Clean Slate Pest Control

After my initial review, Rene was here weekly to set new traps, check traps, replace traps. It’s been weekly since September we finally have all the whole plugged, and today Charlie came and did oour clean and sanitize, up in our attic and underneath our house. We have not heard noise in weeks now, than goodness. I am finally happy and can now call our air guy to fix our ducks and get our air flowing properly. Clean Slate started off shaky but we got it sqared away and am happy to give a good review.

Similar to others reviews, once they cleared payment the services that were promised went unfulfilled. They seemed like a professional company, wouldn’t recommend or use again

Joey Conger of Clean Slate Pest Control Corps is the one to get the job done! We had raccoons under our house and they were noisy, loud and they sounded destructive. We tried every thing to get them out and to block them from entering and exiting under our house. We put screens up and the mother raccoon would ripped them down. At night we would hear loud scratching and ripping sounds outside and the next day we saw where the mother raccoon had ripped off what ever we put up to keep her out. We knew there were babies under the house because we heard them purring, crying and scratching in the day time. Finally we called Clean Slate Pest Control and they presented us with a plan to capture the mother raccoon or wait until she left in the early evening and then they could get the babies out through the walls in the closet because they were under the bathtub. Clean Slate secured all of the openings around and under the house so that after the mother raccoon left she could not re-​enter. As soon as the mother raccoon left and we knew she left because she ripped off one of the screens they left not as secure as the rest. So she ripped through the wire and raged out. We called Clean Slate and Joey came over and made sure every possible exit was secured, he worked until about 2am in the morning completely closing the areas with wooden panels, not screens because this raccoon was strong as Super Woman. The mother raccoon came back at about 5 am and was scratching on every possible entry way, she even got on the roof. After she could not enter she left. We called Clean Slate and let them know, Joey came back over this time in his hazmat suit, Joey opened up the walls near the bathtub and pulled out 3 baby raccoons. When joey inspected the area where the raccoons were to make sure they were all out he closed up the holes, sanitized the area and took the baby raccoons outside in a bucket for the mother raccoon to reunite with her babies. Joey Conger of Clean Slate Pest Control Corps has integrity, he was professional, courteous, and efficient. I hope we never are plagued by pests like this again, but if we are our first call will be Clean Slate Pest Control Corps they got the job done.

I called clean slate in October for what I thought was bats in my attic turns out there was a rat hotel up there.
Rene came over and quoted me 5,000 to trap all rodents, pull insulation, replace insulation, patch up any holes and have a guy come out for a moldy wall in my garage.
After my landlord paid clean slate they disappeared on me, I had to chase these guys down just to do trap checks weeks would go by without even one!
They gave me the usual excuses: rene got in a car accident (but I just saw a review where Rene did services at another customers home) or (Joey ran off to get married somewhere)
I finally had it and asked for a refund on services and got the run around.
They came in and replaced insulation but didn’t patch any entry points so I’m sure our hotel will be back.
I’m still waiting for the entry points to be patched as promised I have called over two weeks and they haven’t got back to me, in fact they are denying my calls.
Please if you don’t want to deal with a headache choose another company!
What a joke…
Rene contacted me apologizing about the horrible services I received and explaining to me it wasn’t him because he was «down»
He asked for another chance and he would personally take care of my house
Stupid me instead of just hiring someone else I gave him another chance he said he would be at my house the next business day
Did he show up? NOPE! No call or text nothing.
I texted him around 6:30pm and asked what happened no response until 9:00 saying he could be at my house in 30 mins or come the next day.
Really at 9:30pm I have a kid that goes to bed for school and husband that works we don’t need anybody shuffling around the attic at night.
He blamed me that I leave the garage door open that’s why I have rats
Actually I never open the garage door EVER.
So $ 5,000 later my house is still a rat hotel

