Scripps-Mesa Glass

Glenn messed up the dates on the quote for a heavy glass inclosure. He seems out of it and not very professional. I also didn’t have faith in the guy doing the measuring of my shower. Once the we were given the quote it was higher than all the other quotes. Just do your research this place is not the best. We decided to go with a different company so I can’t review their glass work. There is also no show room.

A neighbor child broke our window with a soccer ball. Fortunately only one of the double panes was broken. I called Scripps Mesa Glass based on the good reviews and had a great experience. Glenn was professional and gave us a ballpark estimate on the phone, Alfredo came out and measured, and in 2 days, Jesus popped the old window out and installed the new one in 30 mins. It looked better than new, matched the other windows, and even had thicker glass! I was pleased with their courteous, friendly, and professional service. I definitely recommend them!

Last Thursday night my storefront window broke. Friday morning I called Glenn, and by that afternoon the window was replaced. Great response, very efficient installation crew.

We have storm windows behind wrought iron security bars on all the windows over the entire house. A neighbor in our area thought it would be a good idea to use his high power pellet gun to play cops and robbers with some of the neighborhood kids. From a half a block away he manages to shoot out our front storm window. Guess what. Nobody even installs or repairs the kind of security bars we have on our house anymore. After talking to 10 or more clueless window and glass companies, with prices ranging from an arm and a leg, to a full kidney transplant, of the ones who even thought they could do it, we all but gave up.
However through a recommendation from a friend at work, we called Glen at Scripps Mesa Glass and explained the situation we had. He made arrangements to send out a technician for an estimate and he arrived exactly when he said he would. Not only that, the installer said he could change the glass from the inside without having to even touch the security bars on the outside. The installer gave me a fantastic price, and fixed the window right on the spot, in less than 30 minutes. I can’t thank them enough for the excellent service and price, and immediate installation. Thanks a million guys!

These guys are great, experienced, honest, and reliable. I was very pleased with the service, communication, and timeliness of installation. I had a sliding glass door replaced in my home, and they did an excellent job.

I have repeatedly tried other glass companies over the years, primarily in Encinitas, and Scripps has always had the best prices. They fabricated and installed shower enclosures and one door needed an adjustment later. No problem. I have had them re-​cut mirrors in arches; no problem. I have had them make glass shelves; piece of cake. Whenever I get competitors prices they are higher. I am not going to run down the 2 local companies since the one is nice and the other is a rip but I cannot get the easy, straight forward answers that I want when I go to them so I end up going all the way back to Scripps Mesa. It is a longer drive but I want a good price and I want service that helps me. Try the price test. talk with them. I can’t see why you would use anyone else unless you live out of San Diego County…

Scripps Mesa Glass recently replaced 3 double paned windows in our home, on a 105 degree day in Rancho Bernardo. They were professional and worked so hard to get the job done. 95% of the work was done outside and it was miserably hot. We kept them hydrated and they did a fine job, cleaned everything before leaving and were real gentleman. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family. Holly R

I needed a window replaced and had called over a dozen San Diego based Glass Companies advertising «Emergency Same Day Service». ONLY Scripps Mesa Glass put their money where there mouth is. They were at my home in an hour and replaced the window. I will never hesitate to call on them again if the need arises.

This use to be a good business under the old management. Unfortunately, in recent years I’ve had nothing but bad experiences.
1^st experience: I was told to go to them because they installed my windows and I needed new latches that they carried. After calling, they said they had them in stock… They didn’t. Inconvenient but no big deal.
2^nd experience: I called to replace a cracked window. Glen said it would be $ 201 but couldn’t tell me what that covered. It’s a dual-​pane and I told him I’m selling my condo so I have to show that it includes the glass, the inert gas in between the dual panes, etc. He said he’d send it but didn’t. So I waited half a week for the next available technician to measure the tiny window. «Santos» showed up 1.5 hours late without even a courtesy phone call. He spent less than a minute and on top of that, he was rude. I asked about an estimate and he just said, «glen will call you,» in what very little English he knew. When Glen called he said it’d be $ 201 but still wouldn’t give me anything in writing. Why am I going to give them $ 201 and my credit card info with NOTHING in writing. How unprofessional! I asked again for any kind of contract so I don’t get screwed. They’d already been sleezy thus far and you know what he said? He needed to charge me $ 59 for a free estimate! I asked if he needed to charge me, why didn’t he say that last week? All I want is a contract so I know what I’m paying for.
Good luck if you use Scripps Mesa Glass but you’ve been warned.
