They also do exterior painting, and since they did such an excellent job on our decks and our roof, we had no qualms getting them to do the job.
We chose the Sherwin Williams 25 year super paint, and Tim matched the color scheme we wanted. Since the painters were heavily booked, we got a date for 1.5 months out, which was perfect as it allowed us to make some repairs and changes to the outside of the house before getting it painted.
The painters had scheduled us for 3 days. Day 1 was pressure wash and caulk done by Sean who was pleasant, answered questions and told me what to expect for the rest of the job. Day 2 was tape, spray on a primer/​glue coat, and then after that was dry, to paint. After spraying on the first coat, they rolled it to get it to absorb. Then they did a second spray. I pointed out places where the new paint had gotten absorbed so well that it needed another coat, and Dave was willing to redo those areas and a couple others he found. Day 3 was finish the trim painting, and make sure that everything was to my liking. Bob walked around with me to make sure all was ok. I discovered 6 areas that were already peeling or where the new paint had just been painted over peeling old paint. We also discovered scratched off paint where the ladders had been, so he fixed those, and picked up any trash that was lying around. Unfortunately, Bob wasn’t able to fix the scrapped areas at the end of the day, but someone was to come out that Monday, the next business day.
When the time they had scheduled the fixing up wouldn’t work for me, they sent over Sean at a time convenient for me. That was very much appreciated. I took him around and showed him the spots and he nicely fixed them. Afterwards we looked around again, and it looked good. After they left, we found that they had painted over the door bell by the garage, gluing the button in place, tho we managed to cut it out. Why that happened is a puzzle.
I am not sure that their painting guys have the same expectations of what painting entails. In our experience, the worst part of painting is the prep, sanding and scraping, something that they didn’t do without my asking.
I must admit to being spoiled from the deck job, where we were called every evening to see how it was going, and the crew did such a fantastic job, that I really didn’t have to worry about checking for mistakes or things not done. For this job, we did get an email at the end asking if it was ok and a survey to fill out. Jack did call me a couple days later to answer any questions and discuss the job with me.
All in all, this painting job turned out fine. We like our color scheme, the crew was pleasant, and the price reasonable. However, it wasn’t their best work. So, while we are happy with the overall job, the lack of complete paint prep surprises us.

Robert Williams came out and not only provided a great price but he had samples and ideas on hand. Our El Dorado Hills house had a weird door onto a deck and Robert researched and got a door company to customize a new door without any cost.
Excellent workmanship installing my windows and building my new deck. The work crew was a group of well mannered and polite guys and their foreman, Brian Scott, kept me informed of any issues and the timeline. I will definitely recommend this company for decks and windows and doors.

I am very happy to have found Straight Line Construction. I had them replace two very old skylights in my Sacramento home. They made the process flawless. Robert was prompt at our initial meeting and was very thorough on timelines and cost. The day of the skylight replacement the two man crew were quick, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. I am very happy with the end product and the entire process of using Straight Line Construction.

Due to the recent weather storms we had in our area, many of my roof tiles were damaged. I contacted Straight Line roof/​construction and they sent out a representative to review the damage and give me an estimate for the job. Just a reminder, it’s difficult to find an honest company especially in the roofing industry. This is the third time I’ve used Straight Line construction. Each job was done properly and I had no problems with the repair.

First time homebuyer in Sacramento. Found that we had a leak in our roof. Called a few different roofing companies, some of whom never returned with an actual estimate.
Straightline was very on top of everything. They came out for an inspection within 2 day. They were very professional, as well as helpful to our needs since we were on a budget.
They were able to finish the job perfectly within two days. Our roof looks absolutely perfect. We are very satisfied with this company and their work. We will be calling them in the future to have our windows done.

My 90 yr. old mother’s Elliott built home has an area on the north side of the curved tile roof where the sunshine doesn’t reach and burn off the moisture. The house is 20 years old and it had built up a lot of moss and lichens on the tiles. A crew of two guys came out to the house to make repairs of missing/​broken tiles, clean the valleys of debris, re-​align the valleys and other areas, and get rid of the moss and lichens. They took pictures of the roof during the bidding process and they showed problem areas where Elliott homes hadn’t really done a good job. The bid was for $ 2,460 to fix all the problems and get rid of the moss, etc. Now, comes the pending part. Instead of using a power washer to clean the tiles in the affected area, which is readily reachable by power washers since it is on the front of the house over the garage doors and drive way, they stripped the moss off with wire brushes. This not only removed the moss and lichens from the surface, but also stripped the glaze from the tile surface. They then washed everything down with a garden hose and sprayed the tiles with a product called Moss Out. However, the tiles do not look clean, they missed several prominent tiles on the crown lines of a hip roof, and it appears that they broke additional tiles that were not broken before. My mother has called for an inspection and we are waiting to see how the company responds. I told her it needs a stop payment on the check until all the issues are resolved. Personally, I would have done it myself, but I have Parkinson’s disease and can’t be on ladders or roofs. I will hold judgement until a later date. But, for now, we are extremely unhappy with the workmanship of the two people the company sent out. UPDATE: 2÷2÷15 Company sent out project mgr. and crew spvr. to review the job. There was no hemming or hawing, they said it was a ‘poor’ job and that it would be redone by a different crew as I requested as soon as they can get it scheduled. So there’s that. We’ll see how the workmanship comes out this time. UPDATE: 2÷3÷15 Company’s crew showed up this morning to restart job on my mother’s roof. I will go over tomorrow as they were power washing everything down and there’s no sense in looking at a wet roof. Bumping them up a star for their quick response. UPDATE: 2÷4÷15 Inspected house today and the roof turned out great. However, I’m only giving 3 stars for the hassle which never should have happened in the first place.