My wife and I recently noticed some birds had built a nest in an attic vent on the side of our house. We have a pest control service through Terminix and called them out to look at the issue. They came out and said it was not covered, which was fine. However, they said they can take care of the issue, but it would cost $ 1100 since it requires a lot of work. I went on Home Advisor and entered my issue and they sent me info on two companies. Clean Slate was the first to get back to me and offered to come out that night if it was an emergency. Since it was not, I just scheduled a time for them to come out that was convenient for my wife and I. Rene was very accommodating. He actually drove from the LA area to Anaheim in the evening to inspect the issue. When he was running a little late, he did the courtesy of notifying us ahead of the scheduled appointment time so that we were aware. When he arrived, he looked at the issue with the birds and also inspected the rest of the perimeter of the house. He then quoted me a price not only to resolve the issue with the birds, but to secure any other openings we had, and there were a few, for a price that was less than half of what Terminix wanted to just get rid of the birds. We accepted and set an appointment for the next day to have the work done. Unfortunately, on the day of the appointment, Rene was called on an emergency call and could not make the appointment. However, instead of rescheduling my appointment, which would not have been good since I had taken a half day off work, he had a coworker come out and perform the services for us. Joey, came out as soon as he could, also driving from south central LA to Anaheim. When Joey arrived, I showed him the issue and he did a cursory inspection of the house’s perimeter and pointed out the openings that he saw that needed to be closed up. He told me what he was going to do and then performed those services excellently. Joey even had to climb into the attic and remove the bird remnants and sanitize the attic. He put new screens over all exposed vents and openings. When he was done, he walked me around the house and showed me his work and asked if I was satisfied. Obviously, I was more than satisfied with the service I received. I thanked him and Rene for helping us out without gouging us for these services. He let me know to call them if I had any issues or questions. Clean Slate was very responsive, informative and helpful to my wife and I. This was a great experience.

This company is awful! Initially I was very happy with the quick response I received from Rene Holguin. He texted immediately after I had gone on Home Advisor and came out early the next morning. I was literally crying because I had heard a noise and thought I may have had a rat in my home. Rene checked my kitchen, attic and outside my home. He said that there had been a rat in my home. He put down traps and said that I needed to rat proof my home. I gave him a check for $ 100 for coming out. He emailed me later that day that it would cost $ 1,650 to rat proof my 1000 sq ft home. I asked about $ 100 I had already given him. He then emailed the cost would be $ 1,550. He wanted to start the next morning. I said I still felt it cost too much money. He then dropped the price to $ 1,225. I said I needed to sleep on it before I made a decision. The next day I had someone else come out. All of the traps were still empty. I was told that there was no evidence of rats in my house at all. I didn’t contact Rene. He then sent me a text saying he would rat proof my home for an outragous price of $ 850. I still did not answer. I then received a message from him saying he would come out and check traps for free. I still did not answer. I then got a text with a picture of my check for $ 100. Rene had written he didn’t feel right accepting the check. He could mail back or I could cancel. I foolishly trusted him and wrote back please just mail back. I checked my account and the check had been cashed! I texted Rene. He texted back that it had accidentally been cashed. I responded that I would be writing a poor review and calling the BBB. Rene then threatened to call a lawyer on me. What is wrong with this guy?! I cannot believe that he took advantage of the fact that I was a single woman scared of a rat! He lied to me about the check. He was trying to have me pay four times the price for something that was even necessary to have done! I would never ever recommend this company!

I am a stage 4 breast cancer thriver who miraculously reversed the disease, but it put me into massive medical debt from cancer treatments that were not covered by insurance. I own a beautiful house that I love, and I’ve been hearing rats in the attic. I needed someone to come and take care of this in the most non-​toxic way possible, since my health is of utmost importance to me. No toxic chemicals or poisons. Rene is so benevolent, experienced, gracious, kind, and compassionate. He came and gave me an estimate for free. He took photos and video from the attic and showed me what a horrific mess the infestation of rats had left. Thankfully the rats had not yet chewed through any air ducts, which would have been much worse. So if you hear rats in your attic, call Clean Slate right away. Don’t let the problem get much worse. Rene sent a crew of 5 men to do the enormous attic clean-​up job, which involved pulling up all the insulation, cleaning all the feces with an industrial strength vacuum, sanitizing every inch of the attic, setting traps, and securing all the possible entry points so no more rats can come in. Joey, who I believe is the co-​owner of the company, has also been a dream. They’re so busy, and yet they make time to come and check the traps and set new traps every week to make sure that any rats that were hiding in the walls are also removed. They did a great job, and worked with my limited budget. They may be more expensive than other companies, but FYI when I called another company who quoted me a lower rate, it turns out that was because they had no intention of removing the old insulation. They said they didn’t have the equipment or expertise to do that — they were just going to set traps and clean the feces that they could see, and not deal with the feces-​infested insulation. They recommended I call a company who specializes in that. Clean Slate uses traps and Simply Green, which is non-​toxic. Rene and Joey use full face masks and protective jumpsuits so that they can stay healthy while they deal with the toxic mess the rats leave behind. Rene and Joey know that I’ve already been through so much in my life, and they were happy to take this health concern off of my plate. I’m thrilled that I hired them, and I recommend them to anyone who has any type of pest control issue. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, intelligent, passionate, committed and kind. And that’s the reason why they’re so busy! Whether it’s a big job or a small job, but I can rest assured knowing that Rene and Joey are in charge. I’m so grateful for them, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. I wish I could give them 10 stars, not just 5!

