Edwin and Jihene did a great job. Painted my new apartment and were professional, courteous, focused and hard working. Also just really nice and clearly care about the quality of the work. Highly recommend.

I was in desperate need of a paint job in my apartment as the walls were very ugly, bright, busy, and in bad shape. I initially hired Green City for the color consultation service, and moved ahead with having them complete the paint job on my apartment. The color consultation was incredibly helpful, as I had previously found the number of color and paint options overwhelming. Jihene visited my apartment for the consultation and took every detail into consideration, including times of day/​direction the sun would shine through windows, colors of floors and furniture, time of day when I’m most frequently at home, etc. She used her expertise and experience to help me narrow the colors down and I eventually chose a color far from what I had previously had in mind. Without the consultation, I was completely lost.
Jihene and Edwin used environmentally-​friendly paint that had virtually no fumes at all, which is great for my living experience and also good to know that the workers were not breathing in chemical fumes all day. They began with repairing my walls and then proceeded to paint my apartment, which was a big challenge considering some of the physical obstacles as well as the condition of the walls and prior paint job/​colors. I am so pleased with the work that they did, I could not have imagined a better job. The apartment is like a completely new place now. Edwin and Jihene are incredibly detail-​oriented, and they left no stone unturned. They clearly take pride in their work and made 100% sure I was happy with everything. They noticed imperfections that I would not have even noticed, pointed them out, and fixed them. They also offered to come back if I notice any problems in the work after they finished.
I could have hired painters for a cheaper price (or for a more expensive price as well), but I cannot imagine that anyone would have taken the care, pride, and detail that Ed and Jihene demonstrated. One gets what one pays for, and the price certainly matched the value of the job. It is apparent that they really take pride in their work and demonstrate a tremendous sense of responsibility to the customer. I also appreciate the fact that I’m supporting a small, local business run by people who work very hard. I would recommend them to anyone and would certainly hire them again when I need any painting.

Super responsive painters. I needed a rush job done in my living room and bedroom and they were able to accommodate the very next day. They did an excellent job with the painting: very neat lines and the colors came out perfectly. I’ve had people come over commenting about how nice the walls were, which is not normally a focal point of any conversation!

I had a wall with nail holes and missing patches of paint because of some shelving that was removed. I put in a request through their website, and Edwin gave me a call the same day. He was able to visit my home the next day to give me a quote, and the job was done before the end of the week! Edwin is friendly, professional, and does a very considerate job all the way through. Plus, it’s a eco-​friendly business, which always earns bonus points with me.

Extremely nice people, show up on time, work long hours and steadily. Accepts only cash, not interested in putting things in writing. Not high-​end painters, therefore they don’t know to do certain things that a high-​end painter will do without being told. If you don’t know any better you won’t mind, but if you do — well, you know who you are, and you know what I mean. Expensive for the painting outcome, but less expensive than high-​end work. I wish I’d hired someone else and paid more; they were not the right painters for me.

Green City Painters worked within my tight time frame, were efficient and extremely professional. Our young children have asthma and we wanted to make sure that it was done with the most non toxic materials. This is the first time we have had a paint job done and not felt the effects of the fumes on our bodies. They are true to what they say which is a company that is Eco-​Friendly. They did an astounding job! Edwin was a true pleasure to work with, and my children appreciated how he brought them into the process of choosing a color for their new room.

Jihene and Edwin were amazing. They really looked out for me. Made sure I knew how much I was paying and for what. Jihene charges per color choice not for time. I chose three other colors during one almost three hour session. She took objects in my apartment out and inferred from them what colors would go well while also helping me make the decision. I changed my mind about the living room, wanting to go more yellow and she CAME BACK and let me choose a different one at no extra charge. Edwin and Jihene want you to have a beautiful home that you love.
I went away on vacation and came back and my apartment was painted. It was awesome!

