JT’s Pro Smog

Service was good, and even replaced a short piece of vacuum hose at no charge. I appreciated that. but when I left the car would barely idle. It died at the first stop light I came to. I got it started and it seemed to run fine when I was moving, but still it would barely idle. I had to put the car in neutral to keep it running and bring the RPMs up a little. I took the car back within 15 minutes of leaving and told the girl what was happening. She went out and asked the owner if replacing that vacuum hose would make the car run rough. He said «nope.» He came in to talk with me but immediately started telling me how he did nothing to the car to make it run bad. I assured him I was not making this up and it was barely drive-​able. This made him madder and said come on I will show you exactly what I did. He goes out to my car and starts it by leaning through the open window and pops the hood. He’s all pissy now and shows me the hose he replaced. I told him I appreciate him replacing the hose, but I don’t appreciate the attitude. So he comes back with «I don’t appreciate you parking your car in the middle of the parking lot when you were here yesterday to make an appointment.» (Parking lot was full when I went in the day before.) So again I assure him the car ran fine before I brought it in. All this while the car is barely running as we are talking. AND THEN!!! Low and behold he discovers a huge vacuum leak going into the intake manifold right next to the hose he replaced. He said «you have a leaking grommet that I bumped when I replaced the hose. I said fine I will fix it myself. He continued to tell me what a favor he had done by replacing the hose and was not going to pay for the repair to the grommet. I said no problem I will do it myself. It took three trys to get the car running and leave the parking lot. I nursed it home and there it will sit until I get the part to fix it.
When I brought the car back I totally expected them to be concerned and take a look at the car. Nothing close. All attitude and did everything but flat out call me a liar.
Really crumby way to do business. Especially with a family that has four cars and a diesel pick-​up.

By hands down the best garage we have gone to yet. Today I gone in to get a smog check done. Now a short background I have an 08 honda that passed the day before but this rip off smog place gave me the smog results with no certificate and number. And yes tried to call the rip off artist and they were off. Anyways, I needed a new smog done pronto. I came in roughly close to 1 pm and greeted by Kandace the wife and partner. She took my info and immediately had her husband start my smog. It took about 20 to 25 minutes at the most and I don’t believe that long. I did find out that they do more than smogs. Oil Change, tune ups, and repairs. In addition to getting my smog done I go to AAA to use their DMV and that was about a 30 minute wait and the smog was in DMV system. So if you need a reliable smog place go to JT’s! I will be using them in the future and as well as my other automotive needs.

Came in as a «walk in». Service was fast and friendly. Would refer friends and will be a return customer.

Awesome service. Got me right in, I waited a very short time and they were friendly and not overpriced. I highly recommend them!

Not only have I taken my car here for quick, efficient smog tests a couple of times but the staff here really helped my father out in a pinch when his car «died» recently. They fixed his car and, while my father indicated that he was preoccupied and would not be able to pick up the car before JT closed (and would pick it up the next day), JT did him a big favor. The staff here are already familiar with us, so one of JT’s staff members drove the car back to our home and dropped off the keys to my mom. The staff member didn’t even expect to be paid then and there (and didn’t bring an invoice) but, instead, indicated that we could pay them later. Great, generous business here!

To the person complaining about them «washing their parking lot in a drought»…When one of the hundreds of homeless people in the area craps in your parking lot, you don’t have a choice but to hose it down. Get the facts before you leave bad reviews. JT’s is a great shop as you can tell from the good reviews on here!

Great business, always friendly and fast. Even when one of our vehicles did not pass, they were fair and professional. Thanks for quality work and see you next time!

Just drove by jt smog while we had a little rain and there was a worker hosing down the parking area in front of the business… boo. Everyone knows we are in a drought

They are a great smog facility. They value their customers and have excellent service. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

I do not understand how anyone could think there rude. I took my car to 2 other shops and it was never fixed right. Try JTs so far they have been helpful and polite and quite quick. I will let you know again later how happy I’am with them. Well picked up my car she runs like a champ. Could not afford all that needs to be done butt when I can I will be back to JT’s

Had a 9am appointment for my work truck. after waiting for 10 minutes, they still weren’t even open yet! I wouldn’t have a business if I operated this way. We called a different smog place and they were able to see us right away with no waiting. Hope you have lots of time to kill if you show up here.

Checked around on a Saturday to get my car smogged. I didn’t realize they weren’t open on the weekends. I work long hours during the week and haven’t been able to get it done.
I found JT’s (on Unilocal) and hurray! they were open! She set a time for 1:00. I was there at 12:58 and was back in my car at 1:14. Yup. That fast.
The woman I spoke with was professional and friendly. We chatted about the awful pollen and cleaning it out of her boat and my convertible (mess). About the issue of no smog shops open on weekends.
I must say it was one of the most pleasant situations I’ve experienced from something that’s usually a tense chore.
Oh yeah. The price was perfect also.
