21st Century Doors & Windows

Firstly the installation was weeks late. Then:
1.Debbie got the order wrong. The color of the doors were wrong.
2. During installation, they caused a water leak.
3. The water leak caused damage to the floor requiring replacement tiles which could no longer be obtained.
4. Although they said they would pay the $ 1545 plumbing bill, they didn’t.
5. Had to stain the trim and furniture to match the wrong colored doors. They said they would pay for that. They didn’t.
6. Have to replace a large area of tile. They said they’d pay for it. They didn’t.
7. Hope the court will say otherwise.

This place is AMAZING! I had been looking at front doors at Home Depot and Lowes, but didn’t really want to buy from them. So I got a quote from one company in the area that has a mobile showroom truck they drive out to you. It took about 2 weeks to get them out here… then they quoted us $ 12,000 for the set up we wanted! At this point I was convinced I would have to use Home Depot if custom door companies were charging that much. I knew about 21^st Century, but almost didn’t even bother going there after the other company gave us that 12k quote. Luckily, I decided to go anyway. I dealt with Mike and he was AWESOME! I explained what we were looking for, then he took me into the warehouse in back. They just happened to have EXACTLY what we were looking for back there ready to be installed at someone’s house. I told Mike that’s exactly what we want. Don’t change anything. It was perfect, and $ 7,000 LESS than the other company quoted us! Took a while to have them made, but was worth it. The installers were amazingly professional and very nice guys. Perfectionists. They took such care you would think they were installing it at their own house. I found a minor factory defect. I told Mike and he had someone there next day to correct it. I will definitely do business with them in the future and highly highly highly recommend them.

I had been talking to the people at 21^st Century since many of them were at Renaissance before its closure. We were completing a kitchen reno and wanted to do a really nice window treatment for the kitchen and living room on the front of the house. We met w/​Debbie in Oct., ’15. She showed us some custom windows that fit the bill & would allow us to use art glass integral to the window, not tacked onto the inside. The windows are mahogany, stained on the inside to match the cabinetry & crown moulding, and painted on the outside to better stand the sun and weather. Debbie referred us to Mary Ann Celinder of Celinder Glass Design (she has review posted here, too). Mary Ann & my wife designed the art glass. The windows are beautifully made, the installation was totally professional and the results met our expectations, and then some.

Highly recommended! First of all the sales consultants are excellent. They took the time to walk me through the types of windows available based on my home and what i needed. I wanted a more open look and feel to the backyard while upgrading the insulation (i can’t stand the summer heat). The selection available based on my budget was very nice. By the time we were done with walking through the in home estimate and design ideas i felt that these guys are true professionals. I am so happy with the look and feel of my new vinyl windows!

As a custom leaded glass artist, I’ve developed relationship with the staff at 21^st Century over the past 20+ years. (The employees of another company opened 21^st when that company went out of business.)
I could not ask to work with better people. From the salespeople, installers, craftsmen and engineers to the owner, everyone knows what they are doing. Running into their people at a job site elicits a hug instead of a handshake. Mike, Andy and Debbie are like family.
21^st Century offers quality products and service. They are great problem solvers when a unique situation comes up. Experience counts. I highly recommend this company.

I finally got my Dutch Door and I love it! The quality is amazing and the installer Dave and his helper did a perfect job! There is a minor factory scratch on one glass panel and they offered to replace it no problem. It’s nearly perfect. I can not express enough how happy I am with the door and the company. It’s obvious the installer Dave has installed many many Dutch Doors before. He was a perfectionist and new exactly what to do. I have an old house and I can guarantee it was a challenge. I believe it would have been a disaster with any other company. I have to thank Andy our initial sales man. Andy suggested the Pewter Square Hardware style. He was right, it’s so classy! Now our beach house is complete! Also I thank the owner, he helped keep our door scheduled as soon as it was possible.

We purchased a new solid oak front door from Debbie, our salesperson at 21^st Century. She helped with our selection and was very good with suggesting the little stuff (trim, locks, etc.). Then about 6 weeks later I got a call, and the installation was set up. The installers arrived and told me it would take most of the day to complete the work, so I went to work. When I returned, we had a beautiful new entry to our home. I would absolutely use these people again.

After reading reviews on line for this company I ordered a door on September 2014. It was to be installed by November 2014, however do their mistakes I did not have installation completed until January 2015. I was very disappointed with ttheir service and product considering I paid over $ 2000 for the door. If you buy from them get an itemized estimate of what your paying for, they are too expensive for the quality of their product and workmanship.

