Jake N Friends Pet Services is a professional pet care service provider that has been serving Seattle and the surrounding areas for many years. We specialize in off leash dog adventure, dog walking and more. We’ve separated ourselves from the competition by ensuring that we are up to date with the current techniques and solutions for your four-​legged family member by attending workshops, networking at events, and reading some of the latest books on pet care. As pet owners, we also understand the amount of time and resources needed to provide your pet (s) with a great quality of life. History

Established in 2013.

A year and a half ago this great little German shepherd mix puppy name Jake came into our lives. Jake is a rescue dog from Georgia which he & 10 other puppies were about to be euthanized if it wasn’t for the organization called Georgia Peaches. The first night I saw Jake it was love at first sight, I knew I had to have him. So after seeing Jake in the hall a few times, I finally ask his foster parents if he can spend the night and to see how he and my 16 year cat, Sammy got along. Needless to say Sammy and Jake are now sleeping buddies. Jake has inspired me to follow my love for animals and start my pet business better known as Jake & friends Pet Services.

My motto for this business is: I’m here to help keep your dog healthy & happy one visit at a time. I’ll treat them like I treat Sammy and Jake– like family.

I’m so excited and want to thank you for helping me pursue my dreams by becoming a client or by referring me to others who may need my services.

Hello, I’m Mike, owner & operator of Jake & Friends Pet Services. Place your pet in safe hands. We are in the process of being Bonded, Licensed & Insured.

I’m also certified as a Professional Dog Walker, Pet First Aid & Pet CRP.

With a BA from the University of Washington in Business Administration and with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.

I grew up with a variety of animals from dogs to chickens. However, most pets were dogs and cats.

Mike is great! I do the 20 walk punch card with my little Pom mix so he gets 3 walks a week. He has gone above and beyond with walking him longer than expected and also for pet sitting. He is great with dogs and loves what he does so I know my pup is in good hands. My dog is much more social with bigger dogs, when he was usually a little more aggressive.

I’ve been using Jake N Friends for over a year for my lovely dog companion BeBe. I work long hours so the services were perfect. Mike Sanders, the owner, does a great job taking take of my princess. She gets to see him two to three times a week. It can be an hour walk, time at the park with other dogs, and also newly started an all day excursion where she spends the whole day with him and Jake. BeBe comes home wiped out so I know she’s had a great time with him. With Mike, I know that my princess is in good hands when I’m at work and she gets the attention she deserves. I am always thankful he is in our lives. He is prompt with my requests. He is popular and in demand but fits BeBe in his schedule every week. Try Jake N Friends and you won’t regret it. I should’ve started earlier.

Mike Sanders runs an exceptional business. He is very professional, and his love of animals is audible — my dog is always very excited to see him. The email invoices are convenient, as well, and allow me to keep track of my billing. He has taken my dog for short walks, to the dog park, and has taken care of feeding both my dog and cat while I am away.

Our miniature pinscher, Lucy, has never been happier than when she goes on her Wednedsay dog park play date with Jake and his crew.
Mike is super intuitive when taking care of our dog, and has the patience to deal with her high maintenance issues (she’s a very excitable rescue). We live in the same building as Mike & Jake, and Lucy goes crazy when she sees them in the hallway. We’re starting to think she likes him better than us!

I cannot say enough great things about Mike and his partner in Crime Jake! Mike has been the best «Manny» our little Percy could hope for! He is not only attentive to Percy’s high maintenance needs, he also exercises his physical and mental stammania to make Percy a happy pup! Mike knows each and everyone of pack. He provides individualist care as well provide a safe social environment for dogs to be dogs.
As a heli-​copper fur mamma myself, I am always on high alert when it comes to my little boy. Upon our initial meeting, Mike personifies calmness. During our home interview he came prepared. He looked up Percy’s breed and understood that our little boy has a different outlook on his life as a dog.
Every time I talk about Mike or his «Manny» at home, Percy gets super excited and runs to the door looking for him. When Mike drops off Percy at the end of the day, Mike always gives a thorough report on Percy’s day including his interactions with the dogs, and areas we discussed Percy needs to work on (stop eating everything) and and other issues. One time, Mike brought home Percy concerned that Percy was going bald (turned out his coat was changing color in that area). I do not know a dog walker or is soo attentive to our little boy.
Now Jake is an amazing Pack leader! I do not know a dog who could put up with Percy’s rambunctiousness as well as Jake. We appreciate Jake’s guidance and leadership of Percy!

