I came here at 10am on a Thursday (perks of being a student). There was no wait time, and I was done by 10:15am. Excellent, fast service. Owner is also friendly. Cost was $ 37 with the Unilocal check in discount! I would come here again!

Could get any easier. Arrived at just after 1pm and was finished by 1:30pm. ~$ 35 for a smog check, which is a bargain compared to the $ 50+ I paid for at a competing place last time.

I went to this location a couple months back and got my smog done. I just thought I should leave a review myself to go with the other already on here. The location is tight to get in and out of, but once you pull in front of the smog bay he pulls it in and takes it back out facing the driveway so you don’t have to do that yourself. One of the fastest smog checks I have ever seen. You could say I am worry some about who even gets in the drivers seat of my 2004 Acura TL, but i had full trust in him. He was very nice and answered every question I had without any sign that I was annoying at all. I definitely would recommend to others around this area!

Kevin was awesome, got us in and out in about 15 mins. Definitely going back and highly recommend… Also, I like that this is a Smog only service station, you’re not gonna be waiting on someone to finish getting their oil changed.

I have always came to this shop in the past because of great customer service. From what I heard, It is now being run by the owner. I thought it was under new management. The owners mood is grim. He doesn’t greet you, no smile, and his customer service sucks. I came in today and after running my motor for 8 – 10 minutes, he said his internet was down. He is going to lose a lot of customers if he doesn’t change his attitude or get an updated internet system. I took my business next door and they were awesome. I will be writing a review for them later.

So fast and nice! The pricing is very reasonable and I didn’t even have to search for a coupon. $ 34 for a smog on a 2006 vehicle :)
I called with 5 minutes notice and he was accommodating and stayed an extra 10 minutes after closing for me. I felt bad but he didn’t give me grief at all. I liked that it was straight forward, no wait time and that he was knowledgable. Sent my paperwork to the dmv and I was done!

The Smog Clinic is located just east of the Ruffin/​Claremont Mesa intersection. Look for the quick lube sign and pull in there.

I found this place on Unilocal while waiting for my car wash down the street (Gentle Touch Car Wash-​also popular on Unilocal). My girlfriend actually came here for her smog test the week before. It’s a small family owned business and the owner seems like a nice guy. He didn’t talk much but got the work done super fast. I showed him by Unilocal check-​in and got 5 bucks off! Definitely going to keep this place in mind for future smog tests.

I came here after the first smog place I went to wanted told me my car needed a $ 700 plus «tune up» in order to pass smog. I hightailed it out of there and a week later went to the Smog Clinic. My car passed with no issues, and I saved myself $ 700 by not going to the original place.
The Smog Clinic was very fast, friendly, and professional. The best thing about going to a smog check test only place is that you get an unbiased professional opinion on the thing that matters, the smog check. I got the $ 5 off by checking into Unilocal,and I waited less than 15 minutes on a Saturday. I definitely will be going back here for all my smog check needs.

This place is still rockin the Unilocal rep! Chose Smog Clinic #1 for location, but #2 for Unilocal reviews. Exactly like everyone’s saying, walked in with no appointment and dude helped me right away. I was lucky enough to be given a car for short-​term use, but had no clue about it beyond a couple mechanical issues (aka, i didn’t know if it would even pass smog!) During the visual inspection he pointed out a few minor things that i should take care of as soon a, which was way helpful.
Bingo bango, ~15 mins after walking in, i was all ready to go, smog cert in hand! Decent price, too! Be sure to mention that Unilocal led you to Smog Clinic.
A total hottie walked in and we got to chatting and I forgot to ask the owner’s name (sorry!) and thank him for the fast service, great price, and the engine repair tips.

