When it’s really your day, the company you’re working with sends out some one like Mario Torrez to solve your problem. Mario amazed us by diagnosing the problem and explaining it to us in terms we could understand. We gave him the «Go ahead» and he took care of the repair. Mario is a big, strong man, but when my wife and I talk about him, we call him «Silk.» Why do we call him «Silk»? It’s because he’s a big man but can easily squeeze into tight places. Whether Mario is explaining things or doing repairs, he does it as smooth as «Silk.»

This was a major plumbing job, mostly carried out by Mario. The work was superb, but Mario made it a pleasure – he was prompt, friendly, easy to reach and kept us posted, and was great with the dog. I would never use another plumber.

On 2÷5÷16 we made an emergency call to Mike Counsil Plumbing to repair a punctured main water pipe that a spewed gallons of water before we were able to shut the water off. Counsil plumber Richard Rogers responded promptly and repaired the damaged pipe after explaining how the repair would be done, costs and warranty etc. He checked the inside faucets to ensure debris hadn’t entered the damaged pipe. He also replaced a defective pressure regulator valve. Richard was professional and friendly. The following day, we had an issue with one of the faucets that we thought could have been related to the pressure valve. I called Counsil Plumbing and they scheduled Richard to come out later that day. Richard identified/​repaired the problem that wasn’t related to the water pressure. Again Richard fixed the problem quickly. This was the first time we used Counsil Plumbing and we couldn’t be happier with their service. We highly recommend Mike Council Plumbing and Richard Rogers, you won’t be disappointed.

I recently had extensive plumbing work (sewer clean outs, new sewer lines, water lines, etc.) completed by Mario Torres and Victor of Mike Council Plumbing. Not only was their work exceptional, their ongoing communication about daily progress, their care of the interior of the house while completing the necessary repairs, their daily clean up of the areas affected and their overall attention to detail and professionalism were greatly appreciated.
Mario Torres, especially deserves special mention as he was focused on completing the work to our satisfaction and ensuring an ongoing positive relationship with Mike Council Plumbing, truly a valuable asset to the company. Shawn (in management) also was totally responsive at the outset of the job when I had several questions to understand the bid.

I’m so pleased with the service we got from MC employees! We had quite a problem here with our pipes where I work. Over two days we had three MC employees come to help. Aaron Lefeber, R.J. Mattson and Jacob Lopez. They were all professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good plumbing service.

Super Mario — I had a slow draining sink and called Mike Council. They were able to set an appointment a few hours later. Mario T. called prior to arriving and immediately went to work. He assessed our drain, took apart the P-​trap and then roto rooted my drain pipes. He even checked the underfloor plumbing (through our crawl space) to ensure there were no leaks and that the plumbing runs had enough slope. Problem solved. Thanks Mario!

I called Mike Counsil Plumbing (MCP) this morning to come out and replace the hose under my sink that was messed up by the company that delivered and installed my dishwasher. I chose MCP because they must have a contract with our mobile home park since they are out here frequently. Not only were they able to send a plumber out later this afternoon, but the very nice lady who made the appointment for me soon called me back and had a plumber who could come out even earlier! I wish I could remember her name, so please look her up as I would also like to recognize her too.
Kevin Bueno was able to determine the problem and make the repairs quickly! He even cleaned up the filthy old grunge that was living in the empty dishwasher space for me. Totally above and beyond since MCP wasn’t installing the dishwasher, but he offered since he could see how gross it was. This was so greatly appreciated since I have wicked arthritis and a bad back.
Will definitely call Mike Counsil Plumbing again!

Our water heater was deemed hazardous per PGE do we had to replace it. We had a great experience with another plunbing co, but the person that drained a flood under our house didn’t want to call back. So a friend of my husband recommended this company and RJ and a co-​worker came. That same day they installed a water heater which was great since it was already two days of no hot water. The next day there was a leak but RJ came right away and that’s a plus! No waiting at all! Jaime came in probably two days later and he was making sure everything was great and he found that we had a leak under our toilet. That was awesome! Because the plumbers before didn’t catch that and they were inspecting under the house during the flood. These guys were awesome! Very professional!

I would recommend these guys for any plumbing jobs. They are super professional, and did a great job.

Mike Counsil Plumbing (MCP) stands by its word. Pure and simple.
Plumber Abel Villagomez installed an Aqua Vista kitchen faucet two years ago, in 2013. This faucet started dripping every 5 or 6 seconds starting about two months ago. Figuring faucets don’t heal themselves, I contacted the folks at MCP.
Sean Counsil, the service manager, agreed that a faucet should not start leaking after only two years.
Sean quickly arranged for Abel to come back in. Abel and I went to pick out a new (Delta) faucet, brought it back to my house and Abel installed it. Got a new one-​year warranty on parts and labor.
In this day and age, it’s really unusual for a vendor to basically say «we gotta make this right for you so that you are happy customer.»
MPC’s Sean Counsil and especially Abel Villagomez went above and beyond the call of duty to make me that happy customer! How? By demonstrating incomparable integrity and professinalism. Abel is also a personable guy, very pleasant and affable.
I’d ask for Abel if you can get an appointment with him. He’s worth asking for.

