Pleasanton dentist, Dr. Steve Chew has served the community for over 20 years. Multi-​generation families are our patients, some traveling from as far away as El Dorado Hills. We have a new modern office, offering digital xrays, ultrasonic cleanings and autoclave sterilization. Extensive experience with implants, crown & bridge, teeth whitening and composite (white) fillings.

Dr. Chew is a member of the American Dental Assoc., California Dental Association and Southern Alameda County Dental Assoc. He is a graduate of UC Davis with a degree in Community Health and the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry. He has volunteered with Boy Scouts, Pleasanton Soccer, Shining Light Preschool, Pleasanton schools and International Christian Cycling Club.

We believe in giving back to our community and support local athletics, academics, schools and charities. We also take a dental mission team to Belize each November to provide dental treatment for those without access to a dentist.

History

Established in 1986.

Dr. Chew practiced on Cedarwood Lane for over 25 years. We have moved to a new dental office on Willow Rd (across from Hart Middle School) so that we can provide the best care and environment for our patients. We started seeing patients at this new location March 2011.

I was highly impressed by Dr. Chew and his staff. They are very warm and helpful. Dr. Chew does not try to pressure you into unnecessary procedures. He is thorough and honest. The hygienists and dental assistants are top notch. The office is clean and comfortable. I am very happy with my choice to become a patient here. I would recommend Dr. Chew to friends and family.

I experienced a dental emergency while away from home on business travel. It was a cosmetic issue, I lost a crown on one of my front teeth. No problem other than looking like I grew up in the UK. I called Dr. Chew and asked if I could come in the next day to have it repaired. He asked when I was arriving back in the Bay Area and I said it would not be until 6−7PM. He said he would wait at his office until I could get there from the airport and take care of my tooth. What great service. I was in, fitted with a temporary crown, and out in under 30 minutes.
Dr. Chew is very professional and has always gone the extra mile for me and all the members of my family.

My adult daughter and her daughter have always been treated kindly and fairly by Dr. Chew. It is my personal experience that he is a man of integrity who can be trusted as well as being knowlegeable and experienced. He is there for emergencies as well as routine ongoing care. I can’t speak highly enough of him. My family has come to Dr. Chew with pain and serious dental needs. He always treats them with dignity and respect doing what he needs to do in a very professional way.

I went to see Dr. Chew a few times and found one of the dental hygienists obnoxious. During one visit, she was convinced she saw a cavity on my x-​rays and Dr. Chew seemed resistant to the idea of filling it but she talked him into it. I scheduled my filling appointment and after he shot up my gums to numb them he discovered that it wasn’t a cavity after all.

After my dentist retired, I tried a father and son practice in San Ramon. What a shocker. I went from years of no cavities to 11. They were so aggressive and even irritated when I asked for time to consider the enormous cost. I then asked a dentist friend about the discrepancy and found out diagnosing cavities is very subjective. Thank goodness I later found Dr. Chew. He is calm, meticulous, friendly and most of all I believe conservative and honest. This time I went from 11 cavities to 0.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Chew for over 20 years. He’s been there through my braces, headgear, retainers, cavities, wisdom teeth, etc… I know there’s a stigma about going to the dentist being a scary and unpleasant thing, but I never experienced that as a child, or now as an adult.
He has a beautiful new office now with state-​of-​the-​art equipment.
Dr. Chew is a very kind and genuine person and employs great people. He takes great care of his patients :) I hope he never retires because I plan on taking my kids here in the future!

I have nothing but great things to say about my experiences at Dr Chew’s dental office. The facilities are state of the art and brand new. The staff is great, friendly and welcoming, and cleanings are very thorough. Dr Chew is a perfectionist with his work and who gives honest guidance about what procedures are needed and which ones are suggestions. I am so thankful to have found Dr Chew as my dentist.

Dr Chew is an excellent dentist. He has invested in a lot of cutting edge technology that allows him to offer a level of treatment that isn’t available at many dentists. I don’t have insurance so I pay cash. For that reason I’m aware that his prices remain fair in spite of all the pluses that his practice offers.

The office staff is great with my kids… they both love to go to the dentist! Also, Dr. Chew never suggests for work to be done in your mouth unless you truly need it. My husband and I both have had dentists in the past who recommended things we did not need. Dr. Chew is honest and does a great job with all of our dental work. I highly recommend him for the whole family!

I LOVED going to Dr. Chew’s! My orthodontist, Ford Roberts, recommended him to my parents (this was YEARS ago) He’s totally cool and put up with my crazy dad (he gets a lot of points for that.) I absolutely NEVER had a bad experience with him or his assistants. I think the last time I went to him was right before I moved to college in Oklahoma.
I wish I could have moved his office when I moved back to California to Brentwood!

I was one of those people who hated visiting the dentist. Dr. Chew actually took over my original dentist’s practice when I was very young. I haven’t had an issue with going to the dentist since. Not only is Dr. Chew fabulous at what he does, he has an extreme passion for it. It’s evident in his work and demeanor. The man never has an off day, at least not as far as his patients are concerned!
For all of you who hate needles, like yours truly, believe me when I say that Dr. Chew delivers local anesthetic so smoothly that you’ll have to ask if he’s done.
On top of being a total professional, he cares about the lives of each of his patients. He has not forgotten a single detail about my life or career since childhood! If you need a dentist or would like to try someone new, Dr. Chew is your guy!

I have been a patient of Dr. Chew for almost 20 years and he has been great! I have heard nightmare stories about other dentists’ offices and cannot imagine what it is like to have a lousy dentist. Dr. Chew is great at what he does and you can tell that he loves it.
He is good with kids and everyone who works there is friendly and nice. They all go above and beyond to make you feel at ease and if you don’t like going to the dentist, I can assure you that Dr. Chew will make you feel at ease