From their reply to my first inquiry through the completion of my job, Green City Painters was prompt, reliable and professional. Edwin and Thomas just spent the past several days painting my kitchen and my living/​dining area and it looks amazing. The job included a variety of challenges (very detailed corinthian columns, covering up water stains) and they handled all of them wonderfully.
They were also very accommodating with our schedule and very upfront about the breakdown of the cost so that we could choose the elements that were most important to us to stay within our budget.

Edwin and Jihene are magical. I’d just moved in to a new place and the existing paint job was a nightmare. Chips and cracks and water damage and really bad, really dark colors. Now it looks flawless. All signs of the previous color nightmare (Edwin called it «suicide beige») and the nasty cracks and damage were gone. The new colors are gorgeous, thanks to Jihene’s eye. They are both also incredibly warm, sweet people. Don’t seek them out if you want the cheapest or the fastest option – choose them if you want to see folks with an almost maniacal attention to detail make your place look perfect.

Edwin & Jihene were amazing! They painted my apartment twice — first my living room and bedroom and then came back a year later to paint my kitchen. They were extremely professional and helpful. They helped picked my paint colors and picked it up at Benjamin Moore for me. They were quick and efficient and most importantly did not leave a mess! I would HIGHLY recommend them.

Eddie and Jiji were a dream come true.
I moved into an old apartment in Greenpoint which needed a lot of work. I looked on Unilocal and noticed Green City Painters to have the best ratings so decided to give it a go. Prior to moving in, many cabinets had been stripped, leaving multiple holes all over the wall. I was quoted a good price, and hoped to have the holes patched and room painted in a day.
When they began to scrape away the paint, they unfortunately found a huge amount of water damage/​mold within the walls near the windows. They did the best they could to cover this in an eco friendly manner, but ended up having to us an oil based paint to stop the moisture from coming through (I did not mind). Even though the work took an additional two days for the plaster/​primer to dry and be painted, Eddie and Jiji did not charge me any additional amount. They did an outstanding job, and transformed the room into an amazing living space.
Not only is their work exceptional, but these two are lovely, genuine people. It was a pleasure working with them and I will definitely call them again when I need a room painted.

Altogether incredible job. The two owners are friends of mine so this may be a bit bias but I was so impressed and happy with Eddy and Gigi as a team. They were thorough, congenial, considerate and super professional.
I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do so Gigi helped me out by offering a «color consultation» which went above and beyond taking into consideration furniture, art/​hangings, lighting feng shui. I’m not a good eye for the technical side of painting but I know that I’m so proud of my apartment because of the two walls they painted.
Everything was very clean and they didn’t leave any marks anywhere, after 3 coats!
These are two super chill people that I’ve always just hung out with and loved, but doing business with them was an equal if not greater pleasure seeing how it is when you deal with good, fair people that know what they’re doing and don’t feel the need to make you feel lesser because you don’t have the slightest clue ;)
Granted, this was my first paint job ever and it was probably on the more simple side as far as jobs could go, but I would have no hesitation in using Green City for a a larger or more complicated painting endeavor.

Edwin and Jiji painted portions of my apartment, and their work is precise and neat. They spent more time in the prep; cleaning the walls, covering all surfaces, and taping than in the actual painting. They do a terrific job of cleaning up after the work is done also. They are flexible, I had to reschedule twice, and the work is carefully done. I really appreciated their flexibility.
I was not that knowledgeable before, never having to hire a painter, so didn’t realize the quote I received didn’t include any of the doorways and the associated trim. I was quite surprised when I was told that to include the doors, it would be an additional $ 50 — $ 100 per door.
They are a high end painting company and do very high end work. If you want your apartment painted in a neat professional manner, they are the company to call.

My wife and I chose Green City Painters mainly because of the great reviews and their attention to detail. Edwin, Gigi and Miguel were well worth the price and were very accommodating. They all worked around our schedules and were able to get the job done in time for us to enjoy our holidays!
Miguel is the master of plaster. We had over twenty big holes in our ceiling and walls from the electrical work we had done recently. When he was done, you’d never be able to tell they were ever there. Gigi will protect your stuff like no one I’ve ever seen. All of our floors, furniture and other stuff never saw a speck of dust or paint — incredible! Edwin keeps everything running smoothly and was great at keeping in touch throughout the project — setting expectations and timelines.
On a personal note, we mistakenly overpaid $ 500 due to some miscalculation on my part. Edwin not only called that evening to let me know, but came by my workplace to drop off the extra cash in person.