Just wanted to take a minute to say what a great experience I had with Jaime from Mike Counsil Plumbing. I’m a realtor up in Sacramento and I’m selling a property down in Almaden Valley in San Jose. I had no idea how difficult this would be because the property is vacant and it’s a 3 hour drive (if there is no traffic) for me to go down and personally attend to matters. Well I thought everything was going great until we got into contract and the buyer did inspections. They found some potential plumbing issues and I found Mike Counsil Plumbing through a friend that lived in the area. Mike Counsil Plumbing sent out Jaime to check on my issues. One was a sump pump and the other was a hot water heater that we couldn’t get working. Jaime confirmed the sump pump was doing it’s job and was in working order. And after PG&E incorrectly diagnosed my hot water heater as one that needed a new control panel, Jaime quickly diagnosed it as a tripped earthquake safety switch. Apparently someone had tripped the switch, and painted over the sight glass so you couldn’t even tell. Jaime scraped off the paint, cleaned up the switch, sent me a ton of pictures via text so I didn’t have to go down there, and then he was able to get the hot water heater working, and even stayed at the property until the whole thing heated up and he could confirm the house now has hot water.
I am very appreciative of not only the time he took to fix all of this, including things like waiting for the hot water heater to heat up, but also the speed at which he addressed these things. He new I needed to satisfy a buyer quickly, and so after I called in at noon, he was there by 2 to fix everything.

We would like to highly recommend these plumbers. In the recent past we have used their services 3 times, once to install a new kitchen faucet (and de-​install a defective water filtration system), once to replace the cartridge in a bathroom tub faucet, and most recently several days ago to replace our water heater when the old one abruptly started leaking, so that we had no hot water. On all 3 occasions we were able to schedule appointments promptly, and this last time when we called in the evening they came right out the following morning. The plumber who replaced the water heater, Kevin Buono, was terrific, gave us all the options for replacement and completed the work quickly, cleanly and efficiently. That was also true with the other 2 plumbers who took care of the earlier problems.
In other houses previously, we have used other plumbers and believe me, these guys are the best and most reliable ones we have ever had.

We will like to recommend Dave Glover from Mike Council Electrical/​Plumbing.
Dave and his crew worked very professionally and completed replacing our electrical panel on time as he promised.
We were very fortunate to have Dave looked at our electrical panel after we noticed our lights inside our house started too flickered intermittently at night. We had no idea our house was at risk because our electrical panel had caught on fire. We called Mike Council to have them looked at the issue and we were very fortunate to have Dave assigned to our call.
After inspecting our electrical panel he immediately informed us of the issue and made some temporary repairs the next day. He also was very helpful and assisted us with the information we needed to file a claim with our homeowner’s insurance company.

What a great experience! We had to have some minor plumbing repair /​replacement done on both our toilets. I am a member of Angie’s list and chose their services to come to our home. We had the pleasure of having Eric Rich do the job for us. He was extremely professional, courteous, personable and very experienced. He took extra care to make sure that what we decided on and how we did it, was the way to go for us and our needs. We truly appreciate the time and energy he put toward fixing our toilets. Really great guy!!! We even signed up for their extra warranty special for 2 years, and that will give us a lot of perks that are needed. Great job Rich and thanks so very much for all you did. Highly recommend their service!

I have used Mike Counsil Plumbing for the past 2 years and have been very satisfied. The technicians are always on time for the first visit and they spend their time listening to what my concerns are. They are efficient and friendly and clean up when they are done.
Over the past two weeks I have been having my whole house re-​plumbed. It was the original plumbing from 60 years ago. The technician, RJ, was on time for the first inspection and was very friendly, courteous and thorough. Throughout the entire process RJ would tell me what time he would be back the next day and he would call or text me when he was leaving the house for the day. In the morning he would walk me through what he had done the previous day and give me an overview of what he was going to work on that day. He was very conscientious about keeping the inside of my house as clean as possible and he tried to run pipes as efficiently as possible without having to cut away a lot of sheet rock. RJ and his team did a great job and I can’t wait to enjoy my new plumbing!
Hopefully I won’t have to utilize Mike Counsil Plumbing as frequently as I have in the past, but if I need a plumber, I’ll be calling Mike Counsil Plumbing & Rooter!

