Data Recovery: Sometimes hard-​drives break and you can’t access your pictures, documents, etc. We can recover that data and set you up with a new hard-​drive!

Helpdesk: Wouldn’t it be helpful to have a technician available to help with your devices or computer? That’s why we are here! We can securely remote into your computer and fix the problem right before your eyes!

Server Support: Our technicians are highly experienced and work with a variety of servers and software. Whether you need a new server, migrate to a new one, or troubleshoot an existing one, we’ve seen it all and are ready to help.

Tech Support: We provide our clients with a variety of options for support. Onsite, remote, phone, monitoring, or even in-​shop. Accessibility to a technician is our goal!

Firewall/​Internet Security: We have developed our own firewall that is highly customizable for any network. We are internet security experts with an emphasis on blocking spam and protecting sensitive data.

History

Established in 1983.

Up Time Technology, Inc. was founded by Peter and Mary Ann Hansen in 1983. Originally, Up Time was opened as a scientific instrument repair shop in the Wallingford District of Seattle. However, Peter’s technical curiosity quickly led him to the exciting new world of computers that year. After building his first computer, Up Time was transformed into a computer sales and repair shop.

In 1989, Up Time moved into its present location only a few blocks away from its original site. Business expanded instantaneously into new departments of technology: printers, networks, custom computer production, and of course the increasingly popular Internet. By 1999, Up Time was a completely developed operation and Washington Corporation.

Today, Up Time is blessed with a large and loyal client base. It remains family owned and ready for the ever changing world of technology.

Zeke H.

Manager

Zeke has over 12 years of networking integration and IT development experience with Up Time Technology. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional and Cisco Certified Network Associate.

In addition to Zeke’s strong passion for computers, servers, operating systems and other geeky stuff, he loves cheering for the UW Huskies (his alma mater), cycling in the Seattle To Portland race, and golfing when the Seattle weather allows.

Zeke’s favorite aspect of Up Time Technology is the company’s commitment to their customers, and that he gets to spearhead that commitment while working alongside a very devoted staff (including his parents, brother, and sister).

I’ve been a customer for about 8 years & thought these guys were the best! I recommended them to everyone.
Sadly, not so anymore. The work is fine but forget customer service. Better dare not ask a question unless you’re a serious techie — otherwise expect to be treated with a rude and arrogant attitude. The owner used to be a nice guy but maybe he just needed the business then. Too bad.

My old XP machine finally crashed irredeemably, and I took it to Uptime to recover files from the hard drive. The good news was they were able to extract all of the files and put them on memory for me to access. The bad news was that there were tens of thousands of image files, mostly logos from web sites we’d visited over the years we owned the computer. There was just no way to sort the family photos from the little icons. That wasn’t their fault: the O.S. was toast, and they did a good job getting anything.

I am VERY impressed at the service I received from David and Scott. I use my computer to work from home, so I needed help FAST. My problem was diagnosed within a couple of hours after dropping off my Dell desktop. David even helped me deal with Dell in getting them to honor the warranty and expedite my repair. THEN David pulled the files I was working on and loaded them on a disk so I didn’t have to redo a week’s worth of work. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with the level of service at a very fair price. I won’t be going anywhere else for my computer needs.

I can’t even count how many times I’ve purchased equipment or had computer service done by these folks over the past 20 years or so. They are not the cheapest, but it is always fixed the first time. The hardware they sell is high quality at a competitive price. Their advice and support is always spot-​on. Even their managed services like e-​mail run seemlessly.
There are cheaper places out there, but if your time is valuable, I recommend them highly!

I brought in a pc that I had reinstalled Windows on. After the reinstall, I couldn’t connect to a wireless network and after several hours of trying to install the drivers from the dell web site I decided I needed the help of a professional.
Both when I called the store and when I dropped off the computer, the employees were extremely courteous. Scott called a day later and explained what the problem was and how he fixed it. I did not feel rushed. In the end, I had my computer back and working in 24 hours. They charged me for 30 minutes of work. I am extremely pleased.

After six years my iMac was intolerably sluggish, so I took it to UpTech to see if there was anything they could do to get it back up and running so I wouldn’t have to buy a new one. Scott installed a new hard drive, and now my iMac is like it was when I purchased in 2008. The savings was big-​well over $ 1,000.

I’ve been using Up Time for my personal and business computer needs for the last 20 years. They build custom machines exactly the way I want them, usually for the same price as Dell or HP. And they service what they sell — usually on the same day.
I recently had a problem with a new machine where it only happened when my treadmill was running. David, the technician from Up Time came to my office and thoroughly analyzed the problem. He’s got a lot of experience on all the things that can go wrong, and I was thoroughly impressed. And I’m an engineer by trade, and used to work on computers myself.
I trust these guys. Buy with confidence that you’re getting a good deal and expert help.

