C and M Relocation Systems

My experience with C&M was not a good one. We had our house packed up and put into storage while we did a nine month renovation. We were told by the owner of the company that our things would be put into a safe and secure temperature controlled environment. I bought bags for the mattresses and box springs but they would not use them. Consequently, all 7 got filthy. They lost control of the inventory somewhere along the way and many things did not get written down. The next week I went to the facility to finish up the inventory and discovered my items piled in a big open unsecure location, with other items piled in a kitchen. I almost cried when I saw the scratches, the dents, the dirt, the unprotected pieces of furniture. I started taking pictures of everything and complained to Andy and Janet who were there. They had very little to say except they would file an insurance claim for the things they could not fix. I asked that things get packed better and spent the entirety of the afternoon watching them grab blankets from other people’s storage to pack mine. Over the course of the nine months I was assured my items were repaired. On the day before moving things back in, I discovered they had moved all of my belongings, without my knowledge, to an offsite storage unit. There was even more damage to items. There were items missing. They had fixed only two things and left me to take care of the rest. There was no contact by the owners, by Andy, by Janet, and no one seemed at all to care about the state of my items. I decided that I wanted nothing more to do with this company and had things repaired and cleaned and replaced on my own dime. They did not charge me the nine month storage costs, $ 2100,which covered a tiny portion of the damage. One item that was ruined was a hand carved wooden shell bowl that cost $ 1800. They broke a big piece out of the top. Irreplaceable. Some things never showed up at all. And I got things that did not belong to me, which I tried to get them to take back, but they ignored those e-​mails. I have someone’s dive equipment in my garage and I have no idea to whom it belongs. Furniture with huge gouges, bikes that are dented and scratched, lamps broken in half, one lamp (of a pair) completely missing, a leather chair with a big puncture hole in the top, filthy mattresses, box springs, chair upholstery with blood on it. Never once did I receive an apology from this company. And I saw the way they store items in their big wearhouse. They mostly move businesses, I think, so probably not much personal attachment to that kind of stuff. Nightmare.

We hired C&M Relocation Services to move our business. The up front part of the move went fine. They did a good job explaining the process and provided us all the bins and items we needed to make the move «go smoothly.» That is where the good part ended.
The day of the move was a disaster. The guys that took down our modular furniture were not the same ones that put it back together. Although we had labeled each piece, they did not put it back together right. I feel bad for the actual crew, because they had already worked twelve hours when they started our job at 6 pm. It was all supposed to be moved that night, but they were putting so many things in the wrong place that we asked them to leave.
There were many items that were dented, scratched and broken, and, did I mention, they put the furniture together wrong.
To top it all off, they sent a guy to look at all the carnage and he said he would take care of it. That was three weeks ago and we have not heard a word from him.
Buyer beware. They came with good references, and maybe they just had a bad night, but that bad night was at our expense.

This company gets a 5 star review from my agency. They moved us without an issue. Had a professional/​the owner come and teach us the basics we would need to know make their job easier. The Tyga boxes, carts, everything was great. I had an issue, very small. But when I brought it up, the company fixed it without any complaints or further issues. The moving crew was fast, efficient and just amazing. I think their brotherhood type of vibe helped out a lot. They were the best I’ve ever seen. Management staff was excellent! Yeah, I would recommend in a heartbeat and I would use them a 100 times over again.
Thank you C&M because without I’m sure our agency would have had a hellish move.

Wow. These people are amazing! C&M made my life so good.
I moved. Not my home … my frikken BUSINESS. Yuck. Tons of crap. I bought a forklift, I worked for over a month getting ready. And then on the big day? Oh, right, we didn’t know about C&M, and the other people blew us off! On the next day? Oh, yeah, they didn’t get there at 10 like they said. Oh, it’ll be 12:30. 12:30 … «we need another hour and a half».
So I about have an embolism and check out to go get a beer. My awesome staff hits up google and finds C&M. They send out a sales rep to survey what we’ve got to move so they can properly quote us. He’s there at 2. Nice!
Super personable, obviously experienced, and coincidentally, the owner of the business. They are accustomed to a full-​on relocation service where you call and say «handle it» and then go to dinner or Cabo or whatever the rich folks do.
They explained the options and we settled for the «Truck and 2 guys» option, where we help as much as possible and pay a reasonable $ 95 per hour. Since I was about to go and rent my own truck and do it myself, this sounded great. He calls up the shop, finds out there are a couple guys available, and dispatches them and also rattles off this huge list of random things for them to also bring.
An hour later, this 48 foot semi truck rolls up to my back door and they unload like 30 or 40 furniture dollies and a dozen or so other random move-​y things with wheels on the bottom. We busted out the main haul of my crap pretty quickly and filled up that semi! Thankfully, they talked me into the time for doing a 2^nd trip. They looked through what was left and knew it would be another load … but more importantly, a total suck for me to do myself.
These guys worked harder than anyone I’ve ever seen. James and DJ were also super friendly, helped guide me running the forklift while loading and unloading, and were so awesome that I wanted them as friends. I’d say I’d want to work with them, but F that, they work way too hard for me! They’d run me into the ground!
They also do residential! So definitely give them a call if you’re moving! Be it work or home … from them doing it all to you trying to save money. They are the real deal.