I’m updating my review of the company for a couple of reasons but the main reason is the personal attention Jaime gave to me.
1. After I called and complained, their customer service representative (Jaime) came out to talk to me.
2. He agreed with my complaint and personally saw to it that everything got fixed.
3. He was in constant contact with me, phone and email so I always knew what was going on and when things were being worked on.
4. They fixed a couple of the problems with the original installation that I wasn’t happy with.
5. He brought someone over to clean up the mess that I shouldn’t have had to complain about.
6. He was here for the inspection to make sure everything was done properly.
In summary, they made it right in every way possible. I can’t go all the way to 5 stars on principal because I had to go through some hassle to get to this point. If they had started this way, then they would have gotten 5 stars. I’ve noticed some people complain about their prices but I don’t think they were bad, the issue was simply service.
I hope Unilocal posts this review because for some reason they don’t post them all which doesn’t seem fair to any company getting reviewed. They should let you easily see everything, not only what they deem «relevant».

I spoke with both Mike Counsil and Glenn on the day my parents were discussing getting this unnecessary repair completed on their home for the initial cost of $ 28k. Glenn had actually suggested to my parents that they discuss this with someone, so they «don’t come after us.» So, my parents called me. It is at this point that contact was made with both Glenn and Mike Counsil the owner to discuss what Glenn was trying to sell them and the fact that the initial cost of $ 28k was not going to fix the problem and an additional sum of money would be required. Mike Counsil’s response on the phone was that he is not involved in the day to day operations of his business, and would have to get with Glenn. He said he would call me back. Instead, I got Glenn who then told me he would «discount» the additional repair. When I discussed with Glenn that discounting the additional repair that he says would fix their issue doesn’t resolve the fact that they were trying to charge them $ 28k for something that he clearly admitted on the phone would not have resolved the initial reason why they called in.
My parents had called them out to their house because the plumbing was backing up into the shower and tub. This was on the 20^th of January. They had no facilities to use. On January 21^st, James came out to see what the issue was. James proceeded to tell them that they needed to repipe under the house, but he needed to get Glenn out to the home to get them an estimate. Glenn was able to come on the 22^nd. Still, no working facilities for my parents. On the 22^nd of January Glenn and James came out and said the cost to repipe under the home because of all the raw sewage that was leaking was going to be $ 28,000. Mind you my parents still don’t have working facilities. Glenn manages to get my father, who is blind, to sign a contract he can’t read. They also ask my mother if someone else needs to be involved with this decision because «we don’t want them coming after us.» At this point, my parents have cut the initial check of $ 10,000 to this place to start the work. I call my parents and start talking to them about this, as Glenn had suggested. James then walks in and tells my mom that the $ 28,000 he was trying to rob her of won’t fix the problem — it’s going to be additional money to repipe out to the city AND to add insult to injury they won’t have facilities AGAIN. At this point I tell her to tell them to get off the property. Mike Counsil, the owner is then contacted, who then says he will call him back. Glenn calls my husband back and offers a discount to do the rest of the work. A discount to perform work that would actually fix the issue??? He doesn’t offer to bring any sort of facility out to my parents home for them to use — this has to be discussed. The initial quote of $ 28,000 wasn’t going to fix their issue. Glenn also texts my husband to say that the technician didn’t want to go under the house because of all the raw sewage so he didn’t start any work. My parents wrote their three day right to cancel and received their check back the following day.
Needless to say, I called another company out who then clears the line for my parents in less than 3 hours — after going without facilities for days. They took care of my parents first — then they actually put a camera down the line. Something Glenn failed to do. There actually is no issue with the pipes. I have photos of underneath the house that show zero sewage leaking and cast iron pipes that are not corroded as James’ invoice says. I have camera video showing that there is no issue with those pipes.
They tried to take advantage of a senior couple that has one party that English is not her native language and a gentleman that has eye sight issues. They lied about their diagnosis knowing a blind, crippled man would not be able to look under the home himself to see what they were lying about, nor did they bother to take photos, as the other company did to show any documentation about their diagnosis.
In addition, this review has now been removed twice with claims of this being second hand information. The photo below of Mike Counsil’s last four digits of his cell phone clearly indicate this is not first hand information. If conversations between myself and both Mike Counsil and Glenn do not equate first hand, I am not sure what does; especially when we are talking about $ 28k worth of work that isn’t going to fix the issue on a customer who speaks to a family member about this at Glenn’s advise. The scare thing thing is that this customer happens to be a senior, is blind, cannot walk well, let alone crawl under the house and see he was being lied too about. Kudos to Mike and Glenn!

I don’t have much experience with them, but when we had a simple leak in filter to the hot water heater, the plumber that came was very helpful, did more that what we asked of him.
He was supposed to only estimate how much it would cost to fix the leak and repipe the house, but since the leak was small enough he just fixed if free of charge.
