Local Craft Distillery Tours

Make sure to schedule a nap after taking this tour. My wife and I have been on plenty of wine and beer tasting excursions, but this was a first. The tasting was informative and plentiful. The tour guide was great, and the shuttle van first class. We had a great time and would recommend this tour to our friends.

Local Craft offers a one of a kind tour in Seattle that is not only a ton of fun, but super informative on the craft distilling movement. Very cool to hear from three local distillers on their own personal passions, taste their booze and enjoy some tasty snacks from LCT while they whisk you across Seattle. Great for couples, small groups and probably an amazing corporate team event if you booked the whole van, which I think seats about 10 people.

If you want a fun, delicious touring experience, DEFINITELY take the Seattle Speakeasy Distillery Tour. The first benefit is obviously someone driving you from distillery to distillery so you don’t have to worry about someone in your party being the DD, but through that activity, you get to stop by a handful of fantastic distilleries in the area, see how their products are made, and sample some delicious vodkas, gins, whiskeys and more along the way. Plus, as an added bonus, you receive a couple handmade cocktails en route to the distilleries, AND yummy local snacks. This is a definite must-​do in the area, and something that I, as a resident, will be going on again.

What an amazing company! We booked them for my husband’s birthday party as a surprise and it was a hit! We had an entire van to our private party and everyone had such an amazing time! Between the tasting and the education behind these distilleries you may not have noticed before, it was a fun environment and safe to get a lil tipsy in. Awesome time and I’ll recommend it to anyone!!!

Props, props, and Mo Props! Love the craft cocktails they start you off with in the van, love the snacks, and most of all, love the experience.
Eric was a great host, and when there was a mixup with the first distillery, he got us into 3 Howls, and then bought us a bottle to make up for it. Santa Claus doesn’t have that kind of customer service.
It was a ton of fun getting to meet the distillers and sample everything. I had no idea how vibrant the community was and now I’ll definitely be looking for local labels next time I buy.
If you get the chance, it’s worth every penny.

Amazing experience — a must do. Snacks provided between each visit. Everything from sausage and kraut to a delicious cupcake. Friendly and knowledgable tour guise, and amazing distilleries. Well worth the money !

I purchased one of these tours after hearing about it on TV, then reading the reviews. I purchased it for my hubby’s birthday & thought getting him an «experience» versus a gift would be a nice change. This experience was awesome! We both really had a great time. Our guide, Craig, was so nice, sociable, funny, knowledgeable and just added to making the experience that much more enjoyable! The distilleries we visited were just as great! It gave us a new found respect for our local experts. These guys really put a lot of love into literally each bottle they produce. They were all passionate about explaining their experiences & processes. I will recommend the Local Craft Distillery Tours over & over again. And my hubby & I plan on doing the tour again, as well!

I went on this tour and visited 3 Howls Distillery, Letterpress, and Mischief.
I didn’t expect to be wowed by the tour, as I don’t particularly have a discerning palette for craft cocktails. However, I ended up making purchases and having a wonderful time. It felt good to support these local distilleries, and the product we were supporting was very quality. It was great to see the heart these folks put into their craft.
If i had to mention a favorite, I loved the structure of the tour. We got to sample a lot of spirits and came back to our tour vehicle to find locally-​concocted snacks on our seats to sober us up a little in between tours. The tour did not seem too long or too short either. We started at 11:30 and finished up in around 3 hours time.
Our tour guide was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable as well.

Absolutely marvelous! This tour takes you in high style to some of the greatest examples of local craft distilling with artists who are incredibly dedicated and passionate about their crafts and products. Highlights the very best of what Seattle is all about. Even if you aren’t much of a fan of liquor, the pride and energy that the owners and operators of these distilleries put into their products is palpable and can be be appreciated on smell and mouth feel alone — liqueurs that feel like silk and smell like a bouquet of fresh herbs. And, to me, the importance lies in the use and show-​casing of local Washington/​Oregon ingredients. And the Tour is a perfect match for this level of dedication and pride. All of the details are right there and mesh with perfection — tasty treats from local artists, clean and comfy vehicles, appropriate music and the talented and charming guides that make this one of the best values I have enjoyed in years. I look forward to spreading the word and quickly booking another tour — even if it is just for me!

