Heather Trimm Photography specializes in on-​location portraits of your life’s milestones (babies, kids, high-​school seniors, anniversaries, etc.) from a photojournalist’s perspective. Our wedding and engagement images are candid and timeless.

History

Established in 2003.

Is my business established the year I got my first paid gig? When I became self-​employed? When I got a business license? When I first picked up a camera? When I opened a business checking account?

I’ve decided that my timeline starts the year I graduated from college (WWU ’03), and started my career in photography. Before that I was a student, of photography, journalism, and creative writing. I started out at a mid-​market newspaper as a staff photojournalist, and that was also the year I photographed my first wedding.

The rest… as they say… is history.

Since 2008, I’ve been working for myself and I love my job! While I sometimes miss the daily deadlines of a newspaper, I love documenting the milestones of my clients and curating their story.

I’d be honored to be your family’s photojournalist.

I love historical photos.

I imagine the life of the subjects and what they are feeling. I love how fashion can give an image a sense of time or place. How you can see a little of who they grew up to be from your fiancé’s baby photos, as you imagine what features your kids will inherit. I love seeing our world in color, but often forget that the past wasn’t in black and white. I love how technology has changed, but a great image is still a great image.

As your photographer, I’ll be making some of your family’s future historical photos. I’m looking for those small looks that you give each other that pass by in an instant. I know you will love your photos as much in 50 years, as you do the day I share them with you.
