This place literally saved my ass!
I was driving and my timing belt broke (I was a dumbass and didn’t get a new one in time). I had my car towed to firestone, because that’s what my insurance told me to do. However, firestone was wayyy too over priced and I felt like I was getting ripped off. Being and girl and a college student I feel like a lot of car repair shops take advantage of us.
I found Ramon, because I needed to tow my car out of there and could not afford
to fix it. I then realized that he was also a mechanic and asked him how much it would cost to fix my car. He gave me a quote and assured me that he would not charge more than that. His price was more than reasonable as he assured me he was giving me the best deal. He also said that I was his last customer before they change location. I automatically felt comfortable with him and gave him a chance as he really seemed like he wanted to do a good job on my car.
Got my car towed from firestone the next day and he told me it would be done in a couple of days. He called me with updates on my car and it turned out that my car wasn’t as damaged as we thought and it would be cheaper to repair!
Picked up my car from his place the very next day up and running again! Told me he’s email my receipt so I can come back to get it fixed if anything was wrong with his job.
His shop changing locations soon, but I will defiantly go there next time I need anything done with my car. After a two years of living in San Diego, I finally found a mechanic I can trust and won’t rip me off.

I love this place! I went to Midas today and it would have cost me over 400 bucks to replace the rotors and brake pads on my car. I heard about Ramon through a friend and when I called him he said he could do the same work for almost half of that! The staff is really nice and they really know their stuff! Being a woman, I always hate going to the mechanic because they usually take advantage of us… But not at La Mesa Service & Tow!!! Hands down, this place is going to be my go to shop from now on!

Having to do car repairs can be very expensive in this economic times especially for us women who knows little about car repair cost. I have had terrible experience in with previous mechanics who most of the time try to take advantage of this fact. I found out about La Mesa Service & Tow from a family friend who has serviced her car for over thirteen years. The Service here is amazing and I will return to get my car serviced here. I feel they provide quality service at an affordable prize. This is the only place I recommend to my friends and to YOU, unless you want to over pay. The owner’s name is Ramon. He will never say your car needs more repairs then are really needed. He provides the same quality of service to men and WOMEN … Ramon is certified and accredited mechanic in California. Again, he is very HONEST, RELIABLE AND I WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE TO GET CAR REPAIRS. I have an 06′ VW BEETLE and My boyfriend has a BMW and he only takes it to him. He also fixes my dad’s GNC. my car and safety is in good hands! … ohhh and he also gives student discounts !!! GO AZTECS!
