Loved it! Went there on a Saturday night, and it was relatively quiet. Like most restaurants in the business district, things get quieter at night, which is a huge plus if you’re with a big group of people. I didn’t even need a menu, I got the tuna burger. Brioche bun with toasted sesame seeds, seared albacore tuna, bacon, and everything else you could need. It seriously is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. I can’t believe it, but I was actually super stoked on the french fries, which probably makes me sound like a rookie foodie. The fries were basically an exact replica of mcdonalds fries, without being overly greasy. You’ve got to appreciate the little things. Our server was 10/10, I can’t remember her name but she was extremely attentive and friendly. Only cons to this place was that getting our bill was a little slow, and the atmosphere needs a little bit of a revamp. The tables and carpet seemed a bit dated, but other than that it was a nice room. I will 100% be back!

Nice place. Bar seats contour your back/ass pretty good. Very comfortable. Food was delicious. I don’t recall what I had. Some sandwich with chicken on a Portuguese bun and a decent salad. Drinks were good. I was happy with my visit.

We had a big group and this place is great for reservations. They have drink specials every night of the week, which makes for an even better Friday and Saturday! My husband and I love to share two different meals to try more menu items. Last night we decided on the herb crusted salmon and the chicken avocado salad. Both items were delicious and lite. The salmon melted in your mouth and the seasonal vegetables were on par! To top it off we had a lava raspberry cake for desert-no regrets at all after ordering this bad boy! The cake had a bit more fudge than necessary, but the raspberry syrup and fruit pieces made for a tasty treat. One was perfect to share. The service was the only thing that could have been better. With a group of 11 we had to ask to order, which was a bit surprising. It also took some time to get drinks and refills considering they weren’t too busy. However, we weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t bothersome. I would definitely return and try some of their other menu items. The lobster grilled cheese looks sinful!

I was so impressed with the JOEY at Bentall One! Being cold and wet(thanks, Vancouver), the hostess warmed us up by handing us free wine tastings as we entered. We were promptly seated in the back room — the atmosphere was elegant and professional. To get to that room, you actually walk past the kitchen and I knew the food was going to be good seeing the chefs delicately put the finishing details on each plate before being whisked away by the servers. I was only able to order one thing — the Bombay Butter Soy Chicken. Turns out there’s a separate menu for vegetarians(+1 star for that alone). It was warm and creamy, my rainy Vancouver blues washed away. It came with all the accoutrements; including a fantastic almond basmati rice. Pretty standard five star rating; awesome food, friendly service, great atmosphere.

It was a cold and cloudy day up on Grouse Mtn and we dreamed of cream of mushroom soup, comfort food and good wine. We are from out of town and it was rainy in Vancouver. We got off the bus and saw Joey, it said wine bar so we wondered in. Soup of the day was cream of mushroom — yum! Not too creamy, tasted great. We got garlic bread to help sop up the soup. I had a lobster grilled cheese and got an aioli with it for dipping my sammie and fries(fries were just ok, shoestring style). My friends got the tuna club sammie which was good as well and they got yam fries which were really good. They were flexible on substitutions, answered all our questions, let us taste wines before ordering and stayed on top of our needs. They have a great selection of wines. Enjoy!

I work in the same building, so I’ll be at Joey’sat least once a month, so not quite a regular. It’s a good option whether you’re looking for an after work drink with friends or a basic meal. I find that Joeys fits into the mold of Vancouver Basic(along with Cactus Club, Earl’s etc.), it’s a dependable restaurant where the food is always good(and if it isn’t, they’ll go out of their way to make it right) and you can expect decent drinks, and some reasonably priced wines. I was in earlier this week for dinner after a late day at the office, had a great time. I wasn’t wowed but I definitely couldn’t find a single thing to critisize about the experience. I find that this specific location excels at the wine, they have a great selection, especially if you’re adventurous or like to find specific regional specialties. If I could give the wine room a specific rating, it would easily be 5 stars.

Our group of three adults had dinner at Joey Bentall One on Burrard last week and the entire experience was delightful: a hip modern décor, a very diverse menu and expert service, courtesy of Jovi D. The Miso Ramen bowl was outstanding with alot of ramen noodles and chicken in a delicious, perfectly spiced pork broth. I really enjoyed it. My son had a filet mignon and said that it was excellent. My husband went outside his usual zone and tried the Korean cauliflower … very spicy and cooked perfectly. The service and atmosphere are first rate, so if you find yourself near Coal Harbour, don’t miss this excellent restaurant. This was the hands-down favorite meal of our Vancouver trip.

