CAR MRI

These guys are awesome. My car was repaired at Caliber Collision down the street but they didn’t fix every problem (my car squeaked every few seconds). They referred me to CAR MRI. CAR MRI was awesome, they took care of me right away, and fix the problem in around half an hour on a Friday afternoon. They even stay open until 6 on Fridays so its more convenient. Best part of all is they didn’t charge me for the repair. This was awesome, I was irritated, Caliber Collision didn’t fix my car completely the first time.

When I came in, there was a ferrari in there, I was like «oh no, I came to the wrong place». But it wasn’t what I expected. The place wad reasonably priced. The alignment was done quickly. He did take my car for a test drive after it was done without letting me know, it was fine by me though. After all, if this place is good enough for a ferrari, it’s good enough for me.

George took my phone call on the second ring. Was referred to this shop by a friend with a car wash. Made me an appointment and took care of my smog very quickly as promised. will be back again as they are a full shop.

These guys are great. I took my car there just to ask questions about something that I was experiencing with my car. These guys helped me out with a lil troubleshooting and diagnosed a bad alternator. Recommended options and even charged my battery so I could get home. If it weren’t for the warranty I already had on the alternator, I would have definitely let them handle the situation. Good, honest and helpful crew at Car MRI!!! Jorge and his team run a good shop. Clean and organized. I started coming here when they were fairly new on the block so I wanted to give them a try. Services I have done here are alignment, oil change, tune-​up. His alignment rack is lowered-​car friendly. Jorge is professional and really gets to know you so that you stay a customer. He makes good conversation so that you’re not too bored waiting on your car. Jorge can even educate you on their car inspection process and why it’s so important. He’s helped me a couple times with pricing, so be a good customer like I was! Lol. Jorge is accommodating if you take your car in later, but not minutes before closing. I am docking a star only because I feel like I overpaid for a tune-​up, but I’m definitely remaining a customer. Thanks Jorge and team!

Staff is friendly, professional and, most importantly, honest. They don’t try to sell you services you don’t need. I came in because my car was making vibrating noises when turning left. Turned out it was a piece of plastic hitting my right front tire. They diagnosed it quickly, fixed it for free and I was out in 15 mins.

This is the best automotive shop in all of San Diego, George and his team were awesome and got my smog done before I even sat down in their waiting room. George went above and beyond and took great care of my Honda Civic. I never had such great service from an automotive shop until I came here. I stopped here on accident looking for a shop to do my smog and I’m very happy I found this shop. I definitely recommend this shop for all you Unilocalers out there and I will be back to get service done.

I installed my new tires on my car and decided I needed a wheel alignment due to my «swerving» to the left. Called before hand for an appointment at 0845, and they quickly took me in asap. My alignment only took 45 minutes, which was great! I even had time to stop by AMPM for breakfast. Really clean car shop and excellent customer service! I would recommend my family and friends to this shop for any car service. HONEST, FRIENDLY, and very knowledgable!

How do I know?
My car wouldn’t start after I finished pumping gas! I looked around for help and luckily found Car MRI. George and his team came and rescued this damsel in distress so I wouldn’t have to leave my car at pump 2 overnight. They pushed my car to their lot and sent me on my way, grateful.
After giving me a ride back to work, I got a call letting me know my car was up and running shortly after. These heroes are a pleasure to do business with, would definitely come back and definitely recommend.

I took my BMW here yesterday for an alignment. This place it’s really cool! You can watch your car while being worked on and they have a very friendly staff, specially George. I highly recommend this place.

Definitely recommend! Great customer service and less than 30 mins for a smog check. I also liked how customers have a clear view of the mechanics working on the cars. It is very clean for a repair shop.

As I was searching for Smog/​repair shop, this is what’s always showed up in the Miramar area. So, the reviews about it made me went and checked the place out. I went there to have a smog check on my car and it passed! If you’re looking for a smog/​repair shop, there’s no place like «Car MRI». George IS the guy to look for. Very helpful and a nice guy too! Way to go George! Keep up the good work! This shop deserves a 5 star rating.

I went to car MRI a couple of weeks ago to get an alignment and I am extremely glad I chose to go here. My car had some problems and I had gone to other places and they were charging me a big amount of money to get it fixed. When I came to car MRI George took the time to explain everything to me, and gave me options to fix my car. I have been driving my car without a problem I can actually feel the car running smoother.
I have always been doubtful of mechanics because sometimes they’re not very honest, but I didn’t feel like that here. This place is professional and reliable. Customer service was excellent (Thank you George) the staff is friendly and the facility is very nice and clean.
If you ever need a mechanic this is the place to go!

After reading all of the other reviews from this place, I gave CAR MRI a try and was blown away by their service, knowledge and their clean waiting room and service area. I’ve never been in a garage where it’s so clean and a window to see the mechanics work.
I took my Sienna for a four wheel alignment and after the service, George only charged me for two wheels since the rears were not needed.
When I started to drive back to work, I notice that my steering wheel was off centered and my van was leading to the right.
After I gave them a call, George said to bring it back. He even took me to work while they work on my van. After about an hour and half, he called me, even offered to drive my van back to work, but I hesitated and told him I’ll pick it up instead since I’m only 5 mintues away from it.
When I drove the van back, not only was the steering straight, but the alignment was dead on.
If you’re looking for a place that value customer service and goes above and beyond, CAR MRI has it.

I have had very good service from Car MRI. I have a 2005 Nissan Altima mid-​sized sedan. The fairly new owner, Jorge (George) Mendoza runs a clean, high tech operation that has lots of parking and is tucked away behind the North-​East corner of Camino Santa Fe and Mira Mar; the entrance is off of Camino Santa Fe.
I’ve been in three times in the last four months. One of my closest male friends recommended Mendoza for his honesty and mechanical expertise.
Car MRI has aligned my tires, resolved some hard to detect electronic problems and today replaced my head light. You can watch the mechanics work if you want to, and the waiting room is very bright and clean. I have always been treated with respect and have never felt over charged, or spoken down to.
I read a book once about Cirque du Soleil where they told a story about the man responsible for all the safety of all the entertainers. He could hear the slightest noise caused by a rigging that was going to fail. Jorge is perceptive and analytical like that. He can hear those mechanical noises and pinpoint problems by using data analysis and listening. He has made good deductions for me and discussed them before moving forward. His guys are seasoned, mechanics. I’m not sure what the problem was with Evan on 6÷1÷15, but either he reported on the wrong place, or he didn’t understand that he was at a mechanic, not a body shop. There is a place right next door… maybe he means them? These guys are very engaged and take their roles seriously at Car MRI. I feel safe when I go there.

This place really helped me sell my car. I found out about at this business while hangin out with my friends in San Diego. I don’t know too much about cars to begin with so when I heard that they check it to make sure the car is in good condition; I was stoked!!! I felt like the printed report they gave me after inspecting it, armed me with the negotiating power I needed to sell my BMW.
Call this stereotypical– but being a girl AND trying to sell your car… people don’t take you too seriously. After walking in to this place I definitely got more clarity as so what they do and asked myself why this hasn’t been around sooner. Its basically a bumper to bumper inspection, done by top of the line equipment that checks your engine (Mine was great), tires, alignment, and a bunch of other stuff. Its also super affordable.
This place had a pretty neat waiting room. It looks all sophisticated, I liked the colors (black, grey, and RED) and has a clear glass window so that you can sit and see what they are doing. The inspection took a little under an hour.
I feel that if I didn’t go here, it would have been a lot harder for me to sell my car. I don’t know think I would really be able to convince anyone or make them feel secure about what they were buying besides showing them how pretty the outside looked.
