Most importantly, she was professional. Always showed up on time. Clearly communicated through email or phone within a day or two. Answered all questions in a straightforward, respectful way. The contract process was painless, seamless, and fair. She followed through on all deliverables outlined in the contract. She understands the challenges surrounding weddings and large parties, and works well with other vendors. We received edited engagement and wedding photographs on time or ahead of schedule. We never doubted we were getting her best work, which offered substantial peace of mind.
On many occasions we actually received more than expected: (1) To our first meeting in Seattle, we accidentally went to the wrong location and she came to us without rescheduling despite that it was our fault. (2) We bought a house during our engagement and she sent us a housewarming bouquet. (3) She was able to fit in the dancing pictures we wanted at the end of our wedding day through some creative maneuvering and without overly extending the hours for which we were billed. (4) She including a thoughtful small wedding gift with our final wedding pictures that matched our interests.
We recommend her so highly that our good friends’ who are getting married this September have also decided to hire her for their wedding (after comparing her photographs to the competition and after listening to our experience). We are looking forward to saying hi and introducing her to the new addition to our family, as she truly gave us a wonderful gift that we will cherish and share with our son someday.

Catie was an absolute dream! From the beginning to now, even after our wedding, she has gone above and beyond anything we had expected. Choosing the right photographer for our wedding was incredibly important to us. We wanted pictures that would beautifully capture our day. We searched all the wedding websites, wedding blogs, and looked at probably around 75 photographers online to narrow it down to a few. In the end, we picked Catie Coyle, and it was the best decision we could’ve made.
First, she has such a great talent for photography. We love the style of her photographs in her portfolio — soft, natural, romantic, not posed. She also has a great eye of unique shots. For example, for our engagement photo shoot you found an old yellow house that we wouldn’t have looked at twice which turned out to be a beautiful backdrop for some of our photos.
Second, she is professional with a capital «P». From our first email and meeting, throughout the entire process, Catie never missed a beat. I have pretty high standards in this area and Catie exceeded them. She is proactive, responds quickly, and is flexible. She really listened to what we wanted and helps make it happen. For example, we wanted engagement photos in SF that represented where we lived AND we wanted pictures in a open field — she research parks close to the Mission that would give us what we wanted. And in the chaos of wedding planning, Catie will make the photography portion easy and ensure you’re on track. And she sprinkles all sorts of personal sweet surprises throughout the process which made us smile — I can’t tell you what they are or it would ruin it :)
Third, the day of the wedding Catie and her second photographer were on time, discreet, and captured all the important moments, the candid shots of our family and friends were lovely, and the little details of our wedding. And because Catie was go great throughout the process, I didn’t have to worry one minute about the photography at our wedding.
Her pricing was in the middle of the photographers we spoke with — some were lower (but we didn’t like their style) and some were quite a bit higher. In the end, we think we made a very smart investment as we We love our engagement and wedding photographs — and our friends and family have raved about what a great job she did.
So I recommend Catie without hesitation — she is f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s.

This review is completely overdue because I look at my engagement pictures every single day and not a day goes by when I don’t get a compliment at how amazing my pictures are. Catie is a fantastic photographer, my fiancé does not enjoy having his picture taken, I don’t know why, he is absolutely adorable! Catie made him feel comfortable, went along with his facetious sense of humor and captured our fun loving relationship on camera so well! Her editorial style photography captures every little moment without you realizing you are being photographed. Our photos were taken at Half Moon Bay and they’re incredible, be jealous, or hire Catie, that works too! I used Catie Coyle Photography for my wedding on 8÷24÷12 at the Brazil Room in Tilden Park, Berkeley. She did an amazing job, as did her 2^nd shooter! Catie is a true professional. She never missed a shot or a special detail — in fact, she thought of things that we didn’t that really made a difference for us once the pictures were done! She is punctual and responsive to calls and emails, and, almost more importantly, has such a delightful, warm, welcoming personality that makes you feel immediately comfortable with her, even if you’re just meeting her for the first time. It was a pleasure putting our trust in her and having her deliver so completely! We will use her again when we have children. My husband and I did a just-​for-​fun couples shoot and Catie was great to work with. She had so much energy and enthusiasm for photography that was instantly contagious. We had a lot of fun. She was also very flexible and prompt with scheduling the shoot. Overall, we loved the way the photos came out! They are some of our favorite photos that we have.