I’ve been using this place for years and I’ve never been disappointed.
They were able to retrieve my data after 2 separate crashes (I’ve learned my lesson now!).
They gave me a sound card they had laying around for free when mine wouldn’t work with an audio interface I had.
AND I just had them assemble my new computer. Rebekah and Jennifer were great at the front end with general questions and coordinating.

Up Time did a great job with a recent computer problem I had. The hard drive on my 16 month old Asus laptop abruptly failed, which for a digital hoarder like myself (music, photos, spreadsheets, DATA) was a terrifying reality to confront. I do backup my files, just not nearly often enough…
While trying to stay calm, I made a list of about 15 places in the Seattle area where I could take the machine for a hard drive recovery. After calling around, I decided to go to Up Time because it was close to my residence and the help on the phone was excellent.
After dropping the machine off, Scott had it back to me within 48 hours with a completely restored hard drive, data 100% intact! I am an OCD type when it comes to my precious computer, so I had a bunch of questions and a few subsequent minor issues to follow-​up on, but Scott was patient with me and communicated effectively every step of the way. I will be going to Up Time for my future computer needs!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for some time. I bought my laptop from Up Time Technology four years ago, and have been back to them two or three for help with some issues, which turned out to be minor. They give excellent, personal service, there on site, which is a huge plus. They have been very fair with their prices with me — even given some unexpected freebies and discounts. What a great company. We had our printer repaired. 5 days later a line appeared on the printed pages. I brought the printer in and 10 minutes later the technician had removed the envelope chad and coached me on what to look for next time. I thought they had botched the repair and they quickly and nicely pointed out it was self inflicted. Best of all, no charge for the second repair, and
delivered with smiles and genuine concern.

AWESOME!!! AWESOME IN EVERY WAY!!!
My computer crashed and would not so much as turn on! I shopped around and called 4 different places. Of the 4 places, Up Time Tech gave me the best explanation, told me to come right in and gave me a quote for repairs!
I brought my computer in and they were able to extract or salvage ALL of my data and operating system from my old hard drive! My computer was shot so I had to buy a new one. I dropped off the new computer and they also loaded ALL of my data from the old hard drive to the new computer and completely set up my new computer for me. When I got the new computer back to the store and set it up, I turned it on and EVERYTHING was there just as it was before!!!
After the fact I had a few questions and needed something else done and when I called my tech, Scott was able to remote right in and took care of my issue within 5 minutes flat!!! This place saved me!!! They were so nice and did not treat me like an idiot and did not talk to me like I was a moron when I had questions!
Not only were they able to salvage my hard drive but they set up my new computer for me, helped me out days later and they got the initial job done pretty quick!!! Everyone there was great and very friendly! Anytime I called they answered the phone right away and the Office Manager answering the phone and the front desk staff was also GREAT!!!
And the best part– Everything that they did for me cost me less than $ 150.00!!! They are worth a lot more than that!!!
I found UP Time Tech online and am so glad I did! A big THANK YOU to the staff and to my tech Scott for taking care of me and getting me up and running! I will now use this place for any computer issue I have and will recommend them as well!

I spilled orange juice on my Sony laptop. Spilling liquids on your keyboard is something that other people do, until it happens to you.
Scott Gallagher, the tech at Up Time Technology, sent me a link to an Amazon business, to purchase a new keyboard, (so that I could obtain the warranty.) I brought it in to Scott and he installed, while I waited. He took the extra time to match up my graphite colored plastic face, so the computer wouldn’t look patchwork. All this within one week!

I brought in a working computer and in 2 hours got a call that my power button didnt work, my power supply was likely bummed? possibly my mother board fried and operating system compromised or trashed. I brought in a working 1700.00 computer and its wrecked in 2 hours! And I should not interrupt until he was done and then he could answer my questions. No manager was available.
I went in VERY upset. I clearly asked to speak quietly in a private office to a manager. I was refused. He had to speak to the tech with me. HIS CHOICE. I was almost hysterical and chose to leave as I was told I could not get upset. they screwed up my computer and I wasn’t allowed to get upset. I wanted to SCREAM!
I stood on the street figuring out what to do and here comes the manager with my computer. He said it was all «on me» because I got upset! Oh, yes, they waived the diagnostic fee for breaking my computer.
I hate to write bad reviews and to be in this kind of situation. I went somewhere else. Only the power supply was burned out WHICH WAS WORKING WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN!!! The new place and I discussed removing this review. I can’t. I had to pay 250.00 to fix the damage. I dislike bad karma, but I am opposed to creating a very expensive heartbreaking time for a customer because of inability to listen or talk nicely.

I was disappointed by the service I received and the response when I e-​mailed about the issues.
I have had decent experiences here in the past but doubt I would return. Initially I justified paying more and traveling further because they were a
«mom and pop» shop rather than going to a big box location but it wasn’t worth it in the end. The cost vs. quality of service just did not match up, and the arrogance I experienced was a but much to take.
