History

Established in 1972.

Built with thick walls of cork Farb’s Bakery was originally a storage and distribution center for local vegetables. It wasn’t until 1972 that Farb’s was established. And Over 35 years later we are happy to still be a part of our beautiful little town, San Luis Obispo.

It’s hard to find exquisite, yet preservative free bread around town and knowing that it’s coming from a family own business makes it even better. My favorite is sourdough, croissant and orange swirl. Orange swirl makes the best French toast!

This is a WHOLESALE bakery. They don’t normally sell directly to consumers. We stopped by and talked to the owner (I think) and she was super nice.
New Frontiers does sell their bread to consumers, as do a few other places around. They apparently do some business to caterers as well.
I hear that if you stop by after 4pm they’ll sell you extra bread if they have it, but haven’t tried this yet myself.

Farb’s Bakery makes the freshest and tastiest bread you have ever had. Their Parisian loaf is to die for and their Provencal is authentic and delicious. I love this place and I love their bread!

Farb’s bakes the best bread in the world! I would sell my soul for a loaf of Provencal. My husband is crazy for the Orange Swirl, If you want the freshest, best bread for your restaurant or event, Farbs is the only way to go!