Joeys delivered what Vancouver does best — sub-par experience. Can honestly say I did not feel the staff was very genuine here. The restaurant was dead and there was no feeling behind the service I received. Pleasant but forced. Food did not live up to my expectations. I’ve been unimpressed in the past but since it’s been a number of years, with a new menu, I thought I would give it a go. Plus, I saw lots of great photos on Unilocal! Yam fries — other customer photos have shown a mound of grated parmesan atop the fries. I was disappointed with the light dusting I received. The fries were not salted so I relied on the cheese to bring some flavour sensation. I ran out of mayo & truffle oil and asked for a 2nd. Inconsistent product. The first blend was edible. The 2nd was not — too much truffle oil and it was incredibly dirty and rancid tasting. 50 cent charge. Not worth it. Sushi Cone — was interesting! I liked it, despite not being a sushi fan. I would order this again, if I cared to return to this restaurant. I wouldn’t say it is worth $ 4.75, though. It was missing a nice sauce inside. Table-set soy sauce is a good addition but doesn’t add value that the Cone lacked. Tuna Tataki — not good. I informed my server that the sauce was far too salty. No apology or offer to get me a new one. The excessive saltiness ruined what could have been a great dish. The julienne papaya and carrot was too long, as well. Not easy to eat so I gave up and it went to waste. Two tiny slices of mandarin orange is also pointless. Why bother? Problem — The server should have addressed the issue I had with the tuna tataki. No argument. Furthermore, the table behind me received the wrong steak and the manager was very attentive in fixing the problem and bent over backwards to rectify this. That was impressive. Why didn’t anyone do this for me? Sometimes I am an aggressive diner, sometimes I am not. I just wanted a good meal after a long work day /week. And I wanted to go home. I should have sent the tuna tataki back.

We arrived at lunch time without a reservation and had to wait a while for a table. They offered us complimentary rose while we waited but we were technically on the job so couldn’t partake. Within a few minutes, a table opened up outside. I enjoyed the sunshine, though my friends were getting too hot. We asked the waitress to swing the umbrella over to our table but she didn’t know how to do it herself. She went to get help but came back saying it was broken and she couldn’t move it. We also waited a long time to order and get drinks so I’d say the service was below average. This location serves dishes that they’re testing out for release on their regular menu. I had one of these ‘pilot’ dishes — the barbecued chicken sandwich. Sadly, it was just a roasted chicken sandwich with barbecue sauce. Didn’t pop. My friends were equally unimpressed with their food. The food just didn’t match up with the restaurant’s fancy ambiance. It left a lot to be desired.

It’s obvious that they’ve put a lot of effort into the décor of the place, which to be honest, is great. The food isn’t bad. Not the type you would remember for ages, but definitely not crappy either. I’ve been here a few times, and i’m always surprised at how it gets ‘uncrowded’ late in the evening. I always thought this was the kind of place that would pick up in the evening. Anyhoo.decent place. Worth a visit.

Came in tonight and sat in the dining room. Emily C was our server and she was amazing. We came in for desert and got the apple pie first which was delicious and decided to order the lava cake after. Emily came to our table about 10 minutes after and let us know that the first lava cake the kitchen made broke when it was getting plated so they were going to make a brand new one for us and take care of it. She was very apologetic and sincere. Service was amazing and the deserts were delicious! Joeys needs more servers like this.

In the same category as cactus club, earls, milestones, etc. I’m just not a fan of these restaurants. The only time I can somewhat enjoy joeys is when I’m not the one picking up the bill. After enduring horrible service from the 20 year old waitresses(who only pay attention to middle aged men, but seem to ignore the rest of the table) doesn’t make the experience any more pleasant. I had to wait 20−30mins after I finished my drink before I was able to track down a waitress and ask for another drink. The food is OK — nothing wrong with it, except that it’s very overpriced. I always leave this place dissatisfied, wish there was more authenticity to chain restaurants like this.

Today, I went to Joey Bentall One with my team at work. We are all big fans of Cactus Club Coal Habour, but today we turn over a new leaf… I had suggested we eat at Joey Bentall to switch it up. Also, I walk by it every day during«Happy Hour» and it’s always poppin’ with business professionals who work in the area. I ordered The 500 Salad(500 Calories:)) with Salmon. It was a unique array of ingredients form watermelon radish(which I never heard of before) to a mix of barley, quinoa, almonds, mint, parsley and veggies. I enjoyed the arugula, as it’s peppery taste definitely adds flavour to any salad. The dressing was a Dijon/mustard?(ordered on the side and the dressing was not listed on the menu), it was OK — perhaps a little to «creamy and rich» for this particular 500 Calorie Salad. I think a vinaigrette with a bit of kick or tang would be better suited. Also, my piece of salmon was really small — I do love my source of protein and generally do not expect generous portions of protein when dining out: however, this piece did not fully satisfy my protein fix. Definitely, this salad wins points for creativity and uniqueness, as it was still a pretty complementary and tasty combination. Service was OK, not super fast and not super slow. It was still busy even at 1pm for the tail end lunch rush. I do the hostess«geek chic» look with the thick frame glasses and business professional attire. As for the waitresses, pretty standard black unique cocktail dress — always looking very pretty none the less.