I’ve been a member of Unilocal since 2009, and it took 4 years and a tour with Local Craft Tours to inspire my very first review.
Local Craft Tours is, in my opinion, one of the best tours you could book in Seattle. I normally stay away from tours when I’m traveling, but I couldn’t resist the draw of a speakeasy tour with gin and whiskey. My boyfriend and I decided to start off our vacation with Local Craft Tour so we could get a feel for the city, and we were not disappointed.
We had the opportunity to visit neighborhoods that we wouldn’t have been able to visit on our own (due to the length of our vacation). We got to ride around in a comfy Mercedes Sprinter Van with a small group of great people. I loved talking to the proud owners of each distillery and hearing the stories behind their product – there’s nothing like talking to people who are passionate about what they do.
Tara, our lovely tour guide, provided us with snacks from local vendors and craft cocktails between each stop. She also suggested some great bars for my boyfriend and I to check out while we were visiting. Thanks, Tara!
I had some of the best gin, whiskey, and limoncello I’ve ever tasted. Had it not been for TSA regulations, my suitcase would have been full of bottles from each distillery. Book a tour with Local Craft Tours and you will not be disappointed!

As a newbie to Seattle and hospitality/​tourism guru I was ultra-​compelled to jump on a Local Craft Tour! Seattle within the prohibition era fascinates me and bootleg distilleries played a huge role in creating such an eclectic piece of local history. Thus history repeats itself, minus the illegalities, as distilleries are approved, hip and back on the scene circa 2013 style.
Fully booked via great people with at minimum one thing in common, we met our fabulous guide, Tara, who escorted us in the coolest Mercedes Sprinter Van! To get everyone in the mood there was a premade cocktail waiting in a mason jar accompanied by period music to set the tone and offer a cool vibe. We started the tour in the neighborhood of SODO with «Letterpress», makers of the best Limoncello ever tasted and would likely make even Danny DeVito cry. Working our way through the city, the next stop was in Fremont where mischief is clearly an acceptable practice at «Mischief» testing quite possibly the smoothest whiskey on the planet. Finally, Queen Anne where we met not only the distiller, but mascot CHO (just take the tour) at «Sound Spirits», producers of the most indescribable vodka in the best way possible. In between stops we were privy to phenomenal little bites from local restaurants which seemed to magically appear on our seats upon return to the sprinter. Total perfect way to cleanse the pallet! Ending with a very handy souvenir offering from the tour operator was simply the best surprise of all (again, just take the tour)!
Thanks to Tara Fuller and team, Seattle distilleries are coming full circle and getting extra special exposure among tourists and locals! This is a must-​try experience for sure!

Landed in Seattle, took the awesome light rail, checked in, grabbed a cup of coffee, and went on this awesome tour! Second time in the Emerald City and another wonderful, wonderful time!
Tara was great! She was friendly and explained the local scene very well. All of the local craft distilleries we visited were awesome — friendly staff and they take great pride in their product AND their city/​state.
Honestly, it is worth the 2.5−3.0 hours of your time to hang out with good company and to drink some good craft booze!

Most amazing tour I’ve ever taken.yes. The 3 places we visited were fantastic, and we wound up buying something from each, with plans to go back for more. Learning about the different distillers, techniques, recipes, their opinions on how things SHOULD be done… epic.
My husband and I are generally not hard liquor drinkers. That may change, now that we know about the distilleries we visited. Limoncello to die for, a mint liqueur with a roundness and smooth flavor that’s nearly indescribable, and a semi-​sweet chocolate that tasted like a proper chocolate bar… yum.
The opportunity to try the snacks and clear the palate somewhat between beverages was perfect. (I do recommend eating a good meal/​snack before the tour, or you might be too fuzzy to enjoy the last place!) Craig was a funny, interesting tour guide, and was very deft at handing us over to the real experts at each stop.
The illicit fun of sipping a whiskey/​coffee/​kahlua out of a mason jar @ 60 MPH is not to be discounted, either. The 2 cocktails served in the van were delicious, and I am so glad the recipes were provided!

