I highly recommend this company. Although under much stress from the recent ice/​snow episode in Portland, this company worked to keep scheduled calls as close to the arrival time predicted. John, our repair tech, was so gracious and considerate with my elderly client. His willingness to explain things and appease her concerns was exceptional. Not only did he do a professional repair, he over saw possible problems that could compromise good plumbing function in the future and fixed these issues to prevent future compromise. John’s diligence and skill got us going again. If you call any other company, you are missing out on the best plumbers in Portland.

It was the weekend, and two tubs and two toilets weren’t draining. Our home warranty company dispatched a plumber, but he wouldn’t be able to come out for *two days.* I called a bunch of plumbers for help, but none answered their voicemails. It was only Reliant who responded.
A plumber was dispatched. He was nice, and worked hard to get the job done, despite it being more complex than any of us anticipated.
The only hiccup was in billing, when the total cost exceeded what we originally discussed (note — it was NOT a binding agreement, it was a ballpark estimate). When I called later to discuss billed charges, I wound up speaking with the owner who explained the reason behind the costs.
I appreciated the hands-​on approach, rather than just letting my concern wither on the vine. Andrew: thanks for your help, and your honesty!
I would absolutely recommend Reliant’s services to people in the area… with the caveat that you should ask about costs up front if you are worried about budget. There is no deception here — only an attempt to please the customer, as far as I can tell.

I would avoid doing business with this company because they are not truthful and honest with how they construct their labor costs. I originally called these guys because they were close to my home and figured I’d go with someone who was local. When I told Christine (or Christie), the billing manager my issues and asked her for a general idea of how much it might costs she told me «105 for labor…» and then part costs. I figured pretty reasonable so I followed through with scheduling the appointment. I really wish they were upfront about what their «labor costs» entailed because no way would I have gone with this company. They charged me 35 minutes of «drive time» to get to my home when they NEVER disclosed to me that finishing up at the last job and driving over to my house was considered «labor». I’ve never heard of «labor» being charged that way, more like highway robbery and dishonesty.
Long story short the guy called me at 1 pm and showed up to my home at 135pm, he finished at about 237pm. Yes I was watching the clock that closely as I had to head back to work. I was curious how he was going to charge labor, mind you this was before I knew about the «drive time». He went to do his paperwork and showed back up at 245pm. His paperwork said «labor costs 1 – 3 pm», I asked him why I was being charged for labor from 1 – 3 when he showed up a little after 130 and just finished about an hour later. His response to me was that they charge for drive time and once they leave the last location that’s when the labor starts for the new location. Okay… so how do I know he didn’t stop off and grab food? Go to the store? Take a ten minute nap in his truck? I wasn’t going to argue with him being that I was the only one in the home at the time. I went ahead and paid him, but it did not sit well with me so I called the company right then and there after he left. I spoke to the gal who is in charge of billing, can’t recall if her name is Christine or Christie, but she told me that’s how they charge labor. I said okay, well can you explain to me why i am being charged labor till 3 pm when it’s only 250 pm and he is long gone? She agreed with me and said that he should not have done that. Hmmm… shady practices right there. She told me that when he brought the paperwork into the office she would deduct that time and make the appropriate adjustment. Well considering I still was not okay with the 35 minutes of «drive time» I was being charged for I had a family member call to speak to someone. He ended up speaking to her and she was adamant about their labor policies. He disclosed to her that I live 15 minutes away from where their business is located and she told him that’s not how they dispatch. He explained to her then they need to dispatch and plan accordingly with a closer proximity to homes because it is not the customers problem that they chose to schedule a plumber who was half hour out. She told him that they do their best to schedule work near each other. Two days later I get a phone call with a voice message that says that the 15 minutes extra I was charged for was taken off the bill as well as an additional 15 minutes for drive time. This company is dishonest and it shows with how they failed to explain their labor costs truthfully as well as how their plumber just rounded up what time he was at my home till. If they also stand fully by their «drive time» costs why did they deduct an additional 15 minutes? Is that because guilt kicked in cause it sure wasn’t about customer service or customer retention. These guys are just looking to cut corners while sucking up your money. Being that I am a first time home buyer they left a very sour taste in my mouth. I like to support local small businesses, but if I ever have plumbing issues again Reliant Plumbing will not be the company I call.

