So much better than waxing. I’ve always had a great experience getting sugared here. I’ve been to several other places and still end up driving almost 45 minutes just for this spot.

I have been to the Sweet Spot a number of times over the years and have always been happy with the results. The staff is lovely and they try to make the experience as pleasant as possible. They also have a lot of great, unique products to peruse while you are waiting.

On my quest to shed the tragic «frumpy mom» vibe, I found this amazing establishment! Not a Fremont frequenter, I was a bit nervous for my first sugaring experience, traveling into unknown territory for an unknown result. The Sweet Spot staff are incredible!!! The friendly, laid back atmosphere was so refreshing, I immediately fell in love upon walking in. My attitude did not change after volunatrily allowing these wonderful persons to remove hair from delicate parts of my body. The level of hair removal and skincare education I received during my first appointment has continued to evolve with each subsequent visit. There is a genuine passion and high level of skill at the The Sweet Spot that I have never experienced in any of my previous journeys in being less «frumpy». Aside from my absolute love of the sugaring hair removal technique, they have also made me fall in love with their Hydrafacial. Following my first full facial treatment yesterday, I had co-​workers remarking about how refreshed and how beautiful my skin looked. I cannot express how much I look forward to my future appointments at this establishment, the quality of the treatments they provide is unparalleled, and it is just downright fun spending time with the staff.

I generally don’t write reviews, but seeing as though there are not that many responses from a male perspective I thought I really should this time.
I decided to come here to get my butt crack sugared for the first time after calling a few other sugaring places that didn’t cater to men in that region.
The place was easy to find and having parking was great, although I did have to drive round the block a couple of times to find the lot. The store is very bight and exciting and the staff all seem to have a great attitude and were very friendly and welcoming.
As a first time client I had to fill out some paperwork and then there were ready straight away to take me back. After leaving me to undress she came back in and got right down to work, putting me at ease as well as in the right position to bare all. To say that she was staring face on at my butt she kept a very cheery chatter up as she got to work.
The process did hurt a little — what can you expect when you are having the hairs pulled out of your skin. I have been waxed before, although never in that area and I have to say that it was a lot more pleasant than the waxing. It didn’t take long and with it just being sugar all it took was a little wipe with a baby wipe to be all cleaned up.
No hard sell of aftercare products, nor was I forced to make my next appointment although it was offered. All in all it was a great experience, my boyfriend likes the look and I am sure I will be bake for more.

I had my first manzillian wax with Jessica two weeks ago. Jessica is 100% professional, & made feel very comfortable.
The building is easy to find in Freemont, & they have parking. Nice waiting area, where you can get coffee, water, tea, etc.
The rooms are very clean & what I would expect. Jessica describes each step before continuing, so there are no suprises.
As far as pain goes, it isn’t that bad.
Next appoint is in a few weeks. I love it. My wife loves it. Man up and do it.

