Very snide and scummy customer service, who when I begged for help with carpenter ants, hung up on me. Nasty people who don’t care.

When I lived in Bellevue we had Cascade Pest Control service our home. They were always helpful and friendly and had good advice how to keep our home safe from pests. I loved it when I had ants show up they where right there to take care of the problem.
I had them start service because I had rats in my attic. They took care of the problem and cleaned any evidence of them. They kept traps or bait stations around my home and checked them when ever they would serviced our home. I had no idea how many rats are everywhere even in a beautiful Summer Set neighborhood.
I now live near Anacortes and found rat droppings in my BBQ how I wish I could call them up. I miss my service and my very friendly service tech. Thank you and think about extending service to Skagit.

My husband and I had used Cascade for more than 10 years, on a quarterly basis. We used to have the same technician every time which made it really convenient if a problem arose between service visits. Then they started sending out a technician who told me point blank «I hate going into crawl spaces.» Really? So do I, that’s why I work in an office and not a pest control company. He would show up when we weren’t home to so he didn’t have to get in there to check for mice. After quite a few no shows, scheduling mishaps and showing up 30 minutes late or more, we canceled our contract. We found another company who is not only cheaper but found so many issues in our crawl space that had supposedly been taken care of by Cascade. They fixed every issue and we have not had a problem since. I don’t know if I can say the other company’s name but look on Unilocal for a company based out of Issaquah with a 5 star rating. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a truly awful company. Due to the unusually warm spring and summer weather we had I decided to sign up for service in early summer. We also have backyard chickens which didn’t help with the rat problem so I purchased a rat proof chicken feeder and hoped Cascade Pest control would help eliminate some of the population. On the first visit the service person set 11 traps, not poison but traps, due to the pets in our backyard. The bait they use is some really cheap peanut butter which sadly does not work. Of the 11 traps set initially, only a few were successful. This surprised me because I have counted as many as 10 rats at once near the areas where the traps were set. The service person told us he would return the week after resetting the traps to check them, this never happened. Eventually after several weeks of never hearing from the company I called and a service person came out to reset the traps at some point. However the second time none of them worked at all. The third month was the same with only 1 trap working.
During this time, which was the second and third month of service, the Cascade billing person (Marla) began calling me to indicate I was «past due» on payments. I paid $ 217 initially to start the service and had this debited from my debit card. When I started the service i was told this would be an automatic charge from my card each month but that never happened. Instead they chose to harass me by phone and even threatened to send my balance to a collection agency. Maybe you should not tell your customers the charge will be automatic if it really isn’t Cascade.
On top of that I paid $ 217 the first month and then was charged $ 136 for month 2, and $ 136 for month 3, or $ 489 in total. For that price they got about 4 – 5 rats. That means it cost me nearly $ 100 per rat that was trapped. This is crazy! I will never recommend that someone sign up for pest control for rats, especially with these apathetic unprofessionals. For the money I spent i could have handled the problem better on my own. The billing people and staff that I interacted with were terrible. And as I write this I still have 11 traps sitting on the side of my house because these guys can’t even be bothered to pick them up. Stay away from this company, they are dishonest, unethical, and ultimately are only concerned with taking your money. They could care less about whether their service is effective or not and I can only hope this company eventually goes out of business.

I’m disappointed with Cascade’s service. After the first visit they laid traps in the attic which hadn’t worked for us prior, and made one suggestion on where the rats could be getting in. He was nice enough to give us some flashing to block the access ourselves and suggested we call them if we didn’t get a phone call to schedule a follow up appointment. After 4 days I did just that since I hadn’t heard anything. The second visit resulted in nothing being caught in the traps so he changed up the bait and laid several more traps in the attic. When I called a week or so later to inquire about the next steps I was told they would come out and work on roofline to close up the access points. I asked for an estimate on the cost and was told to refer to my bid given to me on the first visit which I never received. After confirming my email address on file it was input wrong so I was assured that it would be sent over and then I could determine how to proceed. After not receiving it a second time with no further follow up on their end I decided that I will spend my money elsewhere. Being the experts in your field you need to take the lead on direction and scheduling!

AVOID! They like to use scare tactics to intimidate you into paying WAY more for services you don’t even need! The first initial inspection costs us $ 400, which basically involved the guy coming and taking pictures and telling us these horror stories of what’s happening. Then he sets some «traps» but they end up being useless (as verified by a second opinion extermination company) and then says he’ll come back to do the «exclusion» work — i.e., the real job — only if you agree to pay the $ 1500 (!!!) for the work! We felt that was really, really high and got a second opinion. This company said there’s zero evidence of what the cascade guy said was there, proper traps weren’t even set, and for the $ 400 we spent we basically got nothing done to actually deal with the problem. So a job that would normally cost around $ 600 THE MOST the guy from cascade wanted to hose us for almost $ 2000! The company itself was ok to deal with, but the actual exterminator guy they contracted with to do the work was horrendous, and either a con or had no idea what he was actually doing. My advice — move on to someone more professional you can trust!

I contacted Casade pest again, but they didn’t get back to me until my husband called another time. They were really courteous and apologized for not getting back to us sooner and after we described our issue in detail again, they said they would send a crew out examine our roof.
I know that it had been raining and our roof is pretty steep. However, it became really apparent that the team had not again examined our roof and the damage done in detail. Or at all. They merely speculated what could be the problem and gave us a max estimate for what could possibly be the issue rather than examining and addressing the actual issue. They insisted on checking the inside of our attic again, although I don’t want to fix a rat infestation after they already have nested — I want it prevented and further damage stopped. They are really nice people and they are sincere but I contacted another pest company. Without having actually gone to my home — just in email, they already provided more remediation steps and insight than Cascade ever did. It was also extremely apparent that Cascade’s measures weren’t targeted towards helping me fix my issue with roof rats. Bait stations and poisons on the ground only hurt sewer/​ground rats. Except for the interior traps, which I hope are never used, they didn’t do anything.
They are polite, courteous and professional but I will need to take my business elsewhere with someone who is more experienced. I think they probably do a better job with bugs but are insufficiently trained and equipped to deal with my particular issue.

