Honest to Goodness is your experienced personal chef service that helps busy professionals and anyone with special dietary needs who want to enjoy restaurant-​quality meals at home each week and for home entertaining occasions.

We help those who don’t know how to cook, don’t know what to cook, or don’t have time to cook. Services include healthy meals prepared in your home, grocery delivery, menu planning, dinner parties, cooking lessons, kitchen organization, and more.

Laura’s main passions are food, cooking, and travel. As Owner of Honest to Goodness, she employs her passions, skills, and experiences to make your life a little easier when it comes to food. She helps those who don’t know how to cook, don’t know what to cook, or don’t have time to cook by preparing healthy meals in your home.

Laura is a social-​preneur and consummate professional whose career has included progressive catering and event planning in private clubs, hotels, and fine dining restaurants. She has sold and planned nearly $ 11 million in corporate, social, and non-​profit events for as many as 1200 guests. Laura has been an active member of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) since 2003 and most recently served as President of the Greater Seattle Area Chapter. Through NACE, she achieved the coveted Certified Professional Catering Executive (CPCE) designation in 2008 and was also awarded with the honor of Best Catered Event of the Year 2009.

Chef Laura was absolutely outstanding! She anticipated all of our needs for my daughter’s wedding reception. She and her staff went out of their way to provide delicious food, impeccable service and even picked up dishes from other selected restaurants along the way. I love working with Honest to Goodness. I hired them to keep me on task during my busiest season of the year. I had just lost 25 lbs and didn’t want to gain it all back because I didn’t have time to cook good meals. They really helped made sure I stayed on track with my healthy eating habits. With all that good food in my fridge I was always motivated to go home to eat! Chef Marie’s meals were always amazingly delicious. Their service is fantastic and I highly recommend Honest to Goodness.

Chef Kari is splendid and we intend to request her in the future! She took a fairly challenging meal plan (gluten free and Whole 30) and made it delicious and interesting! She worked very hard to be to efficient without skimming on quality.
Honest to Goodness has great customer service and puts a personal touch on everything. I would highly recommend this company for catering, meal planning, prep or cooking. You won’t be disappointed! We wish we could hire them every week!

I have been using Honest to Goodness for over a month now. I am very pleased with the service. We are busy working parents with two young kids. The service is affordable, professional and met our needs. Laura the owner of the company runs a tight ship and has a dedicated approach to ensuring our needs are met. We personally worked with Shelby one of her chefs. Shelby from the moment we met her has been professional, hardworking, and a great cook. She carefully understood our various needs (allergies, dietary restrictions, etc.) and took the work out of meal planning. She understands a range of dietary restrictions but still manages to cook delicious foods that meet our needs. We arrive home weekly to a collection of meals in our refrigerator. Items are clearly labeled with instructions and the kitchen was spotless. Mostly we enjoyed that Shelby is creative and thoughtful in her meals (which are healthy as well!).

TGI Friday’s quality at Herbfarm prices
Our cook (to call her a chef is an insult to all chefs) arrived 30 minutes late, disheveled and disorganized. We knew we were in for a terrible evening when she told us she had shopped at whole foods and PCC. We were flummoxed as to why product was not purchased at pike place market rather than over-​priced, poor quality supermarket chains. Our worst fears were confirmed when she pulled out boxed vegetable stock and herbs in a plastic box. Any good chef will tell you that better, fresher ingredients lead to a better meal. We had utilized other in home chefs and each of them had brought home made stock and fresh cut herbs from their own gardens. If our cook had communicated with us we could have provided fresh herbs from our garden and homemade stock from our freezer.
For this mediocre meal we were charged $ 850. This did not include wine pairings. If you add in the cost of the wine we provided we could have gone to the Herbfarm and had a 9 course meal with wine pairings for what we paid honest to goodness for a meal that we could have ordered at TGIFriday’s.
Honest to goodness is an amateurish attempt to provide home meals.

We had Honest to Goodness cook for a very large holiday gathering of 38 people and they did an outstanding job. They handled appetizers, dinner, dessert, and late night snacks all while keeping the kitchen sparkling clean, the service personal, and the food outstanding. The entire experience just felt wonderful, special, and worth every dollar spent. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

I highly recommend Chef Laura and her team of highly accomplished Chefs! We had a dinner party for 10 and Chef Kari did an outstanding job! Three of the ten guests were vegetarian and she catered to the delights of all guests. Very professional, flexible and approachable. Food was excellent! Will definitely call on them again!!!