I’ve been to Joeys several times for drinks and they are always a rock solid choice. I’ve had dinner there only once and it’s almost as good as Cactus, if not better. I like their ambiance and décor. Their drink selection is stellar too.

Food: 3.5 Drinks: 4 Service: 3.5 Ambiance: 4 Food: Paella, chipotle steak, fish tacos The paella was flavourful with lots of meat including shrimp, chicken and chorizo. The steak was ok but the winner was the deep fried mashed potato egg rolls that came with it. The fish tacos were also ok, I found they were heavy handed in the pepper and overpowered the fish. Portion sizes are fair. Drinks: Cherry vodka coke with like slush was delicious and peach Bellini was only ok(slightly too sweet and thick).

Joeys is probably one of the better chain restaurants(compared to Earls and Cactus Club) but the reason I give this place a 5 rating is because of the service. Their resident bartender, Shaun, is hands down the best, most attentive bartender I have ever had. He is attentive, patient, and always gracious. He is the sole reason we frequent Joeys as often as we do! The food is creative and fresh. They have soy protein(fake chicken) and accommodate most dietary restrictions.

So my lovely wife got a $ 25 gift certificate for Joey’s Restaurant. The first step was figuring out where to go. Turns out that the restaurants are named slightly differently. Once we got that figured out we chose Joey Bentall One mainly because it was close to the bus route on the return run from Stanley Park and the Vancouver Aquarium. When we entered first thing we noticed was the atmosphere and the décor. This was definitely a cut of class above the normal places we go. Looking at the menu straight away we noticed that there was a great but not over-reaching selection on the menu. Next was that the pricing was a level higher than expected. For our selections we chose 2 different types of dishes with the intention of eating half and then switching. Our choices were the Chicken Souvlaki with a side of Yam Fries and Dip; and Red Coconut Currey with Pawn, Peanut and Rice. Of the two the Currey and Rice was definitely the best. The taste was wonderful — great mix of flavor and just a little spice. The Souvlaki was in a Pita wrap — good overall taste but the chicken could have been more tender and a little less tomato for my wife’s taste. The staff were perhaps a little bored with it being so quiet for early dinner hour on a Sunday — I got my soft drink quickly but my wife’s water took two requests before it arrived. Still my refill was fast, the server was friendly and when we were ready to go paying was quick and painless. Price-wise it was a little high for our taste — total came to $ 38 before tip — we did leave a nice tip rounding out the total cost at about $ 45 — good thing we had that gift certificate for $ 25! Still overall a fair experience — nice place and good food. That being said next time we decide to step out at a higher –end establishment we will try something better rated at either 4 or 5 Stars for that kind of money.

Joey Bentall is one of those chain restaurants that you can’t avoid raving about. Chain restaurants have a lot of pros and cons, but this one has far more of the former. My favourite things about Joey Bentall: Lovely staff who are always cheerful, attentive, and personable Diverse menu Unique menu items for this location(not served at other Joey’s) Upscale ambiance reasonable prices amazing Caesar(my go-to beverage at any restaurant) Have you tried their Gyoza? Phenomenal. an «adult» environment(I’ve seen people bring kids in and the staff are always accommodating, but they’re clearly not set up for children, which makes this place perfect if you want to have some mom and dad date time) Short wait times Consistency (additional compliments could continue for forever) I come here a few times a month with Mr. J when I finish work, which is the perfect time to go because lunch is over, the girls are relaxed, and we almost always get a booth. Cons? I can’t really think of any right now that would apply. All the women working there have better hair than I do? Can I knock an establishment for that? ;) In any event, I highly recommend this place if you’re downtown and want drinks, dinner, or both.

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here. Excellent selection with lots of Asian fusion, which I love. I ordered the ahi tuna tacos which came served in deep fried won ton wrappers instead of corn ones. The tuna was seared medium rare to rare which is just perfect. Hubs ordered the lobster grilled cheese with a side of salad. I didn’t try it. It looked good. It might be a chain but you get good a solid selection and good quality. I ordered a side of pasta for my 4yo daughter. It was tagliatelle pasta with tomato sauce. I had her leftovers — pasta seemed locally made and the sauce was sweet and not acidic as I like it.