When we moved into our new house last June everything was great. And then the big rains came in February and we discovered all kinds of issues. Major leak in a guest bathroom plus clogged gutters which caused major flooding outside. We called straight line and they came out the next day. They got up on the roof and determined the reason for the clogged gutters was years of debris built up. So they replaced the gutters on part of the house and installed gutter guard on the whole house. They determined that the bathroom leak was a freak thing behind another gutter from when the v house was built and promptly fixed the hole in the wall and stucco. Very reasonable prices and very professional service!

Straight Line’s reputation coupled with the reviews we saw on Unilocal helped us to select them to do our roof. Since my husband is an Engineer, he took the lead in getting estimates and coordinating the work.
I cannot remember the gentleman’s name that came by and gave us the estimate but he gave us one on the spot. He also made some suggestions about our gutter spout thingys and where they should be placed as their current positioning was causing some damage to our home.
My husband and stepson took our old roof off of the house and did the patching and repair work on the wood to prep the roof for Straight Line. This saved us some money.
They put the new gutters on first and worked on the roof over a few days. When everything was said and done I believe it took about a week for the completion of everything and then a manager came out to fully inspect the job. The only reason it took about a week to get done is because we needed the roof completed by a particular date and they had already committed to another customer well before we signed the contract. However we knew this going in and they surely did the best they could to help us with our deadline which we totally appreciate!
My husband is a perfectionist and being a Construction Engineer he is exceptionally finicky about work that anyone does. The only reason we hired Straight Line. is because my husband does not have the time to replace our roof. With that said my husband was extremely happy with the work they did on our home! My husband, literally, climbed on top of the roof and inspected everything!
Unfortunately while they were here they broke some cheaply placed bender board on our property; bender board that was installed by someone our neighbor knew. The fellas at Straight Line repaired this at no cost of course.
We will absolutely be obtaining estimates from them in the future as we have painting and other items around the house we would like to work on over the next several months.

We had a large 40×14 patio over our garage that was leaking. Straightline gave us a bid much lower than the other two cotractors we had contacted and did a great job too! We had an acrylic/​cement coating put on it to prevent it from leaking in the future and it looks great! The workers they sent to the house were respectful and have only nice things to say. They even helped us pick out a color that would match our house and made samples. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

There is no better roofing company in Northern California. They went above and beyond for me, and always do for everybody. My future home had to have a roof put on swiftly, or we wouldn’t have been able to close on time, they made it happen by working over the weekend for me and we were able to close on a home my wife and I could only dream about a few years ago.

I had Jack and the rest of the Straight Line crew re-​roof my mothers house recently so that she’d be ready for winter. They did a great job, were very professional and finished every thing on time. Couldn’t be happier with them. Job well done, thanks fellas!

We really love our 50-​year comp roofs, with custom color seamless gutters, and the works. They look great!
We did have a rolled roofing area on each of the TWO homes they roofed. Sadly, the material from the supplier turned out to be sub-​standard (NOT Straightline’s mistake, we found out!).
Once Jack learned of our warranty issues on the roof, he was very prompt to respond. And, resolving these issues was not a small job. The roof product that had been applied had leaked (essentially melted) and dropped onto a carpeted outdoor room in my home, damaging the carpet and some collectable area rugs, and furniture.
Jack tried very hard to get the manufacturer to stand behind their product, but they failed to do so. Even so, Jack sent a crew out and corrected the problem, at his own expense. The other issues have also been addressed, and I am very satisfied with the response I received.
Nobody is perfect. Nobody. I never expect a company to be perfect, but I do expect to have a reasonable resolution made in line with the amount of money I spent with the company. Straight Line Roofing has shown me they honor that level of accountability.

Follow-​On: Now several years beyond the time they first did our roofs, Jack STILL continues to show me/​us that his customer service and his responsiveness is top-​notch. I have already referred him on more than one occasion, and he has taken good care of those people, as well.