We are so pleased we picked Honest to Goodness for our multiple-​milestone family celebration recently. Laura was an absolute pleasure to work with ahead of the event. She and her team planned menus and made other suggestions relating to the overall look and feel of the event. Laura sent two of her chefs, Kari and Shelby, who worked together to create a wonderful menu, for which we received many compliments. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented. Appetizers were plentiful and delicious. Our Pretty in Pink Salad was a treat for the eyes and the palate. Dessert was an excellent lemon cake that complemented the filet entrée perfectly. The chefs also worked very well with our bartender, collaborating to make sure everything ran smoothly. For once I was able to be a relaxed hostess who enjoyed the evening. Everything was taken care of. I so appreciated their expertise and professionalism.
We will definitely use Honest to Goodness again when entertaining larger groups. I recommend them without reservation.

Chef Laura is absolutely AMAZZZZZING!
We were honored to have Chef Laura prepare the dinner for our small party for our wedding (around 15 people). She was incredibly accommodating for our family of very picky eaters and even was able to produce dishes for our gluten-​free/​dairy-​free niece!
Did I mention that she also prepared menus for our party? We’ll have those for keepsakes when we’re old to remember our special day together!
Talk about going above and beyond… I can’t say enough wonderful things! Chef Laura is amazing… I’m referring her to all of my family and friends… I’ll also be using her services any time I’m in need of an incredible chef!

We recently hosted an open house at our showroom, and had Honest To Goodness provide the small food items. Chef Laura came in early to make sure everything meet our goals, and presented the food very well. She stuck around and soaked up all the positive feedback our guests had about the fare.

I have had the good fortune to have enjoyed Chef Laura’s food on several occasions, and I have been impressed with her innovation and the quality of her work. I have seen a number of her recipes that make me envious of the clients for whom she was making those dishes.
Laura can take a simple meal like oatmeal and turn it into a delightfully tasty dish, and her focus on healthy, flavorful food is great. While I have not experienced Chef Laura’s weekly service for clients, I have heard reports from very satisfied clients.

I am a very busy small business owner. I have no time to plan and cook healthy meals. I use Honest to Goodness to make my breakfast and lunches during the week. I LOVE THIS SERVICE! I cannot express enough how much this has helped me save time, de-​stress and eat well and holy s*** the food is amazing. My favorite is her marinated flank steak with a veggie hash. Each meal is carefully planned and the flavors are amazing. WORTH EVERY PENNY and very affordable. If you add up all the money you waste on unhealthy foods because you didn’t plan and groceries that get thrown out because you didn’t use them in time before they went bad, the money you spend using Honest to Goodness is less than you would spend eating out and throwing out spoiled food. Chef Laura comes to your house cooks it all for you, packages it and leaves your kitchen SPOTLESS. She has won my spoiled picky taste buds and my hard earner money. To anyone considering using a personal chef, do the math… It actually saves you money.

Honest to Goodness is very professional.
Their goal is clearly to satisfy their clients. They’re very good at accommodating clients’ needs and putting the focus on clients’ needs.
The prices are great.
They’re open to suggestions and revisions for recipes.
They don’t ask clients to use clunky online tools that make things difficult for them.
Laura somehow manages to be cheerful with clients and not complain about their requests.
Laura has really good organizational skills; my kitchen and pantry are easier to work in now.

I have known Laura for some time now as I was introduced to her through a colleague. Laura is professional, caring and kind. Not only is she a great cook, but she is also willing to cook you whatever you need for your diet and still make it delicious! So, even though you may have gluten, dairy, nut or soy allergy, she can work through it, and make you some meals that will blow your mind! Plus, she comes to your house, and cleans up after herself, and does the shopping. Could it get any better? There’s no more excuse to not have healthy and delicious meals for the week waiting for you when you get home!

Laura has been coming to my home and cooking for me for a few months now. She comes once a week and prepares meals and snacks for the week ahead. It has been so helpful for me since I am very busy with work and a baby AND I was trying to stay on a low carb diet. If i dont have things prepared, Ill just grab anything so this has been a good decision for me. Laura is great. She is very nice and personable and easy to be around. She is also great at working with my diet needs and showing me how to make some things.
