked great, but within a few months nearly every tile creaked and the grout eventually cracked and fell out. Now, we’re left with a kitchen floor of loose tiles with sunken corners.
I would have been better off doing the work myself and saving thousands of dollars.