This was NOT as good as experience with Renaissance!
Window/​door replacement: 2 windows & 1 french door with sidelights.
Supposed to be 1-​day install. Instead FOUR (4) install visits over 7 weeks to correct all issues.
6÷12−13 install due date: postponed, glass late (Didn’t order with enough lead time? owner never answered this question)
⁷⁄₁ 1^st install: installed units with cracked glass in 1 sidelight
⁷⁄₂₉ 2^nd install: replacement glass cracked at glass supplier
⁸⁄₆ 3^rd install postponed: glass wrong size at glass supplier
⁸⁄₈ 3^rd install: glass delivered was clear — not gray like ALL others (Andy’s paperwork excluded «gray» as part of description, so re-​order wasn’t done right!)
⁸⁄₁₈ 4^th install to finish fixing almost everything…
Worked with salesperson (Andy) from March — June;
Was very unhappy with salesperson and spoke to Owner (Mike). HE told me he’d be my point person for project completion: June-​August. Attention to detail, communication issues and quality control did NOT improve.
Issues:
1. French Door Sidelight delivered with cracked glass. Over a month to deliver replacement glass but ordered WRONG color. 7 weeks total to fix this issue entirely.
2. Installed wrong crank handles. Folding crank handles were listed on signed contract forms, but not part of original delivery/​install. Replaced at 2^nd install.
3. Trim installation issues 2 windows.
1 window interior trim installed wrong. UNlike other units which had flush jamb all around. 2^nd install corrected.
2^nd window, Sill/​trim – Poor communication and planning. MULTIPLE conversations on this: Window sill/​jamb needed to be FLUSH AND COVER void left from removing old window’s granite sill. Sales person either didn’t get my direction right or didn’t communicate properly with install team. Luckily, installers had additional trim needed to create apron to hide granite void. Otherwise this would need to be corrected at next install visit.
4. Window over kitchen sink – Poor communication. Sales did NOT point out that locks would be at top. Difficult to reach leaning up and over sink/​counter AND likely prevents installing inside-​mount window treatments.
5. French Door threshold finish and stain: Poor quality control — delivered with spotty finish (looks like a bunch of tiny water marks). 1^st correction: they sent the wrong stain but used it anyway and didn’t say a word. I had to point it out… needed 2 additional corrections: 1 for the wrong color and 2^nd to correct «bubble-​ups» on last correction… it still looks much splooier compared to Renaissance French Door installed 4 years earlier…
6. 2 screens (out or 5) were missing a stripping material that keeps the screen from scratching the window framing and helps against light «leaking»…not noticed until 2^nd install date; and fixed at 3^rd install date.
7. French Door handle — I pointed it out, «sorta» fixed but told they couldn’t fix it any further — handle lever is «Stiff» and door doesn’t catch when you close it. We need to slam it shut. 4-​year-​old Renaissance French Door has IDENTICAL hardware and we don’t have this issue with the older door.
Bottom line: unconcerned with planning properly or doing things right the first time. With all the mistakes entirely on their end, I got a lot of lip service from Owner who clearly is not engaged in any of the details (timing updates, issues above, etc.). I needed to ask for money off in compensation for all the wasted time and poor job.

I wish all my experiences were like this one! Timely, clean, and friendly workers. The product is lovely. The salesperson in-​store and in-​home knew the product completely. The replacement window looks like it was put in at construction time. They also did 2 small adjustments on other doors around the house at no charge. Wonderful!

It just doesn’t get any better than this! As I sat down to write this review — I wanted to be fair, critical and honest. Well — here goes… If you need windows or doors CALL 21ST CENTURY DOORS & WINDOWS right NOW!
The showroom has dozens of beautiful examples — but shows just a fraction of what these guys can do. The possibilities are endless and their ideas are amazing! Their design team is awesome and will find just the right application for your home.
I was impressed with the friendly staff, the professional home visit and the thorough follow up with the completed bid for our project. The owner has been in the door and window business for many years and has fine tuned this business to run efficiently and give the customer the very best service from the first phone call to the installation.
So to be fair, critical and honest… my advice is to call them TODAY if you are in the market for a new front door or some windows. They will not only handle your project with care, they will keep you as a customer for life when you see the quality of the materials and workmanship, the integrity of the staff and enjoy those GORGEOUS windows or doors that you will be looking at for years to come!

We stopped into their showroom one weekend to explain our odd situation with installing French doors off new deck. Had to deal with roofing that was in the way. Trey and Alberto figured out a solution that looks great. Originally had longer lead time than expect but got us in on a cancellation right before Christmas. Alberto was on time and had partner who came back to finish up. Came following week to finish painting. Trey followed up for any issues. Timely, courteous, and well done project. Thanks!

Outstanding! Replacing doors in windows in our 65 year old house is no easy chore but these folks are doing a fabulous job. They show up in the morning and by the time they leave in the afternoon the old doors and windows have been replaced by new, energy efficient ones that are beautiful. You cannot tell they were just installed, how they do that without breaking the plaster or damaging any of the surrouding material is a mystery to me. I highly recommend them.
