These are just a few of the adjectives to describe how I feel after driving up to my neighborhood Trader Joe’s only to find the windows taped up with butcher block paper. :(I should have known as the dayum parking lot was empty, which NEVER have I seen except on a holiday that they were closed.
I was planning on getting some Black Garlic for our Kale dinner tonight and maybe something of distilled spirits as well.
Farewell my local Trader Joe’s. I was so happy when you came to our neck of the woods and appreciated each and every staff person that worked there as they always wore a welcoming smile and readily available to look in the back area for whatever might be missing from the shelves.
I have an idea that this might be because of the Trader Joes that is now in Claremont not a full 6 minutes away or the Sprouts that soon will be open on Foothill Blvd. Nonetheless I am seriously disheartened :(

So sad this location closed :(Great staff, never too crowded, always well stocked. Less than 5 minutes from my apt. Darn high rent!

I loved this store, but drove by today and they were CLOSED — permanently, apparently. This is the 3^rd grocery store in Upland to close in the last few months. What’s going on? Does no one in Upland eat anymore?

I urge all upland trader joe shoppers to avoid the other trader joes in the area. This store is always busy. There is no reason for the corporate fakes masquerading as the little guys to close this store. There lease needed to be renewed. They refused the higher rent. Upland is also allowing a new Sprouts in the area. Traders decided to thumb their corporate giant noses at us. I spent mucho bucks here weekly for about 10 years. I repeat this store was always busy. I was a loyal shopper to this company. Loyalty goes both ways.

I love Trader Joe’s!
This is one of the biggest locations I have been in which is a really nice change to be able to walk through and not bump into people.
The products are just freaking fabulous!
Over time we have tried about any and everything they have and its all been more or less top notch!
Newest obsession, the smores ice cream sandwiches, yuuum!
Another highlight would be the samples, they really go all out, its been tacos with salsa and guac, pulled pork sammies with chips and last weekend stuffed peppers and microgreens. Plates, for free!!!
How can you not give them 5 stars?!!
Prices are more than fair, in fact the cheapest you will find at any healthier or organic chain.
Feel good shopping at good prices with super nice, always helpful staff!

thank god for trader joes. i highly recommend the artesian water the sell there. Its amazing and one of the best around. Also they have great mochi icecream. Can’t go wrong with free coffee and samples

Yes, it is true.
My beloved local TJ store is closing at the end of the month. I shop here at least once a week and came upon the news this morning. I have been a supporter of TJ’s for many, many years from the time I still lived at home with my ‘rents in another city. I love them so much I actually use TJ stores as a determining factor of where we would live when we relocated to the IE. Even when we contemplated relocating to another state, «where’s the nearest Trader Joe’s?» was always the question that came up.
I have been spoiled that they were in my hood. I loved the convenience factor but most of all will miss the great people who made shopping there pleasant. I am deeply saddened but hope the corporate store in Monrovia changes their mind.

For a company that prides itself in quality food and service, I thought I’d never see the day where I would get bad service at Trader Joes.
The people at the customer service desk were all rude and the store altogether just looks sad. Maybe it’s the lighting.
I’m never coming back to this location.

I have never, EVER been treated this poorly at a Trader Joe’s in my life, and my family and I have been shopping at Trader Joe’s for years. And apparently they’ve got an issue with military ID’s, so beware if you’re part of a military family.
I’m 22 years old and just moved here a couple weeks ago from Virginia, and have not yet gotten a California State ID. I went to this Trader Joe’s to get some groceries and a bottle of wine for dinner tonight, and entered the check out.
The cashier was pleasant at first, and asked for my ID upon scanning the wine, as per usual. I look fairly young for my age, so I have no problems getting IDed for alcohol. He looked at my Virginia ID, which is a learner’s permit (because I don’t have my license for reasons I’m not going to get into right now) and became incredibly perplexed and asked for another form of ID because they «don’t take permits.» This should not have mattered because Virginia learner’s permits are picture ID’s that contain an ID number, a photo (obviously,) birthday, eye and hair color, etc. Everything that a Driver’s License or State ID would contain. So, I fished out my military ID from my wallet which contains the same basic information as the Virginia ID that he was already holding, and it’s the only other form of ID that I have. This only confused him more, apparently, because he called the manager over to check it out.
The manager stared at both my ID’s with an annoyed scowl on his face. He looked up at me, then back at the ID’s and said «We don’t take permits. Where’s your California ID?» I informed him I just moved here and didn’t have one yet, but that my birthday was clearly stated on both ID’s, and that I was very obviously over 21, and would be 23 in February. He continued to be condescending, and stomped to the back of the store to check and see if my ID’s were faked and if they could use them as evidence that I was indeed over 21.
A couple minutes later he returned and condescendingly tossed my military ID back at me across the counter and very rudely rolled his eyes and said «we don’t take these.»
WE DON’T TAKE THESE?!
Are you F***king kidding me?
Military ID’s are a national thing, dude.
Wake up and smell the patriotic roses.
For an entire corporation as large as Trader Joe’s to not recognize military ID’s would just be ridiculous, and I really don’t appreciate being treated like some punk teenager who just fabricated both a military ID and a Virginia ID in my basement, just for one bottle of wine.
Furthermore, he scolded me about my Virginia ID, telling me that he’s only letting this happen because it has a picture on it, but in California they don’t accept permits.
I’m sorry, what?
What the hell does a learner’s permit have to do with whether or not I’m over 21?
Answer: NOTHING.
And what if I had just been visiting? Can I not purchase alcohol because I don’t have a California ID? Obviously not. Or at least not without getting scolded and treated like a punk kid or criminal.
I have always been treated pleasantly by Trader Joe’s staff members nationwide, even in New York City, where pleasantries aren’t necessarily part of the norm in retail. I’m surprised, and incredibly disappointed by this experience, and will NOT be returning to this Trader Joe’s location.
So, good luck to anyone who shops here. Hopefully you won’t be treated as badly as I was.

