Wise Road Animal Hospital in Schaumburg, IL is a companion animal hospital focusing on the health and well-​being of your dog and/​or cat. Our and staff are committed to providing quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.

Our goal is practicing the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion, with an emphasis on client education. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner.

History

Established in 1984.

Dr. Matt Maish opened the clinic in 1984 and in 2000 Dr. Rick DeCraene joined as his business partner. In 2009 when Dr. Maish retired, Dr. Carla Pfeiffer joined the practice.

We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet’s health care. We treat your pet as we would our own.

Business Owner

Dr. Rick DeCraene has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1990.

He joined Wise Road Animal Hospital in 2000. A native of Iowa, Dr. DeCraene grew up in the Davenport area and attended Iowa State University where he majored in Microbiology and received his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1990.

In his free time, Dr. DeCraene enjoys photography, music and hiking National parks with his wife, three children and dog, «Buster». You can find «Buster» gracing the pages of our website.

Dr. DeCraene is a member of The Society of Phi Zeta (the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine), Omega Tau Sigma (professional veterinary fraternity), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA), and the Chicagoland Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA).