There’s noting like checking in with Unilocal to find out how this company is doing compared to their competitors. I find out that I have been paying more for the last 7 years for a service that it has not worked. I have the quarterly service and on the last visit I ask for help with ants. Clearly the product they use is not sufficient for keeping the ants out. Better still the ants are still here expanding and moving to different rooms. They did not conduct follow up appointments, but mostly I’m entertained by their decision to spray the outside of the house when the ants were very much in the house. Time to switch companies and handily Unilocal pointed me to their competitor who has much more favorable reviews.

Just had a really good experience with pest control. Office was super friendly when I called, had me describe my problem and right away recognized it as probable moisture ants. Alex came over and sprayed and the whole thing cost $ 250. I was expecting from everything I read to have it cost a lot more. No smell and no need to vacate house. Very friendly, quick service.

Our landlord required a flea treatment when we moved out because we have a dog, who we treat for fleas every month, so there really was no pest to be controlled but more of a «cover your bases» need.
I called around to several local pest controls and found that Cascade was by FAR the most reasonably priced for the service I needed.

The day of the appointment the technician was 10 minutes EARLY and called to let me know he was there, I was enroute since we had already vacated the apartment.
His name was Gil and he was very friendly and professional.
I would highly recommend Cascade Pest control, I am really not sure about the other reviews but again, there is no active pest problem just a contractual agreement to be done upon move out.

WAY overpriced compared to their competitors and the schedulers I’ve dealt with are very harsh and even rude. That’s enough to send me away even though the past service I experienced was pretty good. Life is just too precious to deal with ornery buggers!

Our rental agent hired this company to take care of an ant issue in our residential rental house in Seattle. They charged $ 359 compared to other company we used at our house which was $ 159 for initial visit. They spraed twice and we had no reduction in ants. They wanted $ 120 bi monthly to continue compared to other agencies that charge $ 99 quarterly. No results and high cost. We will not be using them for any further services.

Had Cascade come and spray a large nest of bumblebees in my attic. When they completed their treatment the bees managed to relocate themselves in my garage where I was told that I would need to pay for a second treatment. Ended up tearing the insulation out of the wall to remove the nest myself.

From the initial frantic phone call about rodents under my house, to the cleaning out of the crawl space, their people and service have been excellent. My phone call was returned quickly, thank you Gil Flores, and within a few days (and on a Saturday !) Bill Gardner, their technician, was out to inspect the house. He was great and found the two places where they were getting in, fixing one and retuning to fix the other. The clean up crew arrived a few days later and the crawl space is now clean and all the damaged insulation replaced, they did a great job!!. Every person I have talked with over the phone, or met in person or known by the work that they did, have been capable and professional. I LOVE DALE. He is one of the main reasons I chose this company. I was drawn in by their eco-​friendly slant but found the proof in the conversation, knowledge and approach given by Dale. Living on the forest, pest control is necessary, but Dale has helped me to find a program that I am comfortable with to minimize the chemicals and keep our home pest free.

This is an update on my post of several months ago. We had a rat problem, which I identified, but was not addressed by their technician, because «he knew better».
In the process of fixing the none existing problems, they damaged the roof.
Now the good part. They agreed to pay for the repair and were very understanding and helpful in the process. I applaud their fairness willingness to stand up for their error. Not every outfit would do this.
So 4 stars for their integrity!

Bed bug disaster. Decided to spend the big bucks for peace of mind– and called Cascade. No peace of mind given. They did not deliver what they promised for the price of $ 1100, didn’t show up on time, didn’t bring what they needed, and after promising 4 visits on the phone, the technician who came out told me only one was included in the price and each additional should cost over $ 300. After a call to the manager they did come back out, but again didn’t bring the equipment they promised. There is no communication between the office and the technicians– none. Not professional. And worse than everything– I am not sure they even took care of the problem after making me feel cheap and high maintenance. Don’t call Cascade for bedbugs. Save yourself weeks of sleep and spend your money elsewhere.

I have a rodent problem. My year with Terminix only made it worse. For a year all they did was collect money.
Bob from Cascade was a blessing. He was thorough and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately after the first visit — I never saw Bob again. Instead I got the Terminix treatment. Each visit was ended abruptly with «Sorry — don’t have the proper tools to do this — be back in two weeks» During the two weeks, the problem multiplied, and multiplied. It took several phone calls to get the tech back and then it was another excuse and another delay. Meanwhile… multiply…multiply.
I have replaced all my kitchen appliances because the rodents ate the wiring and the steps were taken to close entry points were done by the installers. Now I’m told that I’m just a chronic complainer because, «Honestly, I haven’t seen a rat yet.» Of course you haven’t — you don’t have the tools.“
This review prompted an email. Then more of the same inconsistencies.
Update — 9÷18÷2010
To be fair, unless the owner replaced the insulation and did some other repairs — nothing anyone did would alleviate the problem. There was nothing they could do to help and we both finally realized that. Rodents are a special case. You can’t come out once every six months and spray pesticide and expect results. I know of no company that does an adequate job but Bob — from Cascade was the only person who actually helped. He’s a gem.

So we apparently have wasps, and they’re on the roof. What pest control company doesn’t get on roofs… you got it, Cascade. I suppose they only do pests that are ground level.
