I just had an awesome experience with Progressive Tech! Richard helped me the moment I walked in and I told him what happened with my computer (liquid spill). He handled my situation very professionally and explained things in the most thorough way, including that it was a risk to pay the fee up front (that included them taking apart everything, cleaning everything out, and reassembling) because there was no way in telling if my computer would survive what happened to it. I appreciated his honesty and how helpful and friendly the whole staff was. I was convinced I was going to have to buy a new computer, but after about a day they had everything fixed and now my computer is running great! The whole staff is friendly and not pushy at all– very helpful and offer great advice on options. I would recommend this place to anybody and will definitely be returning if I come across any other problems in the future.

I’m changing my review, because the owner, Martin, went out of his way to find out why I was unhappy. I was so impressed that he cared and really wanted to resolve a concern to make his customer happy. I wish I would have told them before I left how felt. In the future, I will bring my computer issues to Progressive first because they went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with the experience I had at their business. Thank you, Martin.

Progressive Tech efficiently analyzed my computer problem and provided me with the necessary counseling to both help me choose an affordable solution to my computer program for the time being and to plan for a better solution in the future when I can afford it. The staff were goodnatured and competent. They have a comfortable waiting area with a gigantic book of beautiful aerial photographs from around the world and a collection of spider plants.

I had a very good experience with Progressive Tech recently. I brought my laptop in and was told I would receive a call within 2 to 7 days with a diagnosis. They called within one day and had my issue resolved within another day! Quite impressed with the speed, professionalism and friendliness of the service received!

The service and advice I received from Progressive Tech was fantastic. My 7 year old IMAC stopped working and they were able to quickly do a diagnostics and explain the results in an easy to understand manner. I will use them again in the future.

My 6-​year old Lenovo laptop was in bad shape, with an error message saying the hard drive was dying. I bought it in China and it also had some Chinese programs that were interfering. David Hornbeck came to the house, picked it up, and hand-​delivered it the next day in perfect condition. Total cost was $ 175 USD. He’s also an easy person to talk with and will explain everything in non-​technical language.
When he delivered the laptop he also spent some time helping me to reconnect with AVG, and continue with their services that I had paid for, and did the same thing with Skype. I couldn’t do either one of those things by myself. Use his services; you will be happy.

These guys here are really awesome. The control button of my keyboard is stuck and sticky. They locate the problem really quick and did a fix for me for free! They are pretty nice, I would recommend this place.

this place was awesome! fast service and cost effective meaning cheap not pricey! had malware spyware n viruses on my gaming laptop, brought it in and got ir next day. awesome fix works like new!!!

Had to update last review. Due to my own ignorance and past dealings with broken screens with Apple stores I didn’t think screen replacements would have a warranty. Progressive Tech contacted me to let me know that they guarantee their work 110% and offered to redo the screen to make it right.
Great customer service and work.

Progressive Tech is hands down the best IT repair service I’ve had the pleasure of using. The service was friendly and informative, and I felt personally attended to throughout the time my computer was being operated on. I highly recommend Progressive, especially for the non-​technical like me.

Outstanding. They resolved the issues with my Hubby’s Mac so well, so quickly and so efficiently and have just done the same for mine. No nonsense, no bullshit, lovely peeps in the store and resolved our issues completely very fast and at a very reasonable price!

Oh, Progressive Tech– I had such high hopes for you, reading these other reviews.
First of all, the good: Their customer service is pretty good. Everyone I talked to was professional and nice. That’s part of the reason why they’re getting two stars instead of one.
Now, the not quite so good: I took my PC in after shorting out my motherboard in the process of trying to get my case fans to work the way I wanted them to. I explained to the guy at the front desk exactly what I had been trying to do, and what I had screwed up. They told me that it could take from two to seven days to get back to me with the results of their diagnostic work, which I wasn’t thrilled about, but whatever.
I hadn’t heard anything from them six days later, so I called to see if they could give me an idea of where they were with it, and learned that they were waiting on a piece of equipment to come in that would allow them to properly diagnose what had happened. The fact that they didn’t have the suitable tools on hand seemed strange, but I figured they knew what they were doing, so I didn’t question it.
I missed a phone call from them later that evening, and when I called them when they opened the next morning, what they basically told me was that I had shorted out my motherboard– which is pretty much exactly what I had told them had happened when I brought it in. They had checked the RAM and video card and told me they hadn’t been damaged, but couldn’t/wouldn’t test the PSU or CPU. The guy I spoke with was sympathetic to my situation, but in the same breath suggested that I look into getting a pre-​built system made from a local company. Out of curiosity, I looked at this company’s website to get an idea of their pricing, and their markups were INSANE– seriously people, my stupid mistake notwithstanding, putting a computer together is fairly easy if you read up a little ahead of time, and it can save you around a thousand dollars, if this other company’s pricing is anything to go by. He also advised me to return the PSU and CPU and get replacements since they wouldn’t test the ones I had brought in.
None of this sat well with me, so I called Salmon Bay Technology (a different computer service shop) shortly after I got off the phone with Progressive Tech and the guy I spoke with there suggested that I bring everything in before I returned anything, as they were able and willing to test the CPU and PSU for me. As it turns out, both of them were fine, not only saving me the massive headache of trying to return the parts, but the extra time it would have taken to receive and install the replacements. Once the Salmon Bay guys were able to put everything back together, they realized that the reason why my case fans hadn’t been working in the first place was because they had died, which is something that Progressive Tech didn’t even bother checking, apparently.
To their credit, once I made it clear to that I wasn’t particularly happy with their work they offered to a refund the diagnostic fee. I’m not a complete dick, so since they had done SOMETHING with my computer, I figured a partial refund would be fair, and they processed that without any hassle when I went in to pick my computer up. That’s the other part of the reason why I’m giving them two stars rather than one. They’re nice folk, but they didn’t live up to their reputation as far as I’m concerned. Your mileage may vary.

