Terrible service in this place. The employees are just worried to work the less possible, not offering assistance to open a fitting room for you and always closing the store 15 minutes before the schedule so they can leave on time.

Every single time I step foot in this Ann Taylor location, I regret it. I went today and walked out empty handed again. Not because I didn’t see anything cute, but because the sales staff here is so rude and disengaged. I hate to think or believe that this is racially or ethnically motivated rudeness but I’m beginning to wonder. So. I left there, went right to Woodfield where I was greeted with a smile, a hello, and an offer of assistance

Worst Ann Taylor I’ve been in to. Consider acknowledging your customers, offering help, and not leaving us without support in the dressing area. I will order online before I spend money here. You all are having fun talking with each other… not great for business when customers could use help. I’d give no stars if that were an option.

I take a look of the previous reviews and are surprised to found so many people complaining about the service. I went to the store in Old Orchard today and received excellent service! The associate was so helpful and nice! I walked into the store like an idiot not knowing my current size for blazers and pants, she helped me figure everything out through trying different sizes and series. I will comeback because of the good service and expert help here.

I worked at an Ann Taylor in NYC two years ago, so I really believe I have every right to be this judgmental about the experience my sister, mother, grandmother, and I just had at this particular store this past Sunday.
ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE from the floor associate. I mean, I was literally appalled within the first two minutes I was in the store, remembering my past training working at Ann Taylor, and it only got worse. There was a long-​hair blonde in a black dress working the floor and dressing room and her ONLY concern was making sure there were no go-​backs before the store close.
My sister’s arm literally full of clothes to try on — never was she asked if she wanted to start a fitting room.
My mother was pushing around my 89 year-​old grandmother in a wheelchair, and thus had a bit of trouble navigating the store. Not a single «do you guys need any assistant» «will you like me to take those pants to the fitting room for you.» After realizing we would get ZERO help, I offered to help my mom and sister with their things and just get the job done myself. My sister went to try her things on, but my mom was frustrated with the rudeness of this associate (who literally walked right by several times to rush her «go backs») and decided not to try anything on and leave the store.
I went to help my sister out, guessing she’d likely receive no help, and I was exactly right. No one asking if she needed a different size, or any help at all. In fact, when I came back to give my sister a different size of something, there was a woman coming out of another room who was struggling to get the zipper on the back of her dress up. I stared down the sales associate who was gathering more go-​back cloths and absolutely looked up and saw this customer… and then just left. My mouth literally hung open. And I helped this lady zip up her dress.
I left to the store my mom was at a little later, and when my sister came in with her bag of one purchase, I asked her if she ended up getting any help. Apparently the only words she heard out of the sales associate mouth before leaving was her shouting «10 minutes left ladies, then doors are closing» and a snappy «we’re closed!» to some people outside the door looking in a couple of minutes before the store closed.
No, the store was not busy. I just can’t. Horrid associates. Why two cashiers when it’s not busy and just leave the one rude one on the floor?

Disguisted with the customer service in this store. Went here to return a couple items that I ordered online that didn’t fit. The sales associate at the counter did not greet me nor did anyone else in the store. In fact the only words she said to me were to ask for my credit card and «you are all set» when she finished. I understand if you may not enjoy your job, but ugh what happened to service with a smile. Please and thank you can go a long way too. An old lady was checking out before me and asked for directions somewhere. The sales associate helped her, but was also quick to roll her eyes afterwards. Just not a pleasant store to want to shop in. I quickly bolted out of the store rather than shop around as I wanted to. I will stick to online shopping instead of dealing with the nastiness in this place!

I’ve been shopping at Ann Taylor for many years. I made a purchase 2 weeks ago and used my Ann Taylor credit card. I decided to return two of the items/​belts today. I asked the Sales Associate Hanna for help and this 1 star review is in her honor. I shop at Ann Taylor often and usually people there are quite professional. Hanna, however, is extremely rude, arrogant and she acts as for a second I wondered if she were a nightclub door person, standing behind a velvet rope and looking down on people in line. When I asked to speak with the manager, she basically brushed me off and acted as if I were wasting her time and the manager’s time. She was so arrogant, I wondered why she didn’t choose to work in a fancy boutique instead of Ann Taylor. Ann Taylor really needs to step it up on training on some of their staff. Respect and good old fashioned kindness is essential in customer service. And to all the readers, please know I am not a believer of «the customer is always right» because customers are NOT ALWAYS right. I worked in retail and learned that respect and kindness go a long way. Hanna has none to offer.
Nonetheless, I am done with this place. All thanks to Hanna. Good job!

The Associates at this store saved my tushy when I was in a pinch for a business suit! Very friendly and helpful, and even helped me with the finishing touches of accessories! I make a point to continue to return to this store b/​c I know I can count on great clothing pieces and excellent service!

I don’t usually review clothing stores. especially chains because I figure they’re all the same. HOWEVER, I love this Ann Taylor. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. I hardly know how to put an outfit together and they always have helpful suggestions. Yeah clearly they want to sell you the clothing, but their input is legitimately helpful to me. One time I came in and needed help picking out some kind of jewelry for my boyfriend’s mom and two women that worked there spent a solid amount of time offering suggestions and helping me decide and being patient with my indecisiveness. If only their online customer service was just as helpful.
