first and foremost i ordered my service through homedepot december 21 2015 technician named james came to my house and checked the furnace he said that the problem was the pressure switch and told me that they have to contact the manufacturer to order that specific part. i even asked him if he wanted me to call the manufacturer and he said that they will take of care of it and since its a holiday it’ll take longer for them to process everything. 2^nd week of january i havent heard from them so i called and the agent told me that they will get back on me since they don’t have any info. today i spoke with the agent from comfy and she told me that technician james said that he told me that i am the one who supposed to call and order the part from the manufacturer.
1. this is upsetting because he made a promise that they will take care of the business and will be able to do my furnace once they get the part. he even made me sign a paper stating all of my furnace’s serial no and production date etc. to submit to the manufacturer.
2. ive been freezing to death for almost two months only to find out that this technician will tell a lie and make up stories blaming me saying that im the one who supposed to order the parts.
3. this is probably how they treat their customers who doesn’t order services directly from them.
4. if can not do the job just admit it. if you forgot just tell it. you dont have to make up stories/​lie saying that its your customers responsibility to order the parts. from my my understanding, a five star Unilocal rated company with a good customer service doesn’t treat their customers like this.

I’m giving them 5 stars for fixing my furnace just had to wait two weeks for the part to arrive.

The owner of Comfy really cares about his business and customers. I found an issue with my heater and called Comfy, within two days they came out and fixed the problem free at cost, and promised to reimburse me for other costs as well.

Our house has been struggling to heat up for the last 4 years. We just had our second child and needed to get adequate heat for the baby! These guys not only added a new vent in my babies room, but also increased the heat in our entire house! Do not hesitate in trusting these people with your heating! HIGHLY recommend! Fast, polite, and great service!!!

Updated review. We finally made the decision to replace our home heater. The old heater is already a few dozen years old, and over the super cold Bay Area winter it decided to stop working again! Not only was the old heater only 80−85% efficient, but it was a total P.I.T.A. to access and change the air filter!
Comfy once again comes to the rescue! We bought their «Silver Package,» a Rheem 2-​Stage 100,000 BTU heater thats super quiet and starts up real fast. 95% efficient as well! The filter slides in and out from the front easily. The only downside is that you need to run two separate little ducts out the house — one for the flue gas and another for condensed water.
Installation was done by Franco and Hector and was completed pretty quickly — maybe 4 hours tops.

Gave us a great system at a great price. But what was wonderful was the consistent professionalism from initial quote through installation and even afterwards, when our roofers didn’t clean up a mess and it clogged the heater’s drain causing a backup, Abel came out and painstakingly cleaned water and made sure everything was right. Super happy!

Exactly 2 years ago we found Comfy (Abel) on Unilocal and asked him to look at our 8 year old furnace which would not start up. He came by, replaced a motor and 20 minutes after he was gone the same problem occurred. We had to fly out the next day and upon our return we contacted him. He came by and said it needed yet another motor and it would cost us another $ 300…already paid him $ 436. Poor diagnosis in the first place. I called J.C. Heating up (who is a Shapell sub — got their referral from their builder) to get a second opinion. They confirmed that the wrong motor was replaced. I was ready to have J.C. Heating replace it and take Comfy heating to small claims court. His smooth talking personality and my lack of desire to go to small claims court, gave in to replacing the second motor by Comfy. So I spent a total of $ 736 to Comfy plus $ 120 for the second opinion or $ 861 for a problem that could have been solved for $ 350 to $ 400.
This past weekend, 2 years later, the same problem reoccurs. I emailed Comfy and no response. I found someone else to work on it Sunday as it has been quite cold recently. I refrained from writing this for 2 years but I think Unilocal readers deserve to know that I am not really comfy with Mr. Abel. If there was a way to give him zero stars I would.

Comfy was very professional and efficient. Austin was punctual when he arrived to our home, showing up 15 minutes early. He was very intelligent and answered all of our questions right away. We received quotes from other companies, but Comfy had the best value! I love the idea that I’m supporting a local family business and I would recommend Comfy to my family and friends. Genuinely a very nice and hard-​working team!

The Comfy Heating & AC team was amazing. We live in a storybook home built in 1927. Our 32 year old gas furnace had to go. We received bids from Comfy and one of their local competitors and decided that we were most comfortable with Comfy. We are so glad we did. The installation team worked hard in tight spaces and made sure to get the new furnace and related duct work installed in one day so that we wouldn’t have to go without heat during a cold spell. We love the new heat, thermostat, cleaner air, and lower energy bill. Highly recommend!

We Called Comfy after looking at multiple companies. Austin came out to assess our specific situation. They provided a great solution. We needed new ductwork, which included the abatement of existing asbestos ductwork by a 3^rd party abatement company. The process was seamless, everything went as planned and on time, the airflow is well balanced. They informed us of a rebate program which they did all the paperwork for. Claudio and the installation crew did a great job. and everyone was always on time. We would refer them to anyone in the Bay Area needing heating or a/​c work done!

In September 2015 we had Comfy replace our 29 year old furnace. As luck would have it, the new furnace stopped working the morning of Wednesday, Nov 25 immediately before the Thanksgiving holiday and the coldest day of the year to date. We called Comfy and James appeared at our house within an hour. He found the problem right away, not the furnace but a safety breaker in our home’s electrical cabinet was going bad. In a few minutes he replaced it and we were able to enjoy Thanksgiving.

