My main specialties include small drywall repairs, and interior painting (up to 400 sq ft of interior painting). I am also proficient in most areas of home repair, restoration, and maintenance. Throughout my nine years as a handy woman, I have a general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fence gate and deck repair, blinds, faucet, and fixture installations, repair of existing items in the home, preventative maintenance, picture hanging, furniture assembly and repair, window screen repair, lock hardware repair and installation, base moulding and (some) crown moulding experience, room turns, etc. *Although I have experience with each of these areas, a tight schedule may not allow for large projects at this time*

My name is Kelley, and I’ve been in business under the name ‘She Fixed It’ since 2013. My previous positions within apartment maintenance relied mostly on a work order basis. This being the case, if orders didn’t come through… there wasn’t much to do! Instead, I’d like to put my name out there and tackle these jobs at a faster, more proactive pace. I know there are people out there that just don’t have the time, or expertise, to tackle the ever growing honey do lists in their homes. With that said, as a Handy Woman, I’m not a professional at any one specific task. Any job that is out of my area of expertise, I will try and guide you toward a professional that can help. I wish I could be a pro at everything, but for now I’m okay with being good at a variety of issues homeowners may face! :)

I live on the east coast and own a condo in Seattle. I had a specific repair which looked more difficult than what I would be able to do. I found Kelley on Unilocal and was reluctant to just rely on all of the positive reviews she had received. But I’m glad I did. She responded immediately, scheduled the job, did what would have been a fairly complicated job for me in less than the time she anticipated. The billing was clear, honest and accurate. The tenant on site said that Kelley was efficient and competent but not in a rush and valued doing good work. She returned to finish the job but the material had not cured so instead of doing a sloppy job she scheduled another date. All of these characteristics are in short supply in the world today.

So glad I found her! We had a long list of little projects around the house that needed to get done. She responded quickly by email and showed up on time ready to get everything done.
She fixed a drawer I thought was unsalvageable, took apart a bathroom fan to remove the motor, uninstalled and installed a variety of things, fixed a sticky door and put in new locks.
Polite and friendly and charged very reasonable rates.

Kelley was great! We had a whole list of things we need help with and Kelley counseled us on all of them. We prioritized a couple of plumbing issues including a leak of unknown origin under our kitchen sink. Kelley diagnosed the problem, proposed a couple of different possible solutions and then executed the repair plan by installing a new faucet and sealing everything up. She left us with a kitchen sink that was in much better shape than when the sink was originally installed. She totally Fixed It !!! We’ll definitely call her again.

I hired Kelly to do a job on my behalf and after accepting she notified us it was on the understanding that she couldn’t get to the repair for three weeks which we understood and accepted. Two days prior to the agreed upon date she cancels saying I don’t do repairs in this area. To me this just talks to the lack of thoroughness of how she does things. We specifically talked to her about the job and its location, now she decides she doesn’t want to go where the job is and cancels. She has left us high and dry searching for a new repair person. Kelly’s business practices are very poor and for this reason I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone.

She fixed it!
First time homeowners here. We had a wooden windowsill in our shower that was rotting really badly. Kelley made a new sill out of PVC board that looks great and will now be waterproof.
She’s also done some flawless painting for us!
Kelley is easy to have around and very responsive via e-​mail. Highly recommend!

Just an update. We’ve had Kelley out a couple of more times to work on projects for us, and she’s now our official handy-​person of choice. I will not hesitate to give Kelley as many star as I can. After my handyman retired, I have been searching for a good handy person like him for quite sometime, I am glad my search finally over and I found Kelley based on all the great reviews here. She spent less than 3 hours fixing all the small jobs in my house in a professional fashion. She was responsive to my email inquiry, 15 minutes earlier than our schedule, priced reasonably, great in communication, keen to details. Very happy with her great work and highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a good handy person. Kelley, thank you for your job well done and wish you can see my husband’s smile on his face when he turn on the heat in the bathroom last night :). Will call you later to install a new ceiling fan.

I wish I could give Kelley more than 5 stars, because she is that awesome. I recently moved to Seattle and was having a tough time dealing with unprofessional vendors. A friend recommended I contact Kelley because he had such a great experience working with her (she put up two flat screen TV’s and a book shelf for him).
I was so impressed with Kelley. Working with her took the drama out of getting stuff done. She provided a reasonable timeframe and price, showed up on time and put together my Ikea Malm full size bed with four sliding drawers in a little under 2 hours. This woman is good! I look forward to contacting Kelley for future projects, she has a true talent and is a joy to work with.

Kelley completed some work for my sister recently and we decided to call her for a few drywall projects in our home. Kelley was super responsive and due to a cancellation, we were able to have her come by a few days later.
She spent several hours at our place (with a lunch break). During that time, she checked out what we needed done, went to the hardware store to pick up the items and got to work. She patched up this huge (2−3ft) jagged hole we had in the downstairs ceiling from when our upstairs bath was leaking and a small plaster patch in a nearby room. Both look fantastic!
The larger project that day was our upstairs bath ceiling; it was doing this awful bowing thing and I had nightmares of our house crumbling down with mold. But when she pulled the ceiling down, it was dry-​dry-​dry, which was to my sweet relief. Our attic ceiling foam expanded and was just pushing everything down. She and my hub discussed what would be done here and it was a good plan (two layers of treated drywall). While she was starting the ceiling project, she noticed that our shower curtain was installed upside-​down and fixed that too.
She returned a week later to finish up the bathroom ceiling and sanded down another ceiling patch job we had done months ago that was rather choppy. It didn’t occur to us that sanding would have worked; we thought the whole thing had to be redone. Since this particular ceiling project involved plaster, Kelley let us know she wasn’t a plaster girl but thought that sanding would work pretty well and it did.
We are very pleased with Kelley. She’s friendly, energetic, and spirited. She knows her stuff and explains things clearly. I would definitely call her for ANY project and have recommended her to my friends too.