We called Green City painters after a disastrous self attempt at painting, and they were worth every dollar!
Gigi is great with colors and very thorough about making sure that they all flow together and that they fit your personality. If you have any questions about what colors you want the color consultation is worth every dollar. For our bedroom we were pleasantly surprised when she asked for a favorite memory of us as a ‘couple’ to draw on for the color.
They were also flexible on their schedule which was great because we were looking to paint, like yesterday. On that note they were also very upfront about the time and cost to do things, like filling in cracks and buffing out bumpy bits. The quality of their painting was very good, and knowing that they use environmentally friendly paint was like icing on the cake! They even used what they could out of the left over supplies so that they didn’t go to waste, and even better we didn’t get charged for them buying things we had on hand.
We stopped by just to check in on the progress and I had a schmultzy moment where I almost cried because our condo actually looked like what we had been envisioning! Our home is now a calm respite from the city that also compliments our style, thank you Green City Painters!

Edwin and Jiji are two of the nicest people you could have working in your home, let alone two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. It takes me forever to decide anything and they are very patient. There were at least three false starts, all my fault. I first contacted Edwin in January so that I could get an estimate for painting my bedroom, bathroom and walk-​in closet. Edwin and Jiji came over a couple of days later on February 1^st — they gave me an estimate and consulted me about paint colours. And that was my problem… I thought that I would have a paint colour decision by end of the week, then end of the month, then mid-​March. I didn’t decide until April and even then it was a choice between three colours. Edwin came over in mid-​April and painted the three swatches for me and I made a decision over the weekend. Finally on April 20^th, the painting started.
They were like a painting SEAL team. I would leave for work in the morning and come back in the evening. The only evidence of their being in my apartment was the new paint on the wall and the plastic sheeting on my floor. The paint job was fabulous and I’m really pleased with the finished result. They patched up all the little holes and my bathroom wall in particular looks brand new — I don’t even want to install the new towel rack!
I also like that they use eco-​friendly paint and that they gave me receipts for all the supplies. I like knowing what’s labor and what’s supplies. As a side note, I had another painter come over to give me an estimate and Edwin’s estimate was very competitive. Edwin also recommended a great electrician. All of my outlets and lightswitches were an almond colour and I wanted them white to go with the new paint. His electrician friend came right over and replaced everything.
I can’t recommend Green City Painters and Edwin and Jiji highly enough! Lovely people who do fantastic work!

I called for an estimate and Edwin came over and went over every corner of my apartment thoughtfully. He spent the time to talk to me about what I wanted and what sort of paint we should be using, and really seemed to care about the project as much as I did. He even offered to squeeze me in right before he went off on his honeymoon!

Awesome. They went over nook and cranny in my apartment and explained to me what my options were. Gave me different prices depending on what exactly I wanted painted and were very helpful in choosing what I should and should not paint. They even fixed up the amateur paint job I did to my bedroom. They patched up all the oddities on the walls and holes left over by nails. Cleaned up everything after they were done. Would definitely recommend.
Also uses eco-​friendly paint which is much safer.

Green City Painters came right over when we called for an estimate. Gave us a very fair price for painting our large one-​bedroom apartment.
The walls were in rough shape, they needed a lot of cracks filled, old water damage repaired and Green City Painters went the extra mile before they even started painting, making our walls smooth and perfect. The paint job was top notch, we’ve worked with other paint contractors before who couldn’t cut in a straight line if their lives depended on it. Not only did Green City Painters crew cut in masterful straight lines between the moulding and the walls, they far exceeded our expectations by leaving the apartment spotless when the job was done. Overall, a rare and excellent service I would highly recommend.