I wanted to write an update because the man who owns the business, Kevin, took the time to write me, twice, with an explanation of why the .50 was added to my bill.
As a small business owner, there are so many things to overcome just to try to stay in business. And even with having to remember all that you need to do on your own, you also have the entire overhead to carry yourself and try to make a living. I am all for Kevin’s shop and hope he stays in business many more years. I would recommend him and I would return to him (with cash next time).
Kevin explained that last time he ordered 10,000 invoices and he did not put on there that if you pay by credit or debit card it will cost .50 extra to cover the extra cost that it costs him. He only came up with the new charges about a year ago, which are reasonable charges. He did write me and say it would be on the new invoices when he reorders.
He also stated that he used to tell customers but that sometimes he forgets, which I guess happened in my case and that’s OK, it’s human to forget, especially in this day and age. I forget at least once an hour!
He also wrote me that he posts the price list on the wall where customers sit and the extra .50 cents is listed there. I was actually just watching him work on my car the whole 10 minutes it took him to complete my car he was that fast.
He also stated that he has it: where the customer fills out the invoice on the counter (maybe I put the paper on top of it?) (2) Where the credit card terminal is (missed this one too (3) at the pin pad for the debit payers. (I missed this one too).
So to be fair, Kevin stated he did have signs about the extra fee but in my defense, I just missed them all. I guess in the end, maybe just telling the customer would have been the key, especially when I asked if Kevin was going to be charged an extra fee if I used my credit card and he said, «No»… that may have been the time?
But again, I want to reiterate, I like Kevin, I would use his shop again, I don’t think he was trying to rip me off and I think he does a good job. I would recommend him.

Convenient location, next to Zion Market. Blink and you’ll miss it, though; its the SECOND driveway on your right.
Located towards the back of a driveway, there’s parking to your right and several garages (each one a different business) on your left. There’s no front store; just head into the garage towards the desk at the back. There are a few chairs and magazines while you wait. They pull your car into the garage, so you can see everything that’s going on.
The whole thing was SO quick. I was in and out in under 15 minutes!
(I was there on Monday after 4pm and there was absolutely no line; the owner got to work right away!).
Kevin was super friendly and gave me my $ 5 Unilocal Discount with me just mentioning it. The whole test and certificate was only $ 37. They do charge 50 cents for electronic transactions, though.
Kevin was very professional and told me he’d send the results to the DMV within 30 minutes and gave me a copy of all the paperwork. He also informed me that I’d have to do a smog test every two years; he was really knowledgeable about the whole process in general.
I can see parking being an issue on busy days and there might be a bit of a wait (since they can only do one car at a time), but they are so fast its most likely not going to be too long. I called ahead and he hold me there was noone waiting anyway, so you could just do that. The last time I went in for a test at a different location (almost ten years ago), I was there for almost an hour; there’s no way I can see that happening here.
They’re only open until 5:30, which could be an issue for some people, but they have weekend hours.

Literally took less than 10 minutes and we didn’t have an appointment. No wait on a Sunday afternoon at around 1-​ish. Kevin was friendly and professional and filed the paperwork automatically with the DMV.
$ 42 minus $ 5 for the Unilocal discount that you just need to mention to him. $ 0.50 fee written on the wall for electronic transactions (credit or debit). Total was $ 37.50 — what a steal.
Great deal, way cheaper than Kearny Mesa Smog Check which takes way longer, people trash your car with their dirty boots, and charge over $ 50

I pulled in around 1 pm on a Monday afternoon. I got right in. I sat down to write a review on my phone about another business. And, before I was finished, my vehicle was finished! I paid around $ 40, i think. The guy who helped me was nice too. Best smog experience ever!

Walked in, no lines, small place. The gentleman working here quickly got my keys and car and started his work immediately. I was standing outside and he offered me a seat inside which was nice. Waited literally less than 15min. He drove my car out. I paid and home free!!!

This was my first smog check experience and I’m glad I went to the Smog Clinic. I moved to San Diego in 2012 and I just recently decided to become a resident and register my car. I came in on a Saturday in the early afternoon not really knowing the process or what to do. A nice older gentleman was behind the front desk and kindly explained to me what I needed to do to satisfy the State’s requirement. I was in and out within 20 minutes and the whole thing cost me about $ 37. I’ve heard that you can get smog tests done for a little cheaper than that, but I’d rather pay a little more for a good customer service experience than pay the cheapest rate I can get and leave with a bad taste in my mouth.
