Door and Window Plus

I’ve used this company twice, once for a larger job and another time for a much smaller job. Both times they were excellent in terms of product and customer service. They were very competitive on price, communicated well and got the items installed sooner than they promised.

I don’t know about dealing with others at Door and Window Plus, but Kelvin definitely gets my vote for windows. This review is way overdue as they installed this many months back, but I wanted to wait and see how the windows have held up and it’s been wonderful.
Reflecting on my experience, I think what I appreciate most of Kelvin and his team is with the bazillion options available to you (Low-​E2? Low-​E3??) he helps guide you to the most optimal value solutions for your house. We do not live in a castle but we wanted something with good insulation value for the money, and instead of spending extra money on Milgard Stylelines, we got Crystal Pacific Vistas that work just as well with exactly the same specifications! That saved us over $ 400. And yes, their installation was quick and professional. For that reason alone, they may not be the bottom of the barrel *cheapest* price, but certainly I feel excellent value. So if appreciate value over cheapness like me (ie: Chick-​Fil-​A vs 7 Eleven Hot Dog), look for Kelvin and give him a chance to share his knowledge in solving your window problems.

If you select this company, avoid Jeff at all cost. He will give you wrong advice and does not take any responsibility for his actions. He stated to us that his company does not make the door holes and that our contractor will need to do it, at the time of sale. After its complete, he does not take responsibility for it and says we selected it. Additionally, even when their representatives come to the house and tells us that Jeff will contact you, he never did, we had to contact him and all he did was blame the contractor. He takes no responsibility to resolve it, only blames. Hopefully his supervisor is able to resolve it, if not I will complain to state licensing and BBB. Horrible company!

We are in the middle of a full house renovation and we gave Kelvin a call to provide us a small order for a new sliding and fire door. Kelvin made sure to take care of us every step of the way and everything was delivered without a hitch.
He was even able to give us referrals to help with other aspects of our project.
I will be sure to call them again for other larger projects.

Heard about this shop from some friends, the management really has their stuff together. Prices are perfect, staff is courteous and they EVEN HAVE A DIAPER CHANGING STATION IN THE MENS ROOM! You can’t get better customer service anywhere else!

I just had 8 windows retrofitted and a security door put in by this company, and they were great. Communication was frequent and easy, they know their products very well, and the prices were competitive. The installers were quick and friendly. I will absolutely call them again when I need something else.

Very pleased with the service we received from this company. The sales rep was very professional and friendly. The installation crew was professional and quick. They arrived here at 9 am and finished at 1:15 pm for 8 windows. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We had a very positive experience with these guys. They came recommended from a friend at church and were on time and on budget. We love how the windows look and were extremely happy with the service we received. Great product price and people.

Purchased a wood front door from them as recommended by my contractor. Door & Window Plus claimed it would take a week or two to deliver, but it took almost 2 months. Upon receiving the door and after installing it, I realized that the door itself was warped with a gap larger than specified according to the Warranty.
Door & Window Plus did not provide any satisfactory recourse. Instead, they referred me to the manufacturer who was also not willing to repair or replace the door without an extra charge.
I just wanted a non-​defective door according to the agreed upon terms, but it seems that all parties (contractor, Door & Window Plus and the manufacturer) refuse to provide this without wanting to charge me above and beyond the original price.
Lesson learned, $ 1500 lost. Do not do business with anyone that has a policy of «no returns, exchanges or cancellations». I also learned that the credit card company will not resolve this type of dispute in the consumer’s favor.

Absolutely amazing workmanship and very professional staff. The workmen showed up on time and took great care to install a set of French doors to our satisfaction. Every space of work area was taped off and clean up occurred throughout the process. All of our questions were answered as the work progressed and we were able to observe how much care was taken to insure a good fit. I would highly recommend Doors & Windows Plus, Inc. to anyone who is considering door or window replacement

I called these guys for an on site quote for 13 vinyl window at a residence, but I guess business is booming cause the dude who took my info never bothered to call me back. When and if he ever does I will no longer be interested since he said he’ll call me back in 10 minutes which was fours ago.

I had a wonderful experience with the company. Kelvin was extremely helpful, the prices were fair, Eli (contractor) was courteous, professional, and timely. Most importantly, the windows are efficient and beautiful.
I would recommend using this company and will use them in the future.

Ask for Sean. He and his crew did a great job on over 20 windows and three doors. Highly recommend. I tried to get a quote from another company and they were 30 mins late to the appointment. i just finished business with Door and Window Plus, and the experience was fantastic. Tan came out and gave us a quote, and it was $ 4k less than the quote we received from American Vision Windows. The windows are the Milgard Tuscany line, and they are great.
The workers completed the job (14 windows and 2 sliding patio doors) in about 5 hours. They came back the following day to seal the outside because it was raining the day of the installation. They put drop-​cloths down and vacuumed up very well when they were done.
I would definitely recommend them for window installation and service!

Stay far away. Once they have your money, they will not help you with defective workmanship or product. They promise to call and fix but never do. They are a scam. Buy from someone else.

