Mitnick Julie, MD

Dr Mitnick is a consummate professional and practices in a similarly professional environment. I really like the fact that my mammography reports are read right then and there by not one, but two radiologists. She is surrounded by a team of excellent female radiologists and I have confidence that they are practicing to the highest standard of care.
Dr. Mitnick is very bright, caring, and thorough. She always takes the time to go over even normal findings.
I have never had a long wait at the office. Even were I to, it would be well worth it to receive the care I get there. They repeat images until they get exactly what they need to interpret the findings. So one may wait while other patients are getting the same level of exacting care as do I.
The office is clean and modern and the waiting facilities are very up-​to-​date and comfortable. The front office staff is always courteous and professional as well. I had a question for the office manager and she immediately came out to speak with me. Great customer service!
I recommend this practice and any of the physicians there with the highest confidence.

Was once a state of the art cancer screening center however it became a cattle call of women seeking care. Patients are numbers and the personal and caring staff has been replaced by nasty nurses. No insurance is accepted and after years of paying up front as a patient I was shown the door when experiencing some financial difficulty even though I had insurance.

Dr. Mitnick is top-​notch. Truly. She is extremely highly regarded by her peers (my other doctors all think she’s the absolute best) and in person she is caring, supportive and professional. Mammograms are stressful to say the least, but knowing that it’s Dr. Mitnick in charge makes the experience so much easier.
That said, the front desk staff is less than stellar. They are brusque and officious and behave as if they are doing you a favor. I recently waited 40 minutes for my appointment (I had arrived on time, but they were obviously running late), and when I approached the desk to ask for a status update, they saw me standing there politely waiting for them to finish their personal conversation and just kept chatting. I finally said «Excuse me», and all three of them looked over at me like I was disturbing them. What? When I asked how much longer it might be, one of them said «As you can see, we are running late. I don’t know what to tell you.» Again, what? At previous visits, they were equally rude to me and to others — at one visit, there were 5 of us sitting in the waiting room, talking about how rude these women were but how much we love Dr. Mitnick.
If you can put up with the reception staff (most doctor’s offices are the same, unfortunately), then this is the place for you.

Dr. Mitnick is the utmost professional. Her practice consists of all female, highly qualified and skilled physicians and professionals. I have had several suspicious lumps over the many years I have been her patient. Each time, I have felt grateful to be under the care of such a competent and compassionate physician. The same can be said of the other doctors at the facility. If you have to wait, it’s because Dr. Mitnick is thorough and takes the time to explain the findings. Some facilities send you home without the results. Now that’s unnerving. Be patient. You are in very good hands. I have worked in the healthcare industry for decades. Dr. Mitnick is considered tops in her field – anywhere.

Dr. Mitnick caused me extreme anxiety and unnecessary treatment. Although the office is impersonal and factory like, with very long wait times, until my recent visit, I thought the care was competent. During my yearly mammogram visit, I was told by Dr. Mitnick that I had a very suspicious mass that was likely cancer. When the sonogram failed to confirm, she threw up her hands in confusion but still suggested I have the mass out and deemed the mammogram «abnormal» the most severe possible diagnosis. Unlike the previous reviewer, I think Dr. Mitnick is unprofessional and insensitive for both her premature diagnosis and casual use of the word cancer. After additional tests, films, and ultimately a biopsy at a well respected hospital, I learned that the «mass» didn’t even look suspicious but was rather fatty tissue. Time to retire Dr. Mitnick.

Dr. Mitnick gets my highest recommendation. I have been her patient for years and have complete confidence in her and the Murray Hill Radiology practice. I’m not sure any physician can overcome the stress of mammogram, particularly for women who have breast «issues,» but Dr. Mitnick, her associates, and their staff could not be more professional and sensitive. All the equipment is cutting edge and every set of mammograms is examined by at least two radiologists before the patient leaves the office. If initial mammograms are unclear, additional mammograms are done immediately. I have heard of patients of other radiologists getting phone calls at home after their mammograms telling them they need to return for more repeat mammograms. This is unnecessarily nerve-​racking and never happens at Murray Hill. Brava, Dr. Mitnick!