These guys did a great job saving my hard drive. They were professional, honest (yes, I verified with other knowledgeable sources), fair with their prices, and timely.
Timely is relative. They are first come, first serve kind of place with the option to pay for faster service. I got my hard drive from my caffeinated laptop within two weeks. I paid extra for the encasement which wasn’t required.
More recently I dropped off that laptop and a much older laptop with the associated power cords for recycling. No charge, just dropped it off and I was done with it.
I like these guys and plan to continue doing business with them in the future regardless of the fact that I live 30 minutes north of Seattle.

Like always, Rogressive Tech to the rescue. The most reliable and friendly plan to go to with issues with Mac or PC. Rich is the best!!! Thank You for always helping me out!!!

I got a call from progressive tech because of my review and I have been offered a 100% refund I chose a 50% refund because I thought it was fair. I also got all information about where the money goes under which circumstances, which is all I was asking for from the beginning. I appreciate the fact that they care, thank you.

Imagine this: it’s late afternoon on Friday and your work computer is struggling to multitask. You open the activity monitor to find all of your useable memory USED! You’ve had enough frustration… enough watching the spinning rainbow pinwheel. You open Unilocal and type in Mac Repair. Progressive Tech pops up and the reviews are good. You pick up the phone and have a conversation with friendly staff in which they say no appointment is necessary and upgrading the memory in my computer would take 5 minutes. Cut to 6pm. On a Friday! Walk in, hand over computer, walk out 5 minutes later with upgraded memory and unhindered multitasking. Awesome!

I took a computer to Progressive Tech which wasn’t turning on. The staff was friendly, and explained to me that the regular diagnostics cost would be $ 49.95 while the instant one would cost $ 99.95. Although, even the instant one would take 24 – 48 hours and the regular one could take up-​to a week.
In any case, I decided that the price was too high and the guy helpfully suggested plugging a new power-​supply in the motherboard to see which one was borked. I did, and found out that the motherboard was dead.
Pros:
— Helpful and friendly staff. They explain their process patiently and are upfront about the charges.
— Seem to know what they’re doing, although my problem wasn’t awfully complex anyway.
Cons:
— Extremely pricey diagnostics. $ 99.95 to get the computer looked at was pretty shocking to me. I was expecting to pay somewhat around $ 20 for an initial diagnosis of swapping the power-​supply. I understand that if the problem is about data-​recovery then probably the high-​cost is justified but after the initial assessment of the problem the diagnostics price should reflect the nature of the problem. If I didn’t know anything about computers I would’ve probably went with it.
— Extremely long diagnostic time. Again, the nature of the problem should dictate this. «$ 20 for checking your motherboard in a couple of days, $ 40 for today» would’ve probably appealed to me.
It’s their business, they have a better idea of what pricing points make more sense for them. As a customer, I found them too expensive to consider returning for future computer repair issues.

So, my asshole cat knocked my laptop onto the floor and busted the trackpad. I was freaking out since it was my work PC, and did not want to face my boss’s wrath for being a careless idiot.
I took it into these guys early on a Sunday (I think I was the first customer of the day) and was blown away by how helpful, friendly, and accommodating they were. Not my previous experience at other computer repair shops. Fraser managed to fix my machine while I waited, and in under 15 minutes, I was heading out the shop with a fully functioning computer again.
No hesitations in recommending this place. Hopefully I will not need to return, but knowing my cat…

Went in for a simple repair on an older piece (as in 2007 old, not 1970 old) of hardware that I’m attached to. Dude scoffed at my gear, and told me flippantly there was no way I could have it done, anywhere. Weird ego vibes.
Basically snubbed me super hard! Just because he wouldn’t make very much money off of such a small repair. Ruuude!

I’ve never written a review, but these dudes are so bad ass that I’m compelled to Unilocal their praises. I spilled soda on my MacBook Air yesterday and today, she’s back up and running. They were honest and provided me with enough options to make a sound choice on where to seek repairs — I chose them because they made me feel comfortable and confident. Wow, I’m so thankful I did. They’re humorous, professional, and they kept in close contact, providing me with updates. Totally eased my mind. They know what they’re doing.