These guys are amazing! We had a leak in our kitchen sink on the weekend and called around to see if someone could come out to fix it. Andrew from Reliant called back quickly and offered to walk us through fixing the sink instead of us spending the money on something simple. He spent a ton a time on the phone with us, and in the end he had his employee Bo come out and fix it late that night. Both were wonderful to work with, and we can’t imagine ever wanting to use a different plumbing company. First class customer service all the way!

I would give 10 stars if the option was available. Called them after River City Environmental came and tried to fix the issue and was willing to leave me without toilets working in the house for four days. Called Reliant, Christine worked me into the schedule immediately, Josh came on a Sunday and I was not charged a weekend rate. It was not an easy job, but Josh has an amazing professional «can do attitude». This company stands above any business I have ever had contact with. Don’t make a mistake and call another company first. Just start with the best, I guarantee your satisfaction !

These guys are the best plumbers EVER. I had a water heater go, and although they didn’t have the unit I needed, they installed one that I picked up elsewhere. When that unit turned out to be defective they worked with the manufacturer and with the unit until it was perfect. This was not easy and was not just one visit. Throughout they were very reasonable with me… they could have taken advantage of the situation and would have been within their rights to do so. I will always call these Reliant when I need a plumber

John was great and handled our issue quickly. Unfortunately, I wasn’t told about the ‘truck fee’ for showing up on the job, although I did ask about pricing. John advised me that the person who took my call was newer and sometimes forgot to tell new customers about it, and he told me his boss would call me the next day to discuss a possible refund. I got the call, and they did not end up charging me the truck fee. Excellent service on both ends. I will definitely recommend this company!

More than Reliant!
We had a break in the line between the street and our house causing a MASSIVE water bill. I called Reliant on a recommendation from a friend of mine and Jerrod came over the next afternoon to assess and bid the job. At least one other company had said they’d have to tear out bushes, cut the concrete at the sidewalk (but I’d have to replace the concrete myself… they didn’t do that) but Jerrod said «Why don’t we see if we can NOT remove the bushes and cut the sidewalk — if we need to, we’ll talk to you first». I liked that approach. They bid the job (and beat the other quotes) scheduled the work, did it and when I got home from my biz trip, I wasn’t sure the job had been done as they didn’t disrupt hardly anything! It was only the new house shutoff valve that let me know they’d been there at all (and there was no water running into the street).
The next day some of Jerrod’s team came back and said they’d spilled some PVC sealant on our walkway and wanted to make sure it was cleaned up. They ended up coming back again to pressure wash the walk and let my wife know «Our job is to make sure you’re happy…» That was pretty awesome (and much more than we expected).
As much as I don’t want to call a plumber again soon, I’d absolutely call Jerrod and his team — they were as good as it gets. Thanks guys!

It’s always fun to discover drains won’t drain, toilets won’t flush and water rising from the basement drain! We are new to the area, no idea who to call, but got a recommendation from a local contractor to call Reliant. They provided an ETA for arrival, and the gentleman who showed up beat the ETA and went hard to work on the issue!
Naturally our plumbing issues turned out to be stubborn and difficult, but we were extremely impressed by the level of communication, diligence and commitment of Reliant staff. They kept us updated and worked until the problem was resolved!
I had the opportunity to speak with the billing department and one of the owners and sincerely believe that their goal is to provide excellent service at a fair price. Under the circumstances, what more can you ask for?

I called on a Sunday at about noon to fix a clogged bathtub drain. The receptionist was very nice, and a very polite technician called me back about 5 minutes later to confirm an appointment. He was at my house within 1 hour, and had the drain clear in less than 20 minutes; an overall turn-​around time of less than 2 hours! I would definitely call them to perform plumbing work on my house again in the future.

Ernie and Robert rock. The company is honest, fair and very reliable. They only charge what needs to be done. Highly recommended.

