Robert Hodges was our contact and PM, he is great to work with, top notch communication and follow thru. Our Installers were outstanding craftsmen, professional, courteous, and clean.
Robert and his team installed hand scraped ¾ hard wood oak through out the house with new carpet and pads in the bedrooms. Our floor is beautiful, we have received many complements. I recommend Robert and Bay Area Floors and will use them again.

I had tile and carpet installed in my home. David helped with the selection and the installers were very professional and the end result is perfection. Will return.

We were very lucky. Home Depot had sent us over to Robert, Bay Area Floors. We needed carpet installed quick. Robert was able to make it happen in 5 days. Helped us pick out the right carpet for my family. Communication was great, Robert was always around to answer all my questions and concerns. Customer services was outstanding. Robert and his team did a wonderful job with my home, it’s be 3 weeks and we are loving it. Thank you Robert and Team!

Had vinyl laminate, a pergo look a like, but 100% water proof, installed. Installing the floor is pretty easy but attention to detail on transitions and molding is a different story. A+

Bay Area floors from Soquel installed all my hardwood floors and some vinyl. Even with few hiccups along the way, Micheal from the store handled everything with amazing grace and patience. I wish I could have bought some of his patience. Floors look great, everything was done in timely manner. I feel like a got a good deal and great service. Definitely recommend.

I have read the other reviews for this place. Most of them are about installing carpet or laminate flooring. Installing carpet and laminate flooring is not difficult. One can expect an adequate job from any number of companies. We wanted Marmoleum flooring installed in our kitchen. That is a product that is not easy to install. Not just anybody can do it. Our installer Dave did a great job. He’s an old school craftsman who has worked hard to perfect his trade over many years. We could not be happier with the result. Dave Montanari was great as well. Very patient with us during the selection process. Very personable as well. I was surprised to find out that Dave Montanari, was not the owner of the company. His whole demeanor through out the process impressed me as one who had a vital stake in the company’s success. For a while. I actually thought he owned the company. Great attention to detail all around from product selection, pricing and installation. This is about as good as it gets. Great experience. Would have no hesitation using them again and making a recommendation to family and friends.

My husband wanted us to use sheet vinyl in our kitchen remodel, but I was very nervous about it looking cheesy. I decided to stop in to Bay Area Floors based on a recommendation from a neighbor. It turned out I was at the wrong place. but David was so nice, knowledgeable, and professional that I scheduled an appointment for an estimate. He showed me lots of really nice samples that were beautiful and had the wood look that I was interested in. The price for both materials and labor was great so we scheduled the install. They were very accommodating when we had to move it out a few days, and on install day the installer Ruffino showed up on time and did an amazing job. Our new floor looks gorgeous. I can’t wait to get all the new cabinets in and enjoy my brand new kitchen. Thanks Bay Area Floors!

Our kitchen and family room floors was installed by Victor and Juan, it is AWESOME! From the start when we first went into Bay Area Floors and met Robert, my wife and I had a trouble free experienced. Robert treated us like we were his only customer. Victor and Juan are not installers, they are craftsmen. These two gentlemen take pride in their work. Victor and Juan are friendly, professional, they showed courtesy and respect for our home. At the end of their work day they cleaned up, you would think that they were never there. My wife and are so pleased with the floors, we would not hesitate to have Bay Area Floors do the rest of our house when the need arises.

Love this place. Angel and his partner were great and did what they said they would do and on time. The floors look great and everyone that sees them loves it. Anytime we had a question or information we just had to call and we got them answered. Everyone was helpful and worked with me on the installation that had to be in two parts. They were referred to us and was the best experience I have had with anything home related. If you are looking for a great floor and excellent service you will happy you choose Bay Area Floors in Soquel.

Today I had Daniel and David come by to assist with a problem with my bamboo flooring that was rising in the living room and hallway. The Bamboo Flooring was NOT installed by Bay Area Flooring but should have been. These guys were phenomenal and super nice! They are experts when it comes to any type of flooring. They are professional, kind, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them both for your flooring needs! Do Not Try to Do it Yourself Ever! Call these guys instead.

I settled on Bay Area Flooring due to all these great reviews, and it’s all true — from sales to installation to clean-​up and payment, they did an outstanding job. We couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product. Robert in sales was very helpful, accommodating, and knowledgable; he really helped us to make the right choice. Angel and Nicolas arrived on time, helped move a heavy sofa, did outstanding work, and were polite and helpful, and cleaned up beautifully after 3 days of work. They are real pros, they made some decisions along the way that worked out beautifully. They were respectful and kind to our neighbors as well. I highly recommend Bay Area Flooring.

Went to Home Depot for carpet, why when u can get better full service from Bay Area floors from sales to awesome installers

It’s been a couple of weeks, but I’m finally getting around to write this review.
I can’t recommend this business enough!
David the sales rep was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. He worked with me on scheduling the laminate floor installation, and was even able to arrange to start a day earlier than originally planned, which I really appreciated.
Angel and Nickolas showed up promptly, quickly got the scope of the work and dove right in. They were very professional, friendly and helpful throughout, and I couldn’t believe that they wrapped up the job in two days. That included helping me put all the furniture in place and thoroughly cleaning up from the work. The workmanship is awesome, and the price was better than I expected.

