Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen

Not awesome. Pretty standard pizza. But I did appreciate that they were willing to deliver to my hospital room for my family.

Vibe: Small pizza shop, great for take out or delivery.
Food: The pizzas here are delicious. The toppings offered surpass any other place in the area. Personal favorites include pepperoni with sliced meatballs or mozzarella, ricotta, and basil pizza.
Service: If the service was better and more consistent this place would be four stars for me. Unfortunately, the delivery service is very unpredictable. Sometimes your food will arrive in under half an hour and other times it takes an hour or even more.
Overall: Delicious pizza place on the westside that is definitely worth trying.

I like it.
A very unassuming, low-​key place. You go up to the counter to order and pay and then the food is brought to you. Standard décor, service was friendly.
The Pizza: It was quite delicious and everyone in our party enjoyed it. It’s on par with Classic Pizza (on Pico) and about the same price range. It’s also on par with NY&C Pizza, but reasonably priced.
I would have rated it five stars, but will go with four stars for having no customer restroom…
Still, a delicious pie at a reasonable price!

First, you have to understand pizza as Italians prepare it. Thick crust, drenched with tomato sauce and buried under a thick blanket of cheese is not the Italian style. Italians prefer a thin crust, light toppings, and a moderate amount of fresh mozzarella, so that each ingredient stands alone: You actually taste the breadiness of the crust, the sauce presents a fresh tomato flavor, and the herbs, spices, and toppings enhance but not overpower.
Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen makes superb Italian style pizza. The meal is simple. Wine, a light white for example, goes well. My husband and I shared a salad and a pizza and found it a nice supper.
Service was slow. I think our pizza got miss delivered to a different table that ordered the same thing later. Our server kept hovering around our table, as if wondering why it was empty for so long (we wondered the same thing). She apparently sorted out the difficulty back at the preparation line and we did eventually receive our order. Mistakes happen, and she was good at monitoring the situation.
If you want a true Italian pizza experience, go to Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen.

This place is a hole in the wall place on Wilshire. If you’re thinking California Pizza Kitchen, you’d be wrong making that implicit association. The pizza selection was pretty standard and not expensive nor cheap. It’s probably the definition of an average 3 star pizza place. This place made the pizza very quickly and sold pizzas that were thin crust.
I probably wouldn’t come back when there’s such a plethora of other options around the area.

Poor customer service! I waited way too long for 2 slices of pizza, when I got home and opened the box, I found they had burned them to the point of being inedible. I called them to see if they would deliver slices I could actually eat, and they said they were too busy… Not worth it!

The one good thing about this place is that it took maybe five minites for the pizza to come out. Aside from that, I’m not a super big fan of thin crust. I think if I had a choice, I’d settle for a $ 1 slice elsewhere. At least I’d get more bang.

These guys were amazing they really helped me out when I needed it. Totally recommend it not only was there customer service outstanding but the pizza was delicious. All around amazing place highly recommended and will more than likely return!!!

Just like back home in NYC! They are only missing the garlic powder!

Best whole in the wall in Santa Monica. Try the pizza and you will never eat anywhere else.
My favorite is the veggie pizza. So fresh it’s delicious.

I absolutely love this restaurant. They have the best pizza in town and their calzones are amazing. It’s the sauce… No, it’s the dough, or maybe the oven. Whatever it’s is… it’s goooood! They deliver and they’re quick. I would give them 7stars, seriously. Enjoy!!!

Food took 90 minutes and was cold. I asked for crispy wings and I got cold rubbery chicken legs. Will never order from this place again. Gross.
When I called to complain, a old man told me that it wasn’t their fault it was mine for ordering from them. He told me not to order from them again. He then proceeded to cuss at me.
Disgusting food, disgusting service and a grody old pervert man for a manager. Stay away from this shit hole.

My current go-​to for pizza delivery in Santa Monica. It’s easy, consistent, and reliable.
Pizza is thin crust. I usually order simple cheese or pepperoni and it does just fine. I’ve gotten the italian salad before but would skip that again.
Not my favorite pizza ever but good enough for the area!

I tried this place the other day for the first time. We had their chicken pesto calzone & veggie pizza. Omg they were both amazing! The staff were also friendly & helpful.
This is officially my new favorite Italian place :)

Let me preface that the pizza is good I ordered it many times.
Tonight I caught them on an off night maybe and I understand, it happens. I have nine years in the service industry and I can sympathize, what I will not put up with is the people who should be responsible behave in a reprehensible manner. Let alone the owner. I am a foreigner as well and I worked on my English and my manners so I can express myself in a polite way especially with clients.
If you have a bad night stay home. Don’t take it out on customers, especially when the reason I’m calling is you screwed up the order. If you are not in the refund business then get the order right. This happened once before but your staff (a lady) was professional about it and we went on our merry way. You acting like a thug is not business savvy.
Howard Schultz (Starbucks CEO) said «we are not in the coffee business serving people, we are in the people business serving coffee»
Use this if you want to stay in business. Like I said I have over nine years in the service industry and establishment far bigger than yours went under for crap like this. Wise up.

