I dropped my mom off for surgery in her Lexus and smelled burning oil. I went to 3 places before I found Sam, who immediately saw me and put the car on the rack to find the leak. He took the time to show me the problem and promptly provided a breakdown of the costs. He even offered to provide a loaner car if I needed to come back the next day for my mom’s post-​op appt. Very kind, prompt, and I will definitely be happy to use them in the near future!

I have taken my Honda Accord to Sam for years. His pricing is reasonable and he has always been helpful, honest, and flexible with timing to accommodate my busy schedule. He’ll give you a no nonsense assessment of the work your car needs and what it doesn’t need. Having work done on my car is no longer a dreaded pain. They have given us rides home or to work when our cars were in the shop, and also offer lender cars if your car is getting worked on and a lender car is available. Quick and Helpful.
Called about 4:30pm Thursday to ask if I could get an oil change the next day (Friday) at 8am. I only wanted to pay for labor, as I have all the materials (oil, oil filter, washer). He mentioned he had time Friday morning and it would take 45min max. I stopped by Friday morning at 8am and was seen right away. It was $ 15.00 for labor and I was in and out in 30 minutes.
I’ll definitely come back again. Thanks Sam!

So far, been back 8 – 9 times. Sam and Andrew seem to be the last honest mechanics around… seems very good… but I noticed every time I’m in, 2 – 3 more repairs arise, suddenly, and I get check engine lights days later. I was suspecting they were causing these problems, to make more money, BY INSTALLING BAD PARTS ON PURPOSE. This has happened more than once. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS? So far, I believe them to be honest with good prices… but want to know if others have seen this issue. This always seems to be towards the end of the year. It could just be bad luck. Nice people.

Andrew was very conscientious about fixing my Q45 AC. I had spent $$$ and several days over the last months at other places who ultimately could not fix it. He was the first who was willing to remove the glove compartment and get into the evaporator core space. It now works like new and I trust them.

«Stay away from Them» was the advise I received from ‘2’ other legit mechanics.
My car was in there 5 times for A.C. repair (I know, shame on me) … each time Sam said «it was fixed, ‘but’ let me know if it leaks», and each time he charged me and each time it leaked. I kept on getting the «We have to order a special machine to find the leak» The other mechanics said this was hog-​wash… after what seemed to be a force of nature I was able to get a small refund.
Long story short … Very dissatisfied.

They gave me a quote on a water pump a few weeks prior to having my car serviced. On the actual day of service they quoted me a higher price. I showed them the card in the original quote was written. They honored the price, were completely honest about what the car did and didn’t necessarily need, work was done in a timely promised matter and to perfection. To top it all off, they saved me nearly $ 300 from Toyota’s quote. I will return in the future.

This place is horrible. each employee told me that something different was wrong with my car. then the owner insisted it was my muffler even though i told him it felt like the transmission. i trusted him & let him «fix» the muffler. they didn’t even test drive it. when i picked p the car the issue was still present. i went back to get my money back. i took it to another place and had the transmission fixed. problem solved.

I took my SUV (Honda Pilot) a year back after reading reviews in Unilocal.My SUV needed a lot of work as we were going on a long road trip including timing belt (100K tuneup), new tires and servicing. Sam and his crew was upfront about the work, dropped me off at home and picked me up again and the work ended up to be nearly half of doing to a Honda dealer. And the SUV ran great on our vacation including the drive on the Pacific Highway 1.
I have been back multiple times since for regular maintenance. I would highly recommend Sam and his team (Massoud and Andrew)!

Took my Lexus in today with the engine and other warning lights illuminated and the fear of a huge repair bill. I had a tough time finding it amongst the numerous repair shops in this coulda sac, however I’m glad I persevered. Sam, on a call the evening before, gave me a quote for a diagnostic session so I was prepared. They identified the problem code and discovered it was caused by my loose gas cap! A disreputable shop could have made a pretty penny off my naïveté but not these guys. They spent more than an hour and didn’t charge me a dime. Think Ill be back? Oh yeah.

I needed a trusted and honest auto mechanic so I found Japanese Autocare on Unilocal and my friend also just took in her car for some maintenance and recommends this place.
I made a morning appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. It was completed in 45 minutes and the price was reasonable, $ 38 including tax and fees. Sam (manager?) was nice and friendly. He didn’t try to up sell me anything.
There’s other auto shops in the same plaza too. I accidentally walked into the wrong one but the guy was nice enough to point me in the right direction. So make sure you go to the correct shop. :)

Japanese auto care is legit. I’ve been going to them for the past two years now and have all three of my cars serviced by them. Sam and Andrew always take care of my cars, even if it’s a last minute thing. Everytime I’ve called about check engine light or weird sounds, they almost always accommodate me ASAP. I know a lot about cars and I trust these guys.

Sam runs a great shop. This is the second time I’ve brought my 2004 Mazda 6s there and have great service and the car runs great.
Very fair prices. Charged me ½ of what another shop wanted to charge to replace a starter, and I don’t even want to think about was the dealer would have charged.
He had the opportunity to have me pay a ton for a new manifold/​catalytic converter unit, but instead was able to get the leak welded instead, costing me ¼ of what the manifold would’ve cost.
The only complaint I have is that I seem to have to call for a status, but that just may be me being me and I should be more patient.
They’ve definitely earned my business.