I have changed a flopper in my toilet water tank from Reliant Plumbing last 9^th of October. Plumber name Brent was at the premises on time and completed satisfactory job within 15 minutes. However his invoice was $ 168.25 which I felt somewhat high. But I paid with my check.
Right next day I call Reliant Plumbing office to check out the fairness of his $ 168.25 invoice. However I never received any call to date other than one man who call me that he will turn over to manager. I suggest to check the price prior to ask for a service. Most likely he will say he has to inspect. ???

My water heater was not working, the light had gone out. I called at least 10 other companies all were booked days out or too expensive.
Reliant was able to send someone the same day and within an hour of my call. The service men was kind and quick to fix the problem. In the end the issue was fixed in less than an hour, so he gave me a discount and only charged for ½ hour of labor! In other places they automatically charge 1 hour.

Had a main line clog between our house and septic tank. They kept trying things, it didn’t work, and then they’d try something else, and so on and so on. This went for several days. I assumed that they would cut me a deal because they kept having issues and having to send our more and more experienced people, but still over $ 1500 was the «deal» I got. Next time I’m going to use a different company and ask for the «A» team right away so I don’t pay to train their employees.

Our bathtub drain completely stopped draining on Saturday night. We tried everything we could to get it I stopped. Tuesday morning at 8:30 ish, I called Reliant to see if they could get to us that day, and sure enough, they gave me a 1 hour window in which they would be here.
At five minutes after, Tyler the tech called and said he was on the way. After looking at the tub and running some water, he brought in a small, surprisingly quiet and clean machine. In less than five minutes, the drain was running again!
He was incredibly friendly and thoughtful, from shoe covers to cleaning out the mess that was left in the tub by the clog.
I hope I never need them again, but if I ever have problems, you bet I’m going to call them again.

Matt from Reliant just came by to help us with out pilot light on our water heater that was blown out in the crazy windstorm Sunday night. He was extremely professional and friendly and only asked us to recommend their company to our friends and neighbors, which I will most definitely do! Thank you Reliant, we are so happy and impressed!

Water heater went out on a Saturday night, contacted a number of different companies for quotes and Reliant had the best price and product. Came out Monday morning and within 3 hours, the old one was gone and hot water was restored! We will definitely recommend Reliant to anyone who is in need of a new water heater. Thank you Reliant.

Drains only clog outside of business hours, and the really messy ones only happen on sunday afternoons. Our kitchen sink drain clogged, not right in close but far enough down the pipe that the water in the sink would slowly drain out through the dishwasher, and from there all over the kitchen floor.
I called Reliant, and though their answering service was a little weird (i was greeted with ‘hello’ instead of, y’know, the company name or anything useful like that), i was able to request an emergency appointment.
Miguel called shortly thereafter to make sure i understood that the weekend rate is about double the weekday rate, which i expected but it was nice to have it made explicit so i wouldn’t have a bad case of sticker shock. I okayed the rate, and he appeared on my doorstep shortly thereafter (he’s based just a little ways away from where i live, so i got the best possible response time).
Not only did he unclog our drain, he was friendly toward our preschooler who was very curious why a strange man was climbing around under the sink and making loud noises with a funny machine.
In the end, it wasn’t cheap, but it was totally worth it. He even cleaned up the little smudges and puddles that resulted from the work. And we had our sink back in time to make dinner.

This business took my request quickly, was able to set up an appt. the week I called. We had toilet that we thought had to be replaced. Miguel came, he was fast, professional and the rate was very reasonable… I will use them again!!!

On Friday after noon I adopted a kitten and by Saturday morning he had found a tiny hole in my kitchen and decided it would be great to hide in my 1970’s apartment cupboards with no access to him.
After 24 hours (and some dismantling of my kitchen) it was apparent that Charlie the Kitten was stuck behind the water heater lodged under the cupboards.
At 2AM on Saturday AM I called Reliant to see if anyone could come out to help move the water heater. Andrew took my call and came out within an hour. He was respectful of my situation and extremely helpful quickly moving the water heater along with coming up with solutions to get Charlie out.
While this isn’t a traditional use of a plumbing company it was reassuring to have someone there to make sure my heater was not damaged and knew what to do.
Awesome customer service and would recommend for any 24 hour plumbing needs!