Positives:
1. Good pizza, stuff like pepperoni sometimes very oily, drips through your hand, their pizza was less oil and no drips.
2. My favorite Mexican Coke is relatively cheap at $ 2.
Negatives:
1. Ordered online, went for pickup, 4guys were in there, nobody say hi to me, I was standing at front of counter for 2 minutes, WTF?!
2. I entered my cc info. when I ordered, but the guy asked me to swipe my cc again, I asked why? The other guy looked like manager explained that he can charge manually but easy to swipe with my cc. Wait, meaning the website is not secured, that’s scary, sounds like 90’s.
3. In an effort to reduce waste, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, plastic utensils, napkins provided by request only… I like the concept, I put «Parmesan cheese & red pepper flakes please» in memo when I ordered, actually the guy was reading the printed order sheet but I didn’t get those, so I asked again, the manager said you should ask us when you are here. Okay then, what does memo section in the system? What you do when you deliver? You don’t read it, and how can you respond on customers request?
4. The guy said get your coke from fridge… Why you guys are that lazy? You can get one and hand to customer, I felt like I’m stealing it…

Came in for lunch, service was awkward. Cheese pizza tasted kinda stale. Blanco specialty slice was nothing special. The crust was good, but the dough/​pizza needed more sauce and more salt on both slices.
No love, bland toppings, but great crust.
I’ve also been spoiled with New York pizza almost my whole life so I can spot imposters.

Greek Salad is delicious!
Pizza is fabulous and made with a thinner crust unlike any Deep Dish Pizza. Optional by request, these guys will custom make anything you want from Calzones to dinner plates small or large portions, sandwiches, pastas and Pizzas. Prices are reasonable and has a «hole-​in-​the-​wall» type of feel. Take out is recommended and if you call ahead like I do, average time for almost any type of order is 10 – 15 minutes.
Been a local Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen customer for a few months now and look forward to eat as healthy as I can with their salad selection. The only catch is the fact that they display delicious pizza and dessert up front and makes one want to try it =]
Anyone in town and looking for a quick slice or delicious lunch should stop in to this spot!
Parking is a challenge so I recommend you walk in from the Rite-​Aid parking lot (across the street) or even street parking if you’re lucky.

Really, I’d give it a 3.5, but it’s not accurate to round down to a 3 star.
I used their website to order two pizzas for take out. Simple, straightforward ordering, easy to customize their toppings on the gourmet pizzas, and allowed either cash or credit card payments.
I was a little skeptical of the gourmet pizza pricing ($ 20 for a large), but it met and exceeded expectations. We ordered the veggie nuovo and house special. Crust was thin, not quite New York style but definitely reminiscent, with just the right amount of crunch. Highlights are the sauce and veggies. Fresh, flavorful sauce. Fresh veggies– and the thin breaded eggplant was pretty great, just the right amount, awesome with the broccoli. I was impressed that the veggies on each pizza were neither soggy nor crunchy– cooked just the right amount.
Meat lovers liked the veggie nuovo, but preferred the house special. Excited to try their calzones next!

There are no surprises at Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen. It sells pizza-​by-​the-​slice or whole pies … with a well-​lit dining area and TV to enjoy the food. The thin crust pizzas aren’t quite New York-​style, but the average pizza will hit the spot when you are in this area of Santa Monica and want a quick bite of pizza.
A medium pizza with Fresh Mozzarella, Sliced Meatballs, and Jalapenos for around $ 17 was my custom creation. It was ready in under 15 minutes which was nice. The Tomato-​based sauce was too watery and runny for my tastes with very little spice or flavor; however, the Meatballs and Jalapenos helped add the gusto.
Street parking appeared to be the only option, but I’m not 100% sure. I found a spot on a nearby side street. The guys behind the counter did their jobs efficiently. There isn’t much to the process, so, don’t expect a lot of service. Basically, order your pizza (or slices), wait a few minutes, pickup your pizza, and eat. Easy-​peasy pizza.
If you work or live nearby there are a dozen pizza joints. Santa Monica Pizza Kitchen won’t be as trendy or cheap as some, but it is consistent and available when you want standard pizza without a lot of pomp and stress.