So let me start by saying this review is a long time coming. It’s taken a long time to find the right words that say «holy $#@$ you just ripped the hair from my nuts and it was great».
So a few years back my wife and I were at a Mariners game. As anyone even slightly familiar with Major League Baseball can attest, the Mariners have not been a contender the last decade or so. But the tickets were free, it was the bottom of the 8^th inning and the Mariners had a surprisingly comfortable lead. And then it happened. My wife leans in and says «watch, they’ll blow this just like they always do». I replied with «sorry babe, not even the M’s could blow this lead this late in the game», wife replies «wanna bet»… Ha, famous last words. Despite knowing better I said «sure, what’s the bet» «if the M’s lose you are getting manscaped down there» as the pointed towards my nether regions. «And if I win?» I said. She replied with «anything you want». Ok you are on, no way the M’s could blow this game. Well guess what. They lost.
The next night we were at dinner where my wife announces to the couple we were with that I had lost the bet and of course what the bet was. After a few moments for everyone to regain their composure one of the others mentions that she didn’t think there was any salons that would wax a man down there. Whew, I was out of that sticky situation.
No such luck my wife called around and after trying salon after salon near us she found The Sweet Spot. Not exactly convenient for me being in Renton… but they will do men. Great I said while sheepishly imagining this horrifying torture I’d have to endure.
My wife made the appointment (actually his and hers appointments so we could go together). A week or so later the appointed time arrived. I wasn’t quite sure what proper protocol was for an event like this, all I knew is that I’d be laying there naked while someone smeared sticky stuff on me and ripped hair out by its roots that had managed to survive a lot of years right where it was. So I showered, scrubbed, loofa’d and scrubbed again figuring I’d at least make myself as squeeky clean as possible. I then selected a nice new pair of boxers from the drawer to which my wife said «uhm no, probably want something you do care about getting wax on or possibly bloody» What? Blood? Uhm am I missing something here in this process? Regardless I stuck with what I just put on. I figured if someone has to look at my sorry naked ass at least I can dress up for the occasion.
I get there and I’m greeted by a very sweet gal at the front desk. Introduced to the sugaring artist that will be providing my service and she leads me back to a room where I’m given a quick rundown on the process and instructed to strip from the waist down and get comfy on the table. Shortly after she returns and begins the process.
She laid down the first strip of «sugar» and gave a quick tug. Oh I thought, that wasn’t quite as terrible as I imagined and with that we were off. Unfortunately no one informed me of the «horseshoe of hell». Imagine an upside down horseshoe hanging from your ding a ling. Okay that area right under where the horseshoe would be… Yep… OUCH! And I mean OUCH! I’m not talking a quick sharp just jabbed in the arm with a needle. I’m talking horrific nightmare inspiring torture. Ok so really it wasn’t that bad but wowsers it was a jolt for a moment. Once done with that section though it wasn’t so bad after. Then she informs me to roll over on a hip and hold a butt cheek. «WHAT?» «REALLY?» okay so I guess a full male brazillian includes «back there»… Great now I’m really regretting the onion rings at lunch. I roll on my side, grab a handful of my own butt cheek and as she smears the sugar along my crack, all I can think to myself is «please dear God, don’t let me fart». Thankfully that stretch of skin goes really fast and it was over. Well a little plucking with tweezers and a mist of some skin treatment and it was over.
After that I walked out and waited for my wife to finish up. We settled up and headed out to the car. My wife was anxious to see the results so I gave her a quick peak. She smiled with a big grin. Despite being a regular at this herself she was quick to admire the handiwork and let’s just say it ultimately led to a home run for me if not the Mariners.
So what was to be a one time event has turned into a monthly grooming habit. After that initial first time it actually is rather easy and uneventful. The wife loves it like this and more than once has made me show it off. I’m amazed at the women who first, don’t believe I did it and then want to see it.
The gal I originally saw that first couple of visits has since moved on. For several years now it’s been Jessica. She is fantastic. Well as fantastic as one can be for such a potentially awkward experience.
Men, give it a go, your lady friends will love it.

The first sugaring studio in Seattle. I’ve been coming here for… 10 years? Has it been that long? Love all of the ladies here. I would NEVER go back to waxing! Lara, Deanna, and Janessa are all amazing.

This place is great. The atmosphere is bright and pleasant. The staff are friendly and professional. I don’t think there is a better place in town. If you are going to go smooth, do it here.
So, what about it? Should one go smooth. The answer is yes. You’ll feel more and your partner will give you more attention down there. It’s an easy decision really.
The tougher question is how much to take off? The answer is as much or as little as you like. I think both guys and girls know to at least trim the length of the bush regularly. That’s better than the wild and wooly but smooth is so much better. And not just for the ladies. Guys, a smooth shaft and sack (that’s the industry terminology) really do make sex better. One does not need to go all the way. Just take care of the parts in play.
Does it hurt. Only the first one or two times. Seriously. After that it is no worse than a little sting.
What about what your partner will say? They’ll love it. I’ve had nothing but compliments and repeat dates.
Give it a try. You’ll thank me.

Jessica is the best! She does the best out of any shop I’ve been to. She’s professional and super nice. Definitely give her a visit.
This shop also has awesome products and the girls at the front desk are super friendly too. Usually a waxing experience isn’t great because, ya know, you’re gonna be in super pain. But I love it here! Sugar waxing is the way to go.