In August of 2014, we inherited a pit bull puppy. Not exactly what we were planning to do. But over the next several months, we fell in love with little Nahla, who defied all pit bull breed negative generalizations.
We knew that we had a long out-​of-​country trip coming up in January of 2015, and we were concerned about finding a place for Nahla that would be stimulating and allow her to continue to socialize with other dogs. My goal was to find somebody to care for her by the first of December.
We began talking to various boarders, and narrowed it down to 2; Jake ‘N Friends and another professional boarder. We went with Jake ‘N Friends and we’re so glad we did. We initially met with Jake and Mike (the owner of Jake ‘N Friends) to ensure that there was compatability between the two dogs, and there was!!! That meetting was held in late November, the decision was made in early December, and what a relief it was to know that she would be in firm but loving hands.
Nahla spent the 3 weeks in January accompanying Jake and Mike on their outings with other dogs every day, and boarding with Mike at night. Mike let us know early in the trip that Nahla was doing great and that we didn’t need to worry at all. Nahla came home totally happy and with better manners than when we left her. It was obvious to us that Mike is extremely conscientious about his clients’ pets; he also seems to have the dog psychology arm of the business totally figured out.
Thanks so much Mike and Jake for enabling us to take a vacation without having to worry about the care of our little (now 55 pound!!) puppy Nahla.

Seriously I am so impressed with Mike at Jake and Friends. I was referred by a friend to Jake’s and I’m so happy that I was. This was a very last minute trip to Bainbridge on THanksgiving!!! We had a dog that was a little under the weather and needed to be given meds and Mike was on it! Very professional dude.
He took such great care of our dogs Coco and Carter. It was so obvious from the get go that this was going to be a great fit. By the end of their two day visit they had been on several walks in the City, played hard, made new friends and even had a trip to the Village to visit Santa with pics!
Mike is super knowledgeable all things canine. I highly recommend Jake and Friends.

Jake N Friends has saved me from a very unhappy canine.
When my son left home for college, Mike took over the role of dog walker during the day while I work. My dog, Teasel has never been happier! I can rest assured throughout the day knowing that she will not be in the house all day and at the window waiting for me to come home… Mike lets himself in, takes her for walks 5 days a week and sends me pictures of her playing with the other dogs. Mike is the alpha leader and is knowledgable about challenging dog behavior. Teasel and I are so grateful for his service! (Teasel is the one in the mud — oh happy day!!)

I cannot recommend Jake N Friends enough!!! We have a very rambunctious Rat Terrier who is extremely picky about who he chooses to like. Our dog Bailey usually barks at anyone approaching our door. However, when Mike (the outgoing and knowledgeable owner of Jake N Friends) comes to the door, he wiggles his tale and rushes to greet him without barking!
The service of this company is outstanding; After each walk we receive a GPS image of the route our dog was taken on. Our dog comes home happy and tired (in a good way) and we know that he has been well taken care of.
We began using Jake N Friends due to the arrival of our newborn. We were fearful that we would not be able to give enough attention to our dog and hired JnF to assist us with our dog. Mike is extremely quiet when entering our home and cautious not to scare or wake our baby. We trust him with a key to our home and truly believe that this service has saved our dog from acting out and feeling left out!
We have also taken several trips out of town when we could not take our dog. JnF has boarded our dog and taken amazing care of him while we were away. Mike texts us pictures of our dog playing and sleeping at his will (we didn’t even ask!), which allows us to feel assured our dog is well taken care of.

Jake N Friends has been checking in on my cats for nearly a year now, and I’m so glad to have them around! I really appreciate the way Mike takes the time to understand any special care that my kitties may need (one of them was being a drama queen and wouldn’t play or eat when another one was in the room). This is a company that provides more than just food, water and clean litter; they genuinely care about your pets and will give them all the TLC that you can’t when you’re away from home.