We could not be happier with the workmanship or integrity of this company. We had a mini split system installed and are extremely pleased with the outcome. Abel, the company owner, always made sure that all of our concerns and questions were answered and came out several times during the project whenever we had any concerns. The main workers, Claudio and Antonio were kind, efficient and tidy. Their concerns always seemed to be that we would be happy with the outcome of the project. We would not hesitate to recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation should the need arise.

They are not responding after visiting our house. We want to replace our ducts. So we called them based on the Unilocal reviews. The schedule process went very smooth. At appoitment day the guy called Austin came. He just asked a few questions and said he would email me the quotes for new furnace system including duct work by the end of that day. I didn’t get anything at that day. Then I called him next day and no answer, so I left a message. No response. Then I sent him an email and no response either. Wondering they’re cheating the review system.
Update: Austin respond my review and the ball starts rolling now. I will update again after the job done.
Update2: I guess it’s fate. My email didn’t get delivered and it caused some miscommunication between us. Let’s call off.

Husband and I decided to install central AC in our East Bay home. I looked on Unilocal and called the following 5-​star-​rated HVAC companies: Comfy, Atlas, Spot Free, Triton. My dad also recommended I check Costco who subcontracts to Service Experts in Dublin.
We went with Comfy because they were the absolute best in their communication and follow-​up to questions during the bid process. Our home is on a small lot, and our city has very unclear setback requirements. Every HVAC company said the requirement was different (e.g., 3 feet, 4 feet, 5 feet). Since my house is close to the property line, it was important that we understand exactly what the setback requirement was so we could pick the right unit. Comfy went the extra mile and called their inspection contacts in my city to understand exactly what was current «code».
Side note: Triton was great to communicate with as well, but they only installed Carrier, and we wanted Lennox so that was the reason we didn’t go with them. Had Carrier made a unit that would fit in the footprint we desired, Triton would have been a top contender.
The other companies either didn’t get back to me or were thousands more than Comfy’s quote for the exact same work and Lennox equipment. I questioned all companies on the line-​item work activities to make sure I was comparing apples to apples, and I was. So, Comfy won based on BOTH quote AND service/​communication.
Fast-​forward to day of installation… The installation had several moderate mistakes, but no one is perfect. We took pictures of our concerns, emailed Comfy, and the owner of Comfy (Abel Viera) immediately addressed our concerns and sent someone out within 2 days to correct everything. We are super satisfied with the end result.

We contacted some companies to give us estimate for installing new furnace and air conditioning for our 1950’s home. The house hasn’t got a proper heater nor air conditioning. They gave us quotations and my sister and I decided to go to Comfy Heating because of Matt Miller’s excellent communication skills. He was not pushy, never tried to sell us extra and unecessary high end brand product. Matt recommended what might be the right and the best according to our needs, and that makes sense.
On the day of installation, Matts crew came right on time, they introduced themselves very professionally. Franco and the other guy and I went over some details and soon they got started.
These trade guys are seriously doing their job, going up and down the ladder, crawling and snaking wires and carrying heavy materials. They are careful, tidy and very professional throughout the installation. Even when I had some issues here and there, they were prompt to address it professionally.
We are happy with their work, their time management.

After researching products, my husband had some very specific requests for a new HVAC system. Comfy delivered. Austin came to our house, listened and checked out our system, and then gave us an estimate. Then, the team installed exactly what we wanted. Overall, the Comfy team is very knowledgeable, keeps commitments, and responds quickly to issues. Highly recommended!

We bought a Comfy Heating HVAC system back in 2013 to replace our original system. They were very good people to work with. The system was installed on-​time and the workers were swift and very informative when it came to operating the new system and ideas for additional ways to preserve the overall system. Furthermore, the original sales person committed to us a special perk. When we went to request that special token the sales person was no longer at the company. I shared the email exchange with Angie (Comfy) and they honored that commitment to us. Now that is customer service! Thank you Comfy…

Well after 20 years I think it was time for a new furnace. What an easy process at Comfy Heating. Everybody was so helpful and easy to deal with. Austin was very helpful and explained all the process. The Installers were great and very effective.

I had a issue with my heater blowing out cold air and called various hvac companies and Comfy Heating and Air was the only company that could accomodate Saturday appointments. I made an appointment for over a week out and the evening before I received a text confirming the appointment for the next morning.
A technician came out and diagnosed the problem of a bad thermostat. I agreed on the final price with parts/​labor which was reasonable. They tested it and left with a happy and repeat customer for the future.
From the beginning of making the appt to the end of fixing the problem. They exceeded my expectations and were polite, professional and knowledgeable.

We have been doing improvements and repairs on our newly-​purchased home for just over a year now. After a string of disappointments with contractors or tradesmen not returning calls, not sending quotes as promised, or not even showing up, we had zero expectations when searching for an HVAC firm to service our heating system.
Comfy delivered! From the time of our initial conversation, we were able to get a service call as soon as the next day. Abel showed up precisely on time, and was friendly and professional. Within a very short time, both of our heaters were inspected, and our problem was fixed at exactly the same reasonable cost that we expected.
Our house is now comfy (pun intended) and if we need services again, we know who to call.