I went here for the first time to get a full leg sugar in preparation for triathlon training season. Having never done this before I was nervous before I even called up to make an appointment. However, the staff on the phone did a great job of explaining what to expect and what they can do and really made me feel at ease.
I was a little nervous still when I walked in the front door, but the staff made me feel right at home. Offered me a cup of tea while I was waiting for my appointment. I never felt out of place being a guy going in to get a sugar treatment.
My sugarist did a fantastic job of explaining what she was doing and why. I was a little shy about the whole thing, but again they did a great job of making me feel at ease. Also, the pain is not nearly as bad as I expected going in. I’ve hurt more on a 50 mile bike ride than this did. So far so good on the hair removal, no strays — and it looks great.
This is a fantastic establishment with awesome staff that do a great job. Can’t recommend it enough!
Free parking in Fremont is a total bonus too! (It is a little funky to find the parking, it’s down behind the establishment off of a steep ramp below the building). However, they do a good job of explaining how to find it when you make your appointment.

I came here for the first time to get a brazilian. My sugarist was Janessa, who was super friendly and did an amazing job! She thoroughly explained what the process was going to be like, and told me when to take a deep breath while she sugared the most sensitive spots. She put me at ease and the process went by quick.
The Sweet Spot is definitely my favorite sugaring place so far. I will definitely be back!

I go here to take care of my adorable (I assure you), but unwanted lady mustache. Having never waxed I can’t compare the two, but I do like that sugaring is more sanitary. The Sweet Spot employees have always been professional, polite, and helpful. $ 12 for the ‘stashe seems worth it. :)

This was my first sugaring experience, and I am a complete convert! After waxing and dealing with some residual irritation and ingrowns from a bad wax a few months back, I wanted to try sugaring to see if it would help with the irritation. I don’t remember my sugarist’s name, but she was delightful! I asked a lot of questions, but she was really understanding and took the time to explain everything she was doing. She even went the extra mile and took some time to try to treat some of my ingrown hairs.
I guess the only con was that it took a bit longer than waxing, but I also know you shouldn’t rush good work.

Malia, my sugarist, was great! She was experienced and made me feel at ease the entire appointment. The staff here were all friendly. The store is clean and bright, with lots of goodies to peruse through while you wait for your appointment. I really enjoyed (well… as much as sugaring can be «enjoyed») my appointment at The Sweet Spot and highly recommend coming here for your sugaring needs!

I’ve always had a great experience at the Sweet Spot. I have only done bikini waxes there and any esthetician I’ve seen has always ensured that no stray hairs were left and that lines were straight and where I wanted them.
They have lollipops there and claim that if you have one of those in your mouth, the waxing doesn’t hurt as much. I’m not sure that its true, but hey, I won’t argue with free sugar.
In case you didn’t know, sugar waxing is so much easier on your skin! The redness goes away faster, you don’t end up bleeding from skin being ripped off (yes it happens, especially close to your period) and I get less ingrown hairs.

I tried out the sweet spot since it’s sooo much closer to my house than what used to be my normal sugaring place (turns out it’s also less expensive!).
Malia (sp?) was my sugarist and she was SO great and put me completely at ease. The store is cute and offers slightly expensive boutiquey items that are fun to look at while you wait. The office staff are pretty nice too. One lady who works there let me play with her really cute dogs while I waited and they both offered me beverages.
Here are some highlights:
1. Drink lots of water and don’t exfoliate before you come. Also EAT!
2. Although the rooms look like they just have curtains (weirded me out at first) it turns out they’re pocket doors and no one will whoosh past the curtain to interrupt like I was imagining.
3.$ 75 for a brazillian, $ 50 for half leg. Maintenance is less.
I like that Malia changed what viscosity of sugar she was using depending on the area and tried to make it as pain free as possible.
They have a few parking spots.
My only complaints are:
–The blinding lights on the ceiling (I know they’re there so people can see every hair they’re removing, but they hurt my eyes!!).
— They dont let you use a towel to cover up during service. So if you’re getting a half leg and brazillian you’re just hanging out all naked during the half leg. Uncomfortable.
— They charge for trimming. I’m already paying you $ 150, the 30 seconds it takes to trim cant be worth the second thought it puts in my mind (something along the lines of being nickle and dimed…).