So, this is my first review. This tour was just THAT FUN.
Firstly, they pick you up in a huge van and THEY GIVE YOU A CRAFT BEVERAGE. AT 3.30PM! And we got popcorn. Togarashi popcorn. Following sipping (read: slurping) my drink (raspberries, chocolate bitters, lime???) we landed at the first distillery which has possibly the best limoncello in existence. Two tastings here — vodka (unflavored) and limoncello (not syrupy and SUPER delicious)!
Back to the van and — surprise! There’s sausage and sauerkraut on my seat! Ohhhh yummy!!! Next distillery took us to Fremont with our tour guide (Craig!) pointing out fun places. Best Chicago style pizza? A speakeasy? The Theo chocolate factory? Check, check, and check! The second distillery had 4 tastings — 2 whiskies, 1 vodka, and 1 gin. REALLY COOL STILLS! All copper and shiny and pretty. My friend and I took a pretty silly picture (cuz that’s what we do). At the end of the time at this location, we even got a free thanks for visiting parting gift!
And back to the van. THIS TIME WE GOT CUPCAKES!!! The fat kid in my was super happy at this point — I got a pancake and bacon cupcake. It even had bacon bits on top! Of course, I bit it before I got a picture, but you guys should just be happy I didn’t shove it into my craw and giddily giggle myself into oblivion. This scrumptious bite o’ heaven came with another craft drink! And this one had coffee in it! Perfect with a pancake and bacon cupcake, I must say. I slurped mine down like the greedy Gus that I am. And then I drank my friend’s as well. Cuz it was that yummy.
The last distillery was my favorite. I wasn’t really paying attention to where we were going (mostly cuz of cupcake and coffee alcohol happiness) but we had 5 tastings here — 1 vodka, 1 gin (omg delicious!), 1 chocolate liquor (which I bought), 1 mint liquor (which I would’ve bought but wasn’t available), and 1 herbed liquor. The gin was the best gin I’ve ever tasted and I would’ve bought it but then I got distracted by a kitty cat in the corner. Ok, maybe not a corner. He was sitting on a couch. I promptly went over to pet him, returning to the bar for the delicious alcoholic offerings. The chocolate liquor wasn’t too overpoweringly sweet as many can be, the mint was like an alcoholic candy cane in my mouth (totally delicious, can’t wait for it to be available), and the herbed one was really complex.
At this point, I was pretty happy. And tipsy. Cuz I don’t drink very much on a regular basis (yeah, I’m boring). We returned to the van (no stumbling in my 4in wedges! So proud) and TADA! There’s a baggie with a tshirt on my seat! Super soft. I’ll be sure to rock it around town!
All in all, a super cool tour with speakeasy music with an awesome tour guide (he traded cat pictures with me teehee!) and alcohol. Perfect for the tourist or the local! When else will you see the insides of your favorite Washington made liquor?!

This is an adult alternative to «Ride the Duck» out of Seattle. Except with booze! And no quackers! (I kid, I kid, Ride the Duck is amazing too).
I was a little reluctant to go initially bc I had been working way too much and could think of nothing but being lazy and going to sleep, but this both sparked my mind with cool, interesting facts about speakeasy’s (which, I may add, I had never been in before and really knew nothing about!), and about the hard work that goes into each glass of spirits. Ultimately, it gave me insight and a different outlook regarding the experience of drinking and why I should continue to support local. I never have considered myself to have a good palette, but it truly was remarkable to try the different liquors each speakeasy had, and what went into creating each.
Apart from a fun different experience, I now feel like I’m an empowered, knowledgeable drinker. Really, I am looking forward to trying out their other tours in the future! It’s also nice not having to worry about (possibly) drinking over the limit, or spending money getting a taxi… It definitely was worth the money considering (I thought it was a little overpriced initially).
Overall, this is an amazing addition to the Seattle market, and locals and non-​locals alike should check it out! And drink up! :)

This was an impeccable tour! We were picked up right on time and instantly given Raspberry Moscow Mule cocktails in jam jars and fancy popcorn. For the next 2 ½ hours we had delicious snacks, cocktails, and lots of tastes from the 3 distilleries we visited. We learned a lot and had a wonderful time. We even got a parting gift! I would recommend this tourists and locals :)

This was such a great tour! Small, local distilleries that I hadn’t been to before, little snacks/​gifties in between stops, good information from the distillery owners and friendly/​knowledgeable tour guides! Comfy, safe, and stylish ride. Numerous tastes, but enough snacks to coat the tummy ;) You can leave your stuff with the vehicle while you are on the tour, so as long as you can get to the meeting spot and home you are golden.
Great tour for tourists or locals! I felt it was worth the money we spent and don’t forget to tell them if you have a special event going on (small birthday surprise!)! Also, give them a good tip, they deserve it!

A fun and unique tour, it offers a look into some fantastic local owned and run spirit’s places! Allowing you to relax while they take you on a excursion thru the city to visit these fantastic little gem’s of Seattle! A must see when having out of town guests in!

Wow, a great tour! My wife and I toured with Local Craft Tours recently and discovered a real gem in terms of Seattle activities. Upon arriving at the starting point of the tour, you are greeted with a delicious craft cocktail. The guides/​owners were very professional, informed and a courteous. They provided goodies to eat and we were presented a really nice gift at the end of the tour.
The tour itself was very educational and fun. The distilleries we visited all had their own stories as to their origin, liquors produced, processing, etc. The liquors we tasted (all included in tour price) were incredibly good. There were a couple liquors that were simply outstanding; particularly the whiskey at Mischief Distillery and the vodka at the Glass Distillery. Plenty to drink, too.
Bottom line: It was a really enjoyable and fun tour which I would highly recommend — and at a very reasonable price for what they offer. Have a great tour!