Rene and Clean Slate Pest Control is the best hands-​down! We tried so many companies with no results and costly to boot! Rene is a true professional and knows his stuff and we are so happy we found him! He has a great personality, friendly and delivers on his promises! We could not be happier and we recommend him and the company highly!

So Joey (claims to be the owner) called 4 weeks after I paid them in full (2 weeks after my Unilocal review) and apologized. Joey wanted to correct the situation. I told him I had already paid someone else to do the job and I didn’t want to do business with Clean Slate anymore.
Well, Joey shows up at my door at dinner time. I’ve got food on the stove and four hungry kids waiting to be served. Joey was very pushy about making things right but mostly he wanted me to remove my Unilocal review. He offered to return my check (I had already cancelled the check so it didn’t matter). He tried to explain away the situation but I didn’t find him believable. I just wanted him off my porch so that I could sit down and eat with my family.
Bottom line:
It wasn’t a scam, they never cashed my check and did offer to return it (4 weeks later and after my Unilocal review).
I do believe we were overcharged. The guy we hired to replace them was a ¹⁄₅ of the price.
Shoddy work, there were several visible rodent entries that weren’t sealed and several more that were found by the 2^nd guy we hired.

Charlie Lopez and son came out today to set more traps and seal up some holes under the house. He promised to come every Tuesday until the problem is solved. I just hope that Clean Slate will do a better job of keeping their word when scheduling appointments and in returning phone calls.

About a month or two ago I had a pest problem. We called on Friday night and right away the next day they came out. Rene came out and solved the problem for us. He was super friendly and gave us a great deal. I highly recommend them. Best service!!!

This is an updated review… As Rene promised, he came back a few days later to check his work. I LOVE this! He is a man of his word & made sure that everything was ok. The best part is that we have no more issues! Thank you Rene, I will be handing out your business cards as fast as I can!

I have a service contract with a professional pest control service that I’ve had for a little over nine years and I will be canceling it after meeting with Rene. He came to our home after our service company was not able to make it out due to an error on their part. Rene was very accommodating and came over right away (after hours) found the problem, fixed it and showed us how to correct the problem so it wouldn’t happen again. He located the cause of our problem within 30 minutes of inspecting our home he did what our service company has not been able to do for over nine years. He was extremely knowledgeable, thorough and he never tried to push any unnecessary services. He will definitely be our go to guy should we have any issues in the future with pest control. I highly recommend him.

There are not many times that I give 5 stars. I interviewed 3 pest control folks. Renee with Clean Slate was extremely pleasant to talk with and caring about our issue. He is knowledgable and licensed by Fish and Game. He showed up on time and was here for 2 full days. It was the heat of the day (over 95) and he was up in our attic cleaning out all the rat droppings and vacuuming them up. He also had to go under the house to staple up the insulation that those pesky little critters ate through. He was incredible. He showed us 13 entry points in our roof where rats may possibly be getting in. Then he showed us with pictures how he closed up all the holes. This guy was great. He will be back next week to check the traps and then 2 more times. Once he gets 3 clean «no rats» in traps, his job is done. I would highly recommend this guy. He is not new to the industry but fairly new to this current company. That is why he does not have many «ratings» but I tell you this guy is the real deal. While he was here, 2 other neighbors asked him to stop by for quotes. Coto has had problems in the past with rodents and it looks like this year is going to be a bad one. Val