I gave them a 5 because of service and the products they have.
Products that I like to buy:
* Organic Oatmeal
* All fruits (hand picked or pre-​cut)
* Ready made salads and fresh vegetables
Service:
* Always greeted with a hello. I like being acknowledged and knowing that I can always ask for an assistance.
* Example, I like to eat my apples right away. They will wash an apple for me per my request.
*. People that gives samples are very friendly. Try out their coffee… It’s refreshing

It’s quite simple: Trader Joe’s is for anyone that appreciates great, quality products. I could effuse profusely on what makes Trader Joe’s superb, but I’ll simmer down and express my opinion as follows. I always find something new here. A food treasure, akin to discovering gold much like a 49er did during the California gold rush.

Some items I sought only to be surprised and the great price:
–flavored seaweed

When shopping at a Trader Joe’s, I suggest you do your homework. Check out the mailer magazine or their website for weekly deals and new products. A health conscious consumer can easily be a bargain hunter at TJ’s.

Love Trader Joe’s, the best staff and the best trail mix. If you wanna eat healthy go to trader Joe’s.

After coming in as a frequent flyer I’ve become a fan of the deals on the produce and meat. Pound of beef for $ 2.49, niiiice. And they have been coming through with the cookie butter too.

Try the Trader Joes sweet spicy pecans. I think I have died and gone to nut heaven. Fresh grapefruit juice hits the spot too!

This is my type of store.
Extra attentive and friendly employees. If you need anything they will walk you to what you are looking for. Got questions? They have answers.
I love their seasonal products. Especially their fall collection of pumpkin butter, pumpkin spice coffee, and cakes. I also love their fish, and meat here. Sure things can be a little pricy but I find the value tremendous for what I am getting. My favorite things to get here are the seasonings (African smoke), coconut oil, multigrain bread, rainbow chard, and goat cheeses. The selection of nuts and seeds are fantastic. Also the two buck wine is where its at!
They offer a variety of samples daily, which makes me want to purchase more stuff (good marketing scheme) Also they have a little play area for kids and mini shopping carts for the mini me kids to shop with you. It makes the shopping process a little more fun. :)

Apparently I’m a bit daft and it took me like 10 minute to find the HUGE display of «2-​Buck Chuck»
Would TJ’s hurry up and open an Austin location already?

Every time I encounter that wine display I buy as many as I can possibly justify because that price cannot last… it cannot. But it has!
Bodacious Greek yogurt. 99 cent greeting cards. Coffees enough to supply Bill Lumbergh. Genuinely friendly folks. A local vibe… the list goes ever on and on.

The lure to Trader Joe’s has always eluded me. Their food products have never really wowed me, but there are times when I need to come here for various products that I can’t get elsewhere. The real point to this review is to acknowledge that the customer service at all of the their store is top-​notch. Their employees are always very friendly which I find refreshing, especially compared to their counterparts at the major chains.

Another exciting shopping trip at Trader Joe’s. That includes a car almost slamming into the front of the store. No worries no one was hurt! I always enjoy this location. More than adequate parking, helpful employees, nice layout of the store with everything being easy to find just the way I like it.

I like this place so much, I log in hours of my life here! And very glad this location finally replaced their shopping carts. Now, I no longer have to walk sideways and coax my cart to follow me. Their products are very interesting, often exotic, and very inexpensive. I even buy my staples here like bread, milk, eggs & cheese, and they are a lot cheaper than the local supermarket. I always look forward to getting the Fearless Flyer and reading all the clever write ups about new products. Then I dog ear the pages I like and go on my hunting and gathering mission! The sample station is also great and convinces me to try products I wouldn’t otherwise think of. And flowers! They sure know how to grow/​pick them. Employees give outstanding service too! My only complaint — when am I finally going to win the raffle for brining in my own shopping bag!!!
