They were great until it came time to cancel. I emailed them on January 27 to cancel. We were putting our house on the market and I didn’t want their traps around for showing. This was plenty of time for them to pick them up.
I then emailed them again early Feb. Finally heard back over a month later, saying: sorry, we will pick them up and issue a refund. Now it’s almost April and yes, the traps are still here and I have not yet received a credit.
They are fine until you want to cancel, but good luck.
Too bad. They were fine at the start.

Earlier this year I had Erik come out to take a look at a noise my residents were hearing near the gutter of my house. I left him to do an assessment of the building and he was convinced that it was rats crawling up the gutter. He then started to explain to me how rats can conform to fit into even the smallest of gutters or even jump from trees that were growing near my building. Overall I said sure assuming he did an investigation and we went from there.
He offered to install gutter leaf guards on all my drains which should prevent rats from getting up into my gutters. This ran just over 400 dollars and then he suggested that I get a monthly routine visit as a service of which I turned down. He installed them and did a decent job of doing and I can’t complain about the install job.
A week or so after Erik installed the leaf guards my residents complained again about the exact same sound. I had a carpenter doing some work and he said he could just take a quick glance. Turns out he found a birds nest in the gutter. He simply moved the nest to a nearby bush and the sound never happened again.
So I’d like to summarize: My carpenter is a better exterminator than Erik in this situation. Basically I paid 400 for no success and my carpenter cleaned it up for free. I personally wish I never used his services as he assumes more than investigates.

There are two sides to my review
Side one: we had a minor rat issue, with a straightforward fix, and the problem appears to have been taken care of as advertised.
Side two: the promised work was not done as described and MORE importantly, Eric is not responding to my 2 emails or 2 phone calls over a 12 day period. I certainly understand being busy, and the need to call/​email back within a reasonable time, but 12 days is not acceptable, nor is the unfinished work. To boot, the phone number is a mobile phone.
Eric made the initial walk through with me, and after this he determined a small issue (maybe one — two rats) and the method with which the rat (s) had entered our crawlspace. Eric described his work to be performed and gave me the confidence he could do it correctly. After walking me through the proposal/​cost, I paid in full.
Work was scheduled, including the follow up date. And, definitely to the credit of Eric’s business, the dates were met and the rat issue appears solved.
One grievance I have about the work is that Eric himself did not do it, rather another guy. I was under the impression Eric was doing the work, and the fact he described his long history and skill was part of my reason to choose him.
The lingering issues: the proposal included a few items that were not done as described nor to my satisfaction and no one is calling me back. Very minor, but I continue to get invoice reminders on a bill paid in full. Possibly a software glitch, but should be addressed.

Erik is great, and I believe his work is good. His billing/​scheduling service, on the other hand, is terrible. I could say a lot more, but will leave it at that. I won’t be using his services again, due to this.

Erik is a competent, honest professional who is a delight to work with. His knowledge is extensive and his rates are reasonable. We had a family of rats living *inside our house* who were quite persistent and hard to get rid of. We were absolutely miserable and could not relax in our own home. Erik worked tirelessly with us to seal the house and capture the remaining rodents. This involved several unexpected trips to our property beyond what was anticipated and he did this without charging us extra.
Like other reviewers this was round 2 for us also. A previous problem a few years ago was only partially solved by previous contractors who did not eradicate all possible entries. I feel confident with Erik’s attention to detail, that this will not be a problem for us again.

We can’t say enough good things about Erik and the work he did on our house.
An overnight guest alerted us to the fact that we had unwanted scrabbling, beady-​eyed tenants frolicking in our attic crawlspace. Ugh! And it turned out the horrible things were even living in our car’s engine!
Erik came over, sussed out the exterior and interior of the house, pointed out places where rats could slip in that we’d never noticed before (even underneath areas of the house that jutted out and you’d never think to look under otherwise), and explained such details of the trade as why you needed things like carpenter’s wire instead of plain old mesh.
And within a day or two he was hard at work, up and down ladders and beneath the house, replacing insulation and making sure there wasn’t a hole the size of a quarter that those ratty interlopers could squeeze through.
All this hard work for a very, very competitive price and the invaluable asset of trustworthiness.
Our neighbors all had had rat-​work done by big companies and Erik could tell at a glance that they had – and why the work was ugly and shoddy – he didn’t say this to score points but rather to show what some quick-​and-​dirty solutions were like.
After Erik finished his work on the house, you could never tell by looking that it was rat-​proofed around the gutters – no big globs of whatever that foamy orange stuff is that others use – but the the distinct lack of rats and no more scuttling sounds in the ceiling told you that the job was done!
He has also called in his troops to now clean up the mess the rats left behind, and I trust that this job will go as smoothly as the rat eviction did.
Got rats? Call Erik!!! A really nice guy who does excellent honest work at a fair price!

Round 2 with the rodents. We’ve had clean out/​exclusion work done in the past that was not up to par & incomplete in some areas. The company we used would not come back out & repair things, the owner avoided us & then claimed «he thought» it was past his warranty on the work done. We would have paid them for their time; we just wanted the job done, but they wouldn’t come back out.
We picked Erik based on his solid reviews. He was thorough, reliable, honest, straight-​forward. Free inspection & expert opinion with no strings attached. He went above & beyond the quoted work & his fee structure is much more decent than those bigger companies. Why would one describe their rat guy as amazing? You’re left with the taste of a guy who takes pride in his work & his business & extends that good feeling to his customers. We look forward to working with him ongoing… will definately refer to neighbors & friends.

We recommend Eric highly. We were two days from leaving the country and discovered we had a rat problem. Eric responded instantly and addressed the problem efficiently and inexpensively. He took care of everything while we were gone, and even cleaned our gutters (!).
And truly, he is a steal. We paid a fraction of what our neighbors paid another company. He’s a casual, down-​to-​earth guy and we found him very easy to work with.

Here’s why we initially went with Erik:
He came to a vacant house we were planning to buy and gave a thorough – and free – inspection. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but considering some of the larger companies required a several hundred dollar upfront just to do the inspection and see if anything needed to be done, it was. We knew there were some really easy entry points in the attic and crawlspace before he even came out, but were surprised to find some of the others he showed us.
After we closed on the house, Erik was the first person we called. He spent half a day making sure our home was completely sealed off. Definitely worth the money.
I’ve called him with a question about the bait box, and asked him to come out once and go through our crawl space again (when we thought we smelled something dead). He always makes the time, and even though I expected to pay something for him to come back out, he considered it a courtesy call.
Thanks for going the extra step, Erik. We recommend you to all of the neighbors, too. Seattle is Rat City.

We bought the house and had a rat problem. Erik came over and plugged up all the holes where they got in and then he does a maintenance every 2 mos. for us with feeding stations. It has worked miracles. We can rest in peace now. There is none in the crawl space and we don’t have them outside now. He is very reasonable.
