OMG, place is awesome, the Amorso bread, the amount of meat. Just incredible. Wise potato chips, tasty kakes yummmm. Ana was outstanding maker/server. Very friendly and attentive. Great girl. Rocky monies going on all day. Strongly recommend you give this a try if looking for quality east coast hoagies.

It was just okay. Not bad, not good. If you’re in the area check it out. If not, probably not worth the trip.

Location: 3 Simply due to the parking and size of the location. It’s a very small location in a strip mall with not a lot of parking during peak hours. Atmosphere: 3 It’s lay out and décor is just like every other small business. The basics which do nothing to set it apart from the competition. Customer Service: 5 The staff is top shelf and make sure to treat you right. They were very attentive and personal. Food: 5 This is where they excel. The food was on point and seasoned perfectly. It had that authentic philly taste and the bread was fresh and soft. Price: 4 It was well priced for the quality and taste. Especially because you pay the same price at other places for mediocre taste and quality. Cleanliness: 5 This place was impeccably spotless. Overall this was a 5 star experience, I won’t bring them down because of the location as they might not have a choice due to cost and overhead.

My coworker ordered a meal from here yesterday and brought it back to work. It smelled amazing! I had to try it for myself on my lunch break today. I came in, and the first thing I noticed was that the staff is SUPERFRIENDLY. They carried on a conversation with me after I ordered, during a slower part of their day. I had ordered the regular philly cheese steak with onions(combo) and it was well priced and DELICIOUS! When I had mentioned that my coworker stopped by the previous day, they remembered her by name as well. That shows true dedication to customer service. I definitely will be stopping by for lunch more often.

I have been searching for a good Philly cheesesteak for quite sometime. I was pleasantly surprised that this place was right down the street from me. It seems to get pretty busy during the weekdays but I went in right at opening time! The employees were extremely nice! And the food was ready fast too! I found the prices to be a little higher than I was expecting but other than that this place is great!!!

On point Philly comfort food. The owner and entire staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The owner is there working the entire restaurant making sure you have the best experience… in other words: a true family run Philly steak shop just like back home!

Good fast cheesesteak. Wasn’t the best I’ve had but good none the less. Ladies working were friendly and attentive. We tried the steak and the chicken, I’m not sure I had a favorite.

Perhaps I a victim of exaggerated expectations of a philly cheeseteak, but I just wasn’t blown away. It’s OK. Here’s the breakdown: Joe’s Special Cheesesteak — bread is light and crispy, not too spongy. Meat proportions seemed a light for a 10″ and the quality wasn’t noteworthy, more than enough cheese. Definitely too light on the mushrooms, but adequate amount of peppers. Not very filling for a 10″ sandwich. Smother it in hot sauce for some flavor. Cheesesteak Fries — a little smaller than I’d expect and just drenched in awful cheese whiz.

My husband bought me lunch from this place off Miramar Road. I requested the mushroom cheesesteak with provolone and no onions. I also got a side of garlic fries. Since I got my lunch to go, it wasn’t as fresh and the fries were mushy and soft. What I did appreciate, however, was the flavor. Garlic goodness!!! The cheesesteak had a lot of meat, which I enjoyed. The cheese was on the bottom and I was hoping it would be on top so that it melted all over my sandwich. The sandwich was a good portion and filling. Small business owner that’s been around for over 10+ years, so kudos to them!

Discovered this gem for the first time, after working in Mira mar for 2+ years. It’s dank. Period. Decent prices. Tender steak, extra cheesy. I love that a mom n pop style business and they aren’t stingy on servings. Loved it so much we went back twice in the same week. LOL. Friendly staff, food turn around is hella quick! I didn’t give 5 star because it isn’t the highest quality products. I wish they offered a grass fed option. Or a gluten free bread. I would pay more no questions asked. Considering this is 2016 and most care about their health /quality food… I will not visit as often and only consider it as a guilty pleasure.

I was told about this place by a friend. I loved the steak sandwich, but the fries were frozen and I could tell. I will be back because I want to try the sandwich with cheese whiz instead of provolone. If they have onion rings, I’ll try those as well. The other great thing is they have Wise Chips and Tastycake. They need to get Junior Coconut though.

Stopped by for lunch with the bf on Friday. We ordered the 10″ mushroom philly cheesesteak with provolone cheese to share. It was fresh off the grill with generous toppings. I liked how the provolone was melted perfectly but I’d choose the cheese wiz next time because we had the cheese wiz on the steak fries and it was extra tasty. Great local shop for meat and cheese cravings! Keep in mind that it’s pretty hard to find parking in this busy plaza.

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon while out shopping off Miramar road. Best cheesesteak I’ve had since leaving south jersey, and the roll was fantastic! They also have local soda and snacks from Philly. Joe was really nice — will be eating here again for sure.

