Wunanga Bush Trail

For any fitness freaks who enjoy being in the great outdoors and pushing yourself that extra bit to get to the not so easily accessible parks of a park, the Wunanga trail (translating to «peaceful» or «quiet») is for you.
Don’t expect «Heartbreak hill» from Sydney but be prepared for a trail that requires a moderate level of fitness. This is a 4.3km round trip (which offer a bail out option of 2.1km flagged with orange markers.) The estimated time for completion is 2 hours in the trails’ entirety or a 45-​minut-​er if you short cut on the orange trail. This is the most strenuous of the three trails in Whiteman park– it won’t exhaust you if you pace yourself but keep the time of day (and year) in mind and ensure you have enough water to make the distance. (I try to carry at least 2 Litres of water for every hour that I’m walking.)
This trail covers the most diverse selection of ecosystems taking you from the woodlands to the wetlands and back. Where the other trails have four of five points of interest, marked throughout the trail, this one has no less than 26 markings (colour coded in yellow or orange respectively.) I am yet to complete this walk however, I shall update this review as soon as I get an early start to take on the Wunanga and find a peaceful place myself!