My husband and I are renovating a duplex in Highland Park. Before we closed escrow, we had Door and Window Plus come and provide us a bid. They were prompt and informative.
Once we closed escrow, we unforeseen repairs, which of course cut into our budget for remodeling plans. Door and Window Plus was understanding of our halving our original order.
We ordered aluminum casement windows, as our real estate agent suggested to avoid vinyl for resale value reasons. Delivery was a week earlier than the first estimate given. Kelvin, the general manager, recommended the Superior Brand aluminum casement windows, which I later found out are manufactured in Ontario, CA. It is nice to know that the money we’re spending is helping the relatively local economy.
The windows look great. Our architect and general contractor are both impressed. I will post a photo when the drywall and paint are up for the whole place.
We also purchased some pocket doors a week after the window delivery. I placed an order on Friday, and the doors were delivered the following Tuesday. Solid wood, at the suggestion of Kelvin. For a little more money, I have severely dampened bathroom and laundry noises. Worth every penny.

I was ready to be greeted with rudeness, but these guys couldn’t be more chill.
I actually went to this shop to buy baseboards for my condo since their prices were ridiculously low compared to other retailers, including online. 50 cents per linear foot?! That’s outrageous! So honestly I was willing to trade bad customer service in order to save more than double in cash.
Anyway, I went on a Wednesday afternoon so it was empty. Maybe that’s why they were so cool. I got in and out of there in minutes. I picked the style I wanted, it was in stock, they loaded me up, and I was good to go.
I’ll definitely come back here again simply because they’re so damn cheap (and I live in K-​town).

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating but I just couldn’t do it… because I really do think it’s a 3 star place. You may ask why 3 stars if I sound like I liked it, well… I will tell you.
The initial experience was great… They didn’t try to up-​sale me anything. The sales explained different brands and different kinds of windows. He was very knowledgeable about windows and code requirement, so that’s great. Additionally, he gave us really good price. So good that the Home Depot person couldn’t even match it. So I was walking like someone who just bought 4 windows from a 5 star shop. Right now, 5 stars!
Instead of the usual 4 week delivery like the sales promised, he called a few days after the order saying that it will take 6 weeks instead. 6 effing weeks! Since my construction was starting, I was peeved that I need to wait so long. The sales wasn’t too helpful and didn’t seem bothered. I did ask him to call Milgard to see if they can hurry it up, I’m not sure if he did or not but the delivery date didn’t change. I think that if I bought it from Home Depot, they may have more power in getting Milgard to do the right thing, that is to delivery my effing windows on time. The place has just gone down a star, 4 stars!
Around the promised delivery date, I started calling… just to see if by some miracle that the windows are delivered early… no luck. But what bothers me is that it seems like I always need to speak with my sales… «No, he’s not here» «Oh no, I don’t have your order and I don’t know your status» «He’s on the other line, and I don’t know if Milgard has made a delivery yet.» Seriously? Don’t you guys communicate with each other? There, it just went down another star… 3 stars.
The windows are finally here and they look good… but having to wait SO long unexpectedly, this is not enough to bring you up a star… sorry.

Terrible Customer Service (for small orders).
I purchased a couple of grand worth of windows from them back in 2008, and was pleased… the prices seemed reasonable, and the installation was pain free. In fact, since then, I have referred 2 people to D&W+.
Just last week however, I contacted D&W via an online form to get a quote for a small order (just 4 small bathroom windows). No one called me back.
After 2 days with no reply, I called and got voicemail — I left a mssg and again no call!
Now after I have been blown off twice, I’d normally quit and go to a competitor. But I had used them in the past and been pleased, so I decided to give it one more try. Finally, got in touch with someone, a woman called Wendy. She instructed me to send details of the windows including a picture via email, and she’d get me a quote.
I sent the info the very next day (Friday), but by late Monday the next week, had not yet heard from Wendy. I called her, and she mentioned that she hadn’t opened my email — she did while I was still on the phone, and she promised to get back to me.
I guess you can guess what’s going to happen next… no call from Wendy!
That’s it for me. I like good prices, but I also value good customer service. I shouldn’t have to hound them to get a quote. It’s not like I’m asking for free windows! No more business, and no more referrals.
The funny thing was, as I went to Unilocal to check out how many stars they had, I saw that another reviewer, Richard C, has had the exact same experience as me! So I guess this isn’t a one off.
So in summary, if you have a relatively small order, just go to a competitor. If it’s large (couple of grand), they may be better (hence the 3 stars).

Now almost a year after hiring Door and Window Plus for one job, I hired them for a second. My residence. With regard to the work they did on the rental house in March of 2010 the tenants haven’t had a single problem.
This time I had 16 windows and 1 patio door installed and it was very smooth and painless. The entire installation was done in a single day.
Kelvin Chin, the manager of Door and Window Plus, has been in touch after the job making sure everything was right.
So I really have nothing but good things to say about the company and I’m glad I found them.

This is a tale of two door and window stores. Actually three.
These windows were for a rental home in Orange County, CA.
I was referred to someone by the rental agent. This company gave me a quote at a decent price for nine retro fitted windows and two patio doors.
Problem was, when I checked their contractor’s license it had expired. As had their insurance.
The second quote I got was from a very reputable company in Orange County with their own manufacturing plant. Their quote came in about a third higher than the first. They also made sure the windows were going to be up to code. One had to be lowered several inches. No problem with license or insurance but it was going to take them a whole month to get the windows made.
Then I found Door & Window Plus. Not only did I get a great price (a little less than the first quote) for (up to code) windows & doors, but they could install the windows within days not weeks. And that’s just what happened.
Beautiful energy efficient (I had done my homework) windows and doors were installed in a single day.
The person I have to thank for this painless process is Bryan Vert. He personally measured the doors and windows first, then had the installers come out for a second measurement.
Measure twice, cut once.