Growing up near Philly and loving my cheesesteaks this place is as good as it gets in San Diego. Small shop with all things Philly, i walked in and was greeted with smiles by two very nice folks. The food was great and hot, great service!!! Highly recommend checking this place out.

I love this place! Joe has thee best Philly Cheesesteaks in town. The bread is fresh and lite. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Fries are crisp. Everything is just great! Joe and his staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, almost as if you’re family. I definitely recommend getting out here to try this place.

I love this place! I used to come here many times with friends and family at the convoy location. It was one of my absolute favorite places to eat lunch at. The philly sandwiches are full of flavor. Fresh hot with loads of savory meat and melty cheese mmmm! I like to get it with grilled onions, provolone cheese and a little mayo and I had hot sauce. I haven’t been to new location where they moved to but I cant wait to come back to san diego and try it again. Once you come here no other philly cheese steak can compare!

I drove 45 mins looking for this place! I went to their old locale and it was gone so I made the trek to Miramar and I am so happy I did. It is still the same friendly staff and the cheesesteaks are out of this world! You should try a steak and cheese and add a little of their special hot sauce, it is killer!

My fiancée and I stopped by to grab a to go order of Philly cheese steak and a Pastrami sandwich. The combo came with fries, and they were some damn good fries. I judge places for their fries. I just… it’s just… well… fries are frucking important. I was delighted to find that our fries were lightly seasoned and perfectly crisped. Which surprised me because she didn’t take very long at all. Our sandwiches were delicious, packed well with meat. A little sad that we didn’t get cheese wiz because I totally forgot that was even an option. I love me some cheese wiz. Overall, the food was great. Customer service was awesome. The sandwiches were a tad bit smaller than I had expected considering the cost, but it was worth in my opinion.

This is a cool place. They merged with Gino’s Pizzeria, so now they have both pizza and philly sandwhiches. They’re a little off the beaten path for a work lunch or for residential orders. The inside is clean and simple. The food is pretty good. In my opinion, it’s overall just a good, typical pizza/sandwich joint. My co-workers have wanted to go twice in the last few months though, and like I said, it’s not close, so I suppose they may be extra special to some people =) it’s probably especially good for people from the East Coast as it seems to be pretty authentic East Coast cuisine

Came here for lunch, stopped by the local pizzerias and this one looked the cleanest and newest so I wanted to try it out. Got the philly cheese steak fries and DAMN the meat was perfect and the fries were great, it didn’t get soggy like you’d expect. The owner was friendly and very welcoming, I’ll be coming back!

Not a bad sandwich all around but just not that good. The bread was soggy, there wasn’t much meat, and the meat had hard bits. The French fries tasted out of a bag. The cheese was good but hard to overlook a soggy sandwich with so little meat. I’ve had cheessteaks at Pats and Genos in Philly as well as some pretty awesome places in San Francisco and NYC. Not saying I’m an expert but I know what I like. And this ain’t it. I’m still on the lookout for Sd’s best cheesesteaks. I liked Pops but they’re no longer there. Boohoo.

Tried this place for the first time today. Ordered online for delivery at the office. I got Joe’s Special(a cheesesteak with mushrooms, peppers, and onions) and the Cheez Wiz fries. My friend got a cheesesteak with extra Cheez Wiz, chips, and a salad. Let me tell you, this food is DELICIOUS. They skimp on nothing. Plenty of meat, cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and lots of Wiz on the fries. My friend said his sandwich was drowning in Cheez Wiz and he loved it. Frank’s Black Cherry Wishniak is perfect to wash it all down. On top of it all, the gentleman that delivered was super nice and friendly. They could not have made a better impression on me. I’ll definitely be going back!

Came in here and it wasn’t busy. But when the food came out quick I was ok with it… Then I opened the cheesesteak sandwich and saw half of the cheese from the sandwich on the wrapping and felt a bit ripped off. But then I realized that maybe if I eat there it’s not wrapped and the cheese would be on the sandwich. I’ll eat in and see if my theory is correct next time I go there. As for the taste… HELLA good. I was sad I got the 6 inch cheesesteak. I know what to get next time I go. Get there and eat good.

Went to Ginos today, got a pepperoni pie, some stromboli, and you gotta have the cheesesteaks. If you spend more than 2 minutes at ginos you will know right away how much they care about the customer. They treat you like family(people who met or know Joe from the Philadelphia Sandwhich shop know what I’m talking about). That care transcends to the food. Pizza is fresh and amazing. Stromboli is one of the best I ever had. Joe is the originator and the King of Cheesesteaks in San Diego(0ver 35years), and is now teaming with Gino, who has some of the best pies only means great food for us. A must is definitely the stromboli, and like I said gotta have a cheese steak. Thanks Joe and Gino