I made a mistake my first go round of getting my floors done. I went to Home Depot. Six months later they were still giving me the run around and my house was completely torn apart.
So when my daughter’s fish tank leaked and I had to replace the flooring in her room I didn’t know what to do. I wanted the same flooring that was installed in the rest of the house. But I would sooner do it myself (with complete lack of skill or training) than have anyone from Home Depot come anywhere near my house again.
I called around to a few places in town and got some quotes. They were all in the same ballpark but Daniel at Bay Area Floors really went above and beyond for me. He wanted to make sure that I had a much better experience than my previous go around. He even worked on the pricing to make it affordable for me.
Not only were they friendly and affordably priced, they were quick too! In no time they placed the order and called me to setup a time to install it in less than 2 weeks!
The floor looks amazing, same flooring as the rest of the house but looks a lot nicer on top or everything else.
Look, we all know the big box stores can offer you a cheap price. But trust me, you get what you pay for.

I had just purchased a home in Santa Cruz and was going to ‘just live with’ the carpet that was already installed, but I casually checked out the pricing for new flooring at the local Home Depot while I was buying my painting supplies and thought I could budget it in for the cheaper line of flooring, basically I was trying to like the material because of the price but it wasn’t quite what I wanted, but for the price I was doing my best to like it. Upon leaving HD I noticed this little shop directly across from the entrance and decided to at least stop by and see what they had.
Lucky for me I stumbled into this ‘little’ shop because they’ve been nothing but great for me. Not only do they have a much wider selection than HD, but they are able to price match or beat the pricing of comparable styles/​kind of flooring to any vendor. In fact I did go with them because they price matched another retailer that carried the exact flooring I wanted at a better price, they also gave me a much better price on both the underlayment as well as the 5.25″ baseboard my wife and I both wanted.
Daniel, my salesman worked with me in every step of the process from price matching/​beating, shipping, delivering, and follow up purchasing of underlayment, baseboards, and transition pieces. I appreciated that he was prompt in getting back to me the various estimates I inquired about, worked with me on the price and was great in getting everything I needed delivered to my door which simply cannot be matched by Home Depot or any of the big box stores. I felt like a valued individual customer rather than just a number. Same goes for his delivery crew, they placed over 94 boxes (50lbs each) exactly where I asked them to, saving my poor back!
I *HIGHLY* recommend to at least go inside and see if you find something you like at Bay Area Floors and rather than walk out based on the pricing, ask if they will work with you on it. I’m glad I went in, the floors are in my new place (I used my own installers but I’m sure they have great ones) and we’re beyond satisfied with the look and feel of our floors.

We had a large living room and hallway covered in wall to wall carpet by Bay Area Floors. They did a FANTASTIC job from start to finish. Quick, professional, accurate, and thorough from assessment to implementation to cleanup. This company is highly reliable and to be recommended without hesitance. Thank you!

I was looking for a flooring contractor who would install a floor for me 1) on my schedule 2) for a reasonable price 3) is not a «big box store» driving out the local small businesses. This small business was exactly what I was looking for; personalized service, and decent price. I paid just slightly higher price than was available, but my goodness, have you seen the Unilocal reviews here? The installers were absolutely seriously superb craftsmen, and nice people to work with as well. I felt like family. I was treated with complete respect from the owner, the bookkeeper, the store keeper guy, and both installers. I have the absolute perfect outcome. This is what honest people do when they are in business to serve their community members.

After nearly a two year search for the perfect flooring materials and installers we went with Bay Area Floors.
I have to admit that I am a bit OCD and Frank Vickner (owner) and his crew made sure that I was 100% satisfied with the floors.
We ran into some issues with my very complicated job (uneven surfaces/​rebuilding of stairs). They came back a few times to fix some things that until I was completely happy with their work, even to the point of special ordering extra products (wood colored calking).
I did end up with perfect bamboo floors in three rooms, installed by a dependable, reliable crew that always left the work area clean.
I highly recommend talking to Frank. He will come out and give you his expert advice.
Also, the pricing was very fair.

These guys are excellent! The whole experience of sales through installation was amazing. I ordered my floor on a Wednesday, the guys came out to prep the floor on Friday, and installed the new floor on Saturday & Monday. The installers did a quality job, ensuring everything was nicely finished. I chose a good quality laminate (Eternity Frontier Collection) and couldn’t be happier with the end result. I also had a quote from Warehouse Direct, but David Montanari at Bay Area Floors was better with follow-​ups. He acted like he actually wanted my business. I highly recommend these guys… I will definitely buy from them again!
Oh yeah… don’t be put-​off by their small store. They carry as much, if not more, than some of the bigger stores. And, they will special-​order if they don’t have something you want. Also, the installers are not contractors. They are employees of Bay Area Floors. The guy who installed my floor has been working there for a long time, and it shows… my floor is absolutely beautiful!

These guys were super friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. They had some environmentally friendly flooring options too which is just what I was looking for. I’ll be comparing them to Home Depot and some other local shops but so far they for sure beat Home Depot for service.
