Picante Catering

Picante Catering was the best thing about our wedding. They were easy to work with, very professional and just amazing people. From the day I called to book our date to our actual wedding they made everything easy. We hired them for our outdoor rustic barn wedding in Dublin, CA for about 100 people. Our guest could not stop raving about the food! They could not believe how much food we had and that we had an open bar the whole time. Picante handled everything for us from the linens to the alcohol to the appetizers, taco grill and dinner to the place settings. Thank you for making our wedding stress free and fun!

We hired Picante Catering to cater our July 5^th wedding in Oakland. From the start, we felt like VIPs, leaving our tasting feeling stuffed to the gills with a lot of hard decisions to make about our event menu, as everything was beyond delicious.
At home, we choose to eat fresh and local when possible, with no pesticides or antibiotics. It was difficult finding a caterer within our budget that also paid attention to this important detail, and Picante delivered without the pretentiousness that usually accompanies this kind of mindful eating. Knowing that our wedding day menu would reflect our values was a crucial element, and my cousin from Texas even took a picture of the menu stating the tortillas were made with non-​GMO corn to show off to her friends because it’s such a novelty there, whereas here, it’s something we almost expect.
But the most outstanding part of working with Picante Catering is the gem that is Maricela. The person who ran our venue turned out to be somewhat absent-​minded, and I was concerned about what kind of things could potentially go wrong on our wedding day because I wouldn’t be able to fix them myself. Maricela stepped up and set my mind at ease, communicating directly with the venue to ensure that everything we had discussed about set up and logistics would be taken care of, even taking the time to meet with all of us so we could collectively get on the same page.
She also stepped up to take care of other logistics, like making sure each table had open bottles of champagne (which we provided, as champagne wasn’t included in the bar package) for toasts and that the cupcakes we had delivered would be set up on the dessert table. It was a Jewish wedding and after the ceremony, the bride and groom spend time alone before interacting with the guests. Since we would be going straight to family formal photos afterwards while everyone else was enjoying the cocktail hour and passed appetizers, we weren’t going to have time to eat and hadn’t eaten since breakfast that morning. Maricela personally saw to it that we had some food to eat at that time, which saved us from an inopportune blood sugar crash!
Guests are still raving about how delicious the food was at our wedding, and also about how amazing the bartenders were. When we hired Picante Catering, I was very excited about the mojitos in the bar package (made with fresh ingredients) and ALMOST didn’t get to try one myself… fortunately I was able to trade a friend for my glass of champagne… it was SO good!
I work in the wedding industry and honestly, weddings can be a pretty generic experience for us vendors, as we see the same thing week after week. It was important to me that our wedding be a unique and outstanding experience for our family and friends, and Picante Catering truly made it memorable in the best way possible. Fresh, quality ingredients that made the delicious food, a gracious staff, and Maricela at the helm helped to make our wedding the best day ever. Highly, highly recommend!

We hired Picante Catering for our August 28^th wedding at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden and we could not have been happier!!!
Erin and her team went above and beyond to make our event perfect. The staff was super friendly and professional and the food was out of sight!
We provided our own beverages and when it was discovered that the signature cocktail ingredients were missing (left at home by us) Erin rushed to the rescue and got all the ingredients in a flash. Our guests LOVED the bartenders. Really friendly and kept the party rolling. The prices where super reasonable and included all rentals (linens, etc) with no hidden fees. The bill was gone over with us several times in person so we understood everything clearly. They really worked hard to fit our budget and still managed to give us an event that made us feel like we were their most important clients.