The Sweet Spot has never been sweeter! I’m a regular here and this is truly a business that deserves 5+ stars. Businesses come and go and the integrity of the business can fail, but the Sweet Spot delivers sincerity and professionalism every single time.
If you haven’t tried sugaring, YOU MUST! I have very sensitive skin, but the sugaring doesn’t irritate my skin, doesn’t rip skin off (yes, I’ve had that experience with waxing) and ingrown hairs seem to be less-​likely. The Estheticians at Sweet Spot are all amazing perfectionists, genuinely friendly, and very professional. Not only do you get a great service, but they also give out tips or suggestions to make your sugaring experiences better and better in the future.
Other great things about this business is the free parking spaces underneath, the plethora of great products to take home, requesting appointments online, and even the comparable pricing. Whether you’re a first-​timer or a regular somewhere else, give Sweet Spot a try!!!

This was my first time sugaring although I have been waxing for years now.
Let me just say, what a wonderful experience I had! Jessica was so great and nice. A lot less painful than waxing, I couldn’t believe the difference.
But the best part is that it seemed to last a lot longer than a normal wax and that I LOVE!
I am now a sugaring convert. I will say I feel that it is a bit more expensive than waxing but I believe worth it if the outcome lasts longer.

The Sweet Spot is a fantastic place in Fremont for hair removal! Here is my list of why I love the Sweet Spot!
1. They have their own parking lot! Just park in the back behind the building and then when you get in sign your car in so they know its you!
2. They are open 7 days a week and late!
3. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable!
4. Try their sugar scrub, its wonderful!
5. They have candy! Its actually really nice to get to eat candy while getting sugared!
6. Music! They have quite a random selection of music playing. One minute its whale songs, and the next its indie rock.
7. Most importantly they are professional and the sugaring process is an effective, less painful method of hair removal!

My de-​virgining sugaring experience was here. Before this, I’ve heard of sugaring, but didn’t really even know what it meant.
Wow, what a great experience it was!
You go into a room, undress the area you need sugared. The aesthetician gets a ball of sugar (it’s a sugar, lemon and water mix cooked to a soft ball consistency) in her gloved hand, works it so that it’s pliable, and then start to flick hair off of you. The ball goes on against the hair growth and the flicking happens with the hair growth, which is the opposite of what happens when you get waxed, but because of this process, it’s a bit less painful and I think gives you fewer in grown hairs. However, because the area being worked on at any given point in time is smaller, it takes longer, so, for some people, can turn out to be more painful.
The aesthetician was friendly and we had a great conversation, which really helped with distracting you from the amount of time it takes.
Went here right before a big vacation to Cancun, and hair stayed away for the entire vacation and even some time after. IMO, definitely grew back slower and finer than waxing. Love!

I have a soft spot for the Sweet Spot – and it isn’t because they yanked hair out of my poor, overly sensitive skin.
I went in for a 90 minute make-​up lesson with Meghan last week. I brought in an enormous tote bag filled with all of my Sephora goodies and a detailed list of more than a dozen specific questions. A lesser makeup artist would have been overwhelmed, but Meghan’s a pro – she took it all in stride.
She went through everything from showing me ways to subtly improve my daily routine to letting me know which vitamins I should take to make my skin less dry. She showed me how to make my eyeshadow last longer (primer, shadow, finishing powder, more shadow; apply primer with a conceal brush) and helped me figure out why certain colors looked so much nicer on me.
And yes, I *know* that you can usually go to makeup counters at department stores and get free advice, but it was really nice to work with somebody who wasn’t trying to sell me anything, who could focus completely on me, give me great customized advice, and who was definitely an expert.
All in all, I had a great experience – and a week later, my skin looks downright radiant after using all of this new information. If you’re a makeup junkie like me, I would definitely recommend splurging on a lesson from The Sweet Spot.
