Suspension Plus

Took my Honda Civic Si in for a front strut replacement and 4 wheel alignment. To sum up, the price is definitely right, but workmanship is so-​so.
I called in to get a quote for the job. Ron was able to beat the price of another shop by $ 70 (and compared to a dealership he saved me $ 350). Because of this I was a little worried that when I came in the next day to work out the details the estimated price would increase but he stood by his initial quote.
Where they get 3 stars is in the quality of the work done. My steering felt really loose after the job was complete – night and day difference (and it was a same day repair so I knew something didn’t feel right). Turns out compliance bushings were split, ball joint boots were ripped open along with tie rod end boots. Damage to the joints? I wasn’t able to get those issues fixed until almost a year later (I’m not rich by any means and the cost to fix the issues caused was more than I would have saved by going to a dealer to begin with).
I was in a rush since I was moving at the time and the price was right but in hindsight I wouldn’t take my car back to Suspension Plus.

I have a difficult car to work on, not many people want to work on anything older than themselves. Ron and crew had no problem taking on this job, including welding on new metal and creating new bushings. Most places just tell you to get lost when your car is at that stage. They not only did the job, they made improvements and re-​distributed the load so that the car would run evenly (for once.) This is the first time in about 5 years I’ve actually smiled while driving this old rustbucket. It feels safe and handles like a new car. The alignment is perfect and Ron was able to identify all sorts of issues I hadn’t even considered. I couldn’t be happier about the price. Other shops (the few even willing to work on my car) came in at prices about 2x what he was able to do. I’m coming back here with any/​every car that needs help because I really respect their can-​do attitude. Thank you.

Ron lived up to his reputation for the honest mechanic. One of my front tire had wear on only one side so went there to get wheel alignment done. He quoted me the price for doing wheel alignment on all four wheel and later determine that my alignment was within the tolerance and then gave me only tire rotation and spill about doing rotation frequently and making sure that tires have required air pressure. He then charged me on for the time his mechanic spent which was far less than the quote. I would definitely go there again if I need any work to be done on car.

Thanks!!! Ron & crew for a great job fixing and aligning the front and rear suspension on my 2002 CRV!!! Three weeks and 800−1000miles later, I’m still loving it! Also, I finally got used to NOT slowing down for dips in the road. Except for you guys, in all these years with bigger tires, no one ever suggested rolling the rear fender lips. Thanks for doing this! Suspension Plus Miramar gets my recommendation, to anyone I know needing suspension work, for honesty, a great price, and on time completed repairs that are done right.

Had my Jeep looked at, I was feeling a pull to the right and took it in. Honest mechanic… said there wasn’t much they did, more of a rotate my tires issue.
You don’t find many hard workers with integrity working on vehicles anymore — it’s refreshing to come here and know you aren’t getting ripped off.

One thing you have to realize is that the AutoCareSpecials advertised online or on Groupon/​LivingSocial are not always warmly accepted with the same people that choose this venue to advertise their business.
I understand the «free» oil changes are meant to be a loss-​leader, to attract customers to the wide variety of other services your business may provide, but that doesn’t mean you can do a less than perfect job. If the oil change is meant to lead you into become a return customer, Suspensions Plus has done its job to solidify the fact that I will NOT be returning to this location at all.
I came to get my 2010 Toyota Camry serviced here not too long ago. I brought it in at 48xxx, and I am at 51xxx at the time of review.
Just spent the last week before this review dealing with dripping oil from the engine.
Had to consult a mobile mechanic to realize that:
a)the gasket ring that is provided with each oil filter was not used … the previous gasket ring was used again. What bugs me the most is that my mobile mechanic told me that these gasket rings come with every filter, and that these should be replaced at every oil change. Not the case, as the gasket ring pulled from the car at the time of leaking was warped and heavily disfigured.
b)one of the plugs under the car was not tightened all of the way. this was the major cause of the leakage. I am without the tools, work area and general know-​how that is required for me to do my own repairs, which is why I brought my car in to be worked on by «professionals». Give me a break … this is negligence and cutting corners at best.
c) mobile mechanic pointed out the use of cheap Chinese filters … filter looked structurally fine, not gonna ding the guys on this one except for the fact that the filter is bonafide Chinese. Your choice …
All in all, a lack of detail to attention, as well as a lack of care in getting the job done right and without problem are my main reasons to avoid this place.
I’ve laid the cards out, willing to give you guys a chance to redeem yourself.
Please contact me with resolution, as what I went through was completely unnecessary provided that you guys completed the job like it should have been the first time around. I am considering mechanic rates, extra oil and any other such expense that came out of my pocket at your own wrongdoing.

