While I was visiting San Diego I had a medical dental emergency… I contacted Dr. Ed and he immediately advise me to come in. I went in and unfortunately I had messed up my crown. He fitted my tooth with a new crown and a mold for a permanent one. I contacted several other dentist in the area to try to find someone and luckily I found him. He is great dentist and I am will definitely be a patient from now on… I get to come to San Diego to have my check ups. LOL.

I needed an emergency appointment for my broken tooth… i called the office and got in fast. The front office lady took my insurance and personal information and checked and verified that I would be covered so I didn’t have any out of pocket costs. Dr. Ed gave me different options and advised me what would be the most long term solution.
I was grateful for my painless experience and how upfront and honest the Dr. was.

Why is it sooooo hard to find a GOOD dentist? STAY AWAY from this BUTCHER!!!
I went in for a check up, was told I have a cavity and that I need a deep cleaning.
I knew about the cavity, and told the Dr I had been told I needed a root canal. He said no its just a cavity. So I had the cavity filled, and within about 2 ½ weeks the filling broke out, I was in extreme pain now. Finally after the weekend I got into him, and now he tells me I need a root canal. I cant afford it, so now im stuck in pain, and he cant re fill the tooth. Until I get the money together im stuck with this hole in my mouth just hoping it doesn’t lead to an infection. :(
Dr is really rough, he just gets in and does it. He doesn’t take time to make sure you are comfortable or anything…
Basic cleanings etc they are alright, I wouldn’t suggest getting any fillings here based on my experience.
The office is pretty ghetto. one of the grossest looking ones I have ever seen.
Since posting this Review, I have been contacted a couple times, once from someone in Fresno, and another time via Unilocal response. ****Their attempts to contact me to change my review are super annoying.**** THEY LEFT ME WITH A GAPPING HOLE IN MY TOOTH! The solution that they offered was to take the $ 600 or so I paid them and apply it towards a Root Canal, and crown. We since they couldn’t even diagnose the tooth properly, or do the work correctly, why would I trust them to do a crown? I get that they want good reviews. But if they were a good office then I would have rated them better!
I should have been given a refund when the shotty work broke after 2 weeks.
UPDATE: My Boyfriend had gone here in 2014. They «fixed» one of his teeth (they also double charged him). Now that tooth is infected!!! He had a root canal years ago, the crown broke. He went to the specialist and had the Peg removed. Went back to this dentist for them to finish the procedure. This so called dentist just cemented the crown back into place, leaving the wound exposed. My boyfriend ended up with a giant painful abses. Cross your fingers the new dentist isn’t as STUPID and as HORRIBLE as this A Hole!!! A coworker who was botched by this guy also, is looking into legal recourse.

If I could give zero stars I would. First off the place looks really run down, you would think it being in poway it would be nice. The older lady at the counter was not welcoming or inviting. She gives me more paperwork then I have ever filled out at a doctors office, asking weird questions. Why do you need my drivers license number? And my spouses. Maybe update your forms. I am there for 30 minutes. The lady told me that they needed to verify from my insurance company to see if I am suppose to be at their facility. They said it would be awhile. Umm hello why didn’t you figure this out before? Why do I have to wait to do your job? I have to go to work too. So I told them I couldn’t wait and they asked if I wanted to reschedule, the answer was No. What a waste of time. The worst part is they just didn’t care.

Stay away from this office! Unethical dentist who will over bill you. I’ve been going to Dr. Z for a few years. Everything was fine until I referred my wife to his office. She went in and got a basic exam. Dr. Z informed her that she had a cavity but that the cavity was too big to fill and she needed a crown instead. He quoted $ 530 for the procedure-​which included my co-​pay from my insurance. I asked Nicole-​the front desk gal, for the codes she was using for the procedure so I could check with Delta Dental to make sure I wasn’t being over billed. Nicole gave me the codes but also wanted to charge me $ 150 for something else and stated it didn’t have a code.
I called Delta Dental and the representative informed me the procedure should only cost $ 380 out of pocket and not the $ 530 originally quoted. I called Nicole back and let her know about my conversation. She said she would call Delta Dental and call me back. Waited a week and no call. Called Nicole a couple of times and after reaching her, she said the dentist would review the chart again and she would call me to schedule my wife’s procedure. Waited another week. No call back.
Called Nicole again and she then informed me that the dentist would not do the procedure for less than $ 530, even though she confirmed with Delta Dental that they were only suppose to bill me $ 380 total. 3 weeks of back and forth and my wife still needs her cavity filled.
Here’s the kicker– Dr. Z had the nerve to send me a letter dropping both my wife and I from his practice. His stated reason? That he couldn’t develop a good dr/​patient relationship with me. Needless to say, I’m reporting him to Delta Dental for trying to fraudulently trying to over-​bill me for a procedure.
Stay away from this office. Plenty of other honest, ethical dentists out there.