Needed to have some suspension equipment installed along with a clutch, great place with very fair prices. would definitely come again for some automotive help. (toyota 4Runner maintenance)

Bought a deal from social living for couple of free oil changes. It even states to on the voucher that appointments must be made so I called to schedule an appointment after work around 4 and the man in the phone shot me down fast. I didn’t even get a chance to say what day. He told me that it’s around closing time and it’ll take at least 3 hours to do an oil change. Then he was kind of snippy and told me «I know everyone has work early in the day.» And suggested to come early during my work schedule which I can’t hence the reason why I wanted to make and appointment for after work. I even asked if I can make appointment on Saturday’s and straight up told me no. Just that they are busy and they have a lot of walk ins. So much for customer service. He just sounded lazy and didn’t want my business. Couldn’t even work with me and I’ve never heard of an oil change to take 3 hours to do. Now I wasted my money on these stupid vouchers for all these free services and don’t know what to do.

I’ve received multiple good and bad services before, but was never compelled to open up a Unilocal account and write a review– until today. I’ve always dreaded going to repair shop as most of them would always try to up sell a service, but not this place.
I purchased a groupon deal for some basic services. Called to ask questions, and the gentleman that answered the phone, Ron, was very helpful and answered all of my questions.
Came in for an oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. The mechanics were quick and efficient, but what compelled me to write this review the most was Ron’s exceptional customer service. He was professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and to me, the most important of all, honest. When I need car services again, I’ll definitely come back to this place.
I know there are many out there who feels the exact same way as I do in regards to mechanics– I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Absolutely horrible business. Had my car raised because it was too lowered by the previous owner. After 2 weeks the car dropped down to its original height, took it back and they said that there was no need for an appointment, the garage was full and 1 had to wait 4 hours, after l came back to pick up the car when it was ready, I come to find that there was absolutely nothing done to it, no raise. Sat for a further hour watching him do it. Not professional at all, waisted my whole day and the mechanic even had the urge to even back with me

I love Ron!!! He is the sweetest mechanic i’ve ever met! To when I first called Suspension Plus to make the appointment to when I drove my car off the lot! He listened carefully to my concerns and was very patient with me.
Anyway, I know fully well being sweet isn’t going to fix your car. But on top of that, he knows what he’s doing as well! I had gotten into a very bad accident a year ago, and since then my car has been making weird crunching noises as I hit bumps on the road. Every mechanic I’ve taken it to didn’t know what was causing the noise and left me very frustrated. Ron took my car for a test drive and figured out why it was making that noise and fixed it in half an hour! Why didn’t I come sooner! Now my car is noise free and I am worry free! Whee!

Great work and excellent customer service. I had an alignment done on an ’04 civic SI since my rear wheels were rubbing my fenders and they fixed me right up. Also installed some Buddy Club extended lower control arms while they had the car and overall did a great job.

When I moved back to San Diego, I didn’t have a car guy that I could trust, and not kill me on a price. I’ve taken my car into Ron on a few occasions (because it was a POS at the time) and I can say, I would recommend him to anybody. I trust that he does a good job, he won’t kill me on price, and if he says he can’t do the job, he’ll give me a guy that can.
It’s tough to find a mechanic you can trust with you car, but Ron is definitely a guy that you should go to.

Highly recommended! Ron is not only great at what he does but fair and honest. He has worked on my vehicle several times. Each time he has been willing to work around my schedule. Never have I felt that «run around» that I’ve gotten from some shops in the past. Ron always goes over everything up front and is reasonable with estimates and prices. He fixes the problem and doesn’t try to up sell a laundry list of other repairs. I trust him with the safety of my family on the road and that’s saying a lot!!!

Wow! There’re a lot of 5 star reviews for this place considering the rude ass douche who answers the phone.
I call to make an appointment so that I don’t have to wait more than the amount of time it will take them to do an alignment (which is an hour). The guy didn’t seem to want to set an appointment at all. Then the douche laughs like what an idiot I must be to not be available to get there when they open at 8am if I want an appointment.
He doesn’t offer alternatives or nicely explain that there’s not a realistic way to make an appointment and not expect to wait.
(Insert sarcastic sneer here) Sorry if I don’t want to wait around your shop all day while you may or may not be able to get my car in.
Whether it’s reasonable or not to try to get an appointment, it’s pretty stupid to be rude to people calling in when you do business in the age of the internet.

So after the dealership I used to go to in Poway closed down, I turned to Unilocal for the solution and once again they delivered with more cow bell. Ron was great, I got in and out in very little time, and the truck was riding great after they were done with the alignment. Professional, and funny with the ladies that were also in there, I have no regrets giving them my business and will continue to do so in the future.

Awesome place!
Ron is a very nice and honest guy. He shows great concern about customers and more importantly about your pocket; does not upsell on unnecessary stuff!

I just got my tires rotated and my mechanic noticed my rear wheels had uneven treadwear. I used to go to Beeline when i had a lowered car but now that i dont, i decided to go local. My friend had his Suby done here so he recommended the work.
I called today to get a price quote on a 4 wheel alignment. I spoke with Ron and he was as courteous as can be. I asked if he had any openings today after 2:30 and he said most likely but to call at 2 to make sure so i wouldnt have to wait long. I forgot to call him and just showed up at 3. He was able to get me in and out in just under an hour. Ron also kept me informed of what the mechanic was doing to my car and how they plan to fix my alignment issues since my rear was cambered and towed out pretty bad.
Definately recommending this place for the service, the price and convenience. Thanks Ron!
